Meet Trixie Trixie is a beautiful Husky mix who is looking for a patient and loving person to help her blossom into the confident dog she's meant to be. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but beneath that reserved exterior is a curious and gentle soul just waiting to shine. We estimate she is about 2 - 3 years old. She appears to be house trained. But with any new dog in your home, she will need to learn your routine as you will need to learn her cues that she needs to go out. Trixie enjoys exploring the world around her and walks very nicely on a leash. She loves taking in new sights and smells and would be happiest with a family that can give her time to build trust and confidence at her own pace. A home with a large yard to roam and explore would be a dream come true for Trixie, but she'd be just as happy joining you for peaceful walks along the water or other outdoor adventures. With patience, kindness, and understanding, Trixie will reward her special person with loyalty and companionship. If you're looking for a sweet dog who just needs a chance to feel safe and loved, Trixie may be the perfect match for you. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter. If the dog is not old enough, you will be given a voucher for Animal Medical Center in Emmett to cover the cost of the spay or neuter. Sakhara's was brought to the shelter because her owner passed away and the family is not able to keep her. She is a bit overweight and will need to loose a little bit to be at her ideal weight to keep her healthy. Sakhara had a fun Dog Day Out - this is what the volunteer said about her - "She did great walking past other dogs, walked next to a stroller with great manners and sat nicely in the truck. She was good with the kids and took her job of hunting squirrels very seriously! I think she’d be a great addition to any home that doesn’t want puppy energy or a total couch potato. She’s perfectly in between!" All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter. We got Maki from the Idaho Humane Society back in January. They didnt have any information about her, but we took a chance. She’s an amazing dog, she’s smart, great with our smaller dog, great with our kids, loves attention and cuddling. Unfortunately, we have a very busy work life right now, with that we aren’t home as much as we would like, thus we aren’t able to give her the attention she needs and deserves. She would be a perfect fit for a family that is active, and is able to play and interact with her more than we are. It’s extremely hard for us to take this step as we have all grown a strong love for her, but we recognize with us not being able to give her the attention she needs/ deserves all the time isn’t fair to her.

He is a gorgeous, healthy, soft 5.5-year-old, 45-lb male husky who is housetrained, knows basic commands, and leash manners. OGGIE is dog-friendly, having lived in a house with other dogs and teenagers. OGGIE was lucky to be fostered by a loving family so we learned more about him in a home. He is a sweet, smart boy who loves being close to his people. Around the house, he’s calm, quiet, and happy to nap nearby while you work or relax. He enjoys playing ball. He’s very food-motivated and eager to learn. He’s a great companion for someone who enjoys hikes or neighborhood strolls. OGGIE is still working on a few things, including leash reactivity to other dogs/small animals and some resource guarding. He can also be a bit selective with new people in his home, so he’ll do best with a patient, experienced owner who can continue his training.
