Story
Apollo is a very friendly and playful dog with lots of energy! We would prefer he go to a family with lots of time to play, and ideally a large, fenced-in yard. Would do well with another dog with a similar energy level, and is friendly with cats. Also wants to play with the cats despite his size, which they may not like. He is crate trained and prefers to sleep in his crate at night, as well as eat his meals in there. Would do just fine as a grazing feeder, as he likes to eat slowly. Can be crated if you are out of the house, but will miss you while you're gone, so does best in a full and busy household. Content to spend his time wherever the most people are. Likes to sing, will "talk" to you if prompted. Enjoys car rides, prefers a regular schedule. Very trainable and knows most basic commands, but is very easily distracted. Apollo would be a great fit for any family that would appreciate a silly, talkative dog that just wants to be where the people are! Price is negotiable.

Story
Sascha arrived at NCCR on 11/21/24, surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She turned out to be very pregnant, but now that her puppies have all been adopted, and Sascha has been spayed and brought up to date with her veterinary care, it’s her turn to find a forever family of her own! She is an approximately 4-5-year-old female mixed breed. Sascha loves people, but can be a bit shy with strangers, especially men. Sweet talk and some treats generally bring her out of her shell quickly!   Show her that you’re only going to love her, and she’ll melt like ice cream in August! She has lived with another large dog, as well as children but cannot live with small dogs or cats as she will chase them.Sascha is leash trained, house trained and knows basic commands, too. This sweet girl just wants someone to love her as she deserves! If beautiful blondes catch your eye, give Sascha a look. Sascha is in foster care. Meet & greets can be arranged for approved applicants.*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application found on the website at caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!NYS Registration #RR028

Story
June 24 update: Jelly just returned from a slumber party. Other than being too much for the elderly dog in the family, they report that she was perfect! Jelly arrived at NCCR 5/1/26, ready and excited to meet her forever family. She is an approximately 8–9-month-old spayed female Husky mix. She probably has at least one or two other breeds in her mystery mix, too. Jelly weighs approximately 45 lbs. and may grow a little more over the next few months, but likely won’t get too much bigger. As with all young dogs & puppies, she will need ongoing daily training, lots of exercise, attention, and playtime, and plenty of patience & love to help her grow into the best dog she can be!*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit.  If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. Story
We got Ms. Roxy from our previous friend. He promised to give us papers and then told us the day we got her that they weren’t going to do that.Roxy is 1 year and a half as of April 18th, the day we got her, and I have no idea when her birthday actually is.Despite being a husky, she has only barked once or twice in the past two months. She chews on wood/plastic, she tries to snip at cats sometimes, she also chases them (but with this, I think she just doesn’t realize how big she is, she just wants to play). She should probably be homed with another dog, no cats, or cats that will show her who’s boss, and a fenced in yard. She’s also Kennel trained, but hasn’t been in one since April 18th.She will be coming with two leashes, she has reusable diapers, a flea collar already on her. I can also provide some of the food we have for her if need be!

Story
Say hello to Bubbles, the wonder pup! This little guy is a bundle of joy and curiosity, always ready to explore and play. He was brought to us when his owner could sadly no longer take care of him. With a heart as big as the wide-open spaces he loves to romp in, Bubbles is an affectionate and friendly boy who's also super smart. He's a fast learner and always up for a game or a challenge. Bubbles gets along great with other dogs, so he'll be a paw-some playmate for any furry siblings you might have. He's still just a puppy, so he's got plenty of energy and love to give. Bubbles promises to bring bubbles of happiness to your life and is ready to bounce his way into your heart. Are you ready to pop by and meet this bubbly boy? Bubbles is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. DOB 03/05/2026 ##2781169##
