Story
Meet Dakota Dakota is an 11-year-old Husky with the kind of soulful eyes that tell a story — and oh, what a story she has to tell. Originally purchased from a breeder as a puppy, Dakota should have known a lifetime of loyalty and stability. Instead, after just one year, she was rehomed… and then rehomed again. In total, she was passed between friends four different times. No dog deserves to feel that disposable. When Dakota finally came into our care, her body showed the heartbreak she had endured. She had bite wounds covering her neck and an embedded collar that had painfully grown into her skin. But even through all of that, Dakota’s spirit remained gentle and trusting. This gorgeous senior lady is now safe, healing, and finally experiencing consistency and compassion. She deserves a soft place to land — a quiet home, a comfy bed, and someone who understands that senior dogs love the deepest. Dakota is ready for her forever. No more moving. No more being passed around. Just stability, love, and the dignity she has always deserved. If you believe in second chances for seniors, Dakota is waiting.

Story
Sammie is a Husky who is about a year old and 65 pounds. He just showed up in someone's garage during a rainstorm. Efforts to find an owner failed, so he is now in our Program and looking for a great home. Sammie has been wormed, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm prevention, too. He is incredibly sweet, but loves his playtime, too! Sammie is crate-trained, and uses the dog door to go outside to 'do his business!' He plays well with the resident dog in the home, and is surprisingly cuddly! His foster home doesn't have any cats, so we don't know how he is around felines. If you would like to adopt this ray of sunshine, please go to our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org , and complete the online pet adoption application you will find near his photos. https://www.baytownhumanesociety.org/available-animals/sammie We can be reached by email at: baccr1@aol.com or text us at: 832.414.3729 Please offer this beautiful dog a safe and loving home! You can't go wrong with this Sweetheart!!

Story
Gemini is 3 years old this December. He is very energetic and loves to run. A big backyard would be perfect for him to play and exercise. He has been wonderful with our children. Gemini really is a super sweet dog and deserves a loving home with a family that can spend plenty of time with him. I believe anyone that gives him a chance will absolutely fall in love with him. He is very smart and trainable. He also gets along with other dogs. He has been neutered and is up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative and shots.
