Story
Meet Molly Some dogs are beautiful. Others have great manners. Molly somehow managed to get both. This gorgeous Husky is about 6 years young, walks beautifully on a leash, already knows how to sit, and has the kind of calm, gentle personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. She's been wonderful with every dog we've introduced her to and absolutely adores people. If you really want to melt your heart, just watch what happens when she gets outhooses her and takes her home. It's impossible not to wonder how many times she's wished for that ride to be her ride.Unfortunately, Molly recently tested heartworm positive, but she's already started treatment and is doing great. Her adoption will include her current heartworm medication, and she'll simply need to stay on a monthly heartworm preventative as she continues her recovery—typically around $20 per month.Heartworms don't define Molly. They certainly don't change what an incredible companion she is. They just mean she's looking for someone willing to give her the chance she deserves. If you've been searching for a loyal, well-mannered best friend with movie-star looks and a heart full of love, Molly is waiting... and hoping the next car door that opens is hers.Note: Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure. Story
Millie Stayed by Her Friend’s Side… Now She Needs Someone to Stand by Hers!Millie’s story is one of both heartbreak and hope. When she was found on the streets, she was painfully skinny and struggling to survive. But what showed her true heart was where she chose to stay: by the side of her dog companion who had been hit by a car. Despite the danger and her own hunger, Millie refused to leave him, showing a loyalty that can’t be taught—it’s simply who she is.Now safe in rescue, Millie is learning what it feels like to have a full belly, a soft bed, and people who care for her. Through it all, she has remained the same sweet soul—gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving. She leans in for pets, cherishes every bit of kindness, and is ready to give her heart fully to the family lucky enough to adopt her.Millie has already proven her devotion in the hardest of times. Now she deserves to know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of that same unconditional love.If you’re looking for a loyal companion with the gentlest heart, Millie is waiting for you.Her ideal home will be one where she is an only "child" and has property to run around, swim, and be a recreational companion for her person!***Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure.
