Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Jacoby, the sweet, shy, and mellow dog with a goofy side that shines brighter than his unique blue eye spot. We are told his mom is a husky and that little spot offers a glimpse into his past life. His owner was unable to care for him and surrendered him to our animal control. He was nervous and unsure of the noisy environment but began to recognize the faces/voices of the volunteers who hand out treats and quickly added those to his favorite friends list! Initially, he was fearful of the leash but has now learned that it usually brings something special.  He is adjusting well to life at the shelter and has become quite the curious fella. If you leave treats within his reach, he will investigate and feel absolutely no shame. He is also not a fan of baths but says mud puddles are ok! Jacoby is ready to bring joy and a touch of goofiness to a loving home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.  Learn more about our Adoption Information here and fill out an application here.   January 29, 2026, 6:40 pm

Story
Hershey is a roughly 1-year-old male who appears to be a Husky/Lab mix, though his breed mix is just our best guess. What we know for sure is that he has a big heart and a deep love for people. He is incredibly affectionate and happiest when he is close, soaking up attention and companionship. Hershey walks well on leash and appears to be house trained, making him an easy addition to a home. He is dog friendly and enjoys playful interactions with other dogs. At times, he can get a bit overly enthusiastic during play and may attempt to mount, but this behavior is easily redirected and comes from excitement rather than aggression. With his striking blue eyes and beautiful coat, Hershey is as handsome as he is sweet. He would thrive in a home looking for a loving, social companion who enjoys activity, playtime, and meaningful time with their people. Story
Hi, I’m Leia! I’m a 7-month-old medium mix pup (with a touch of husky) weighing 47 pounds, and I’m ready to bring joy, energy, and plenty of laughs into your life. I’m spayed, vaccinated, crate trained, leash trained, and house trained. I’m friendly, submissive, and love meeting new people—I’ll happily greet everyone with my tail wagging. I’m a high-energy pup who thrives on playtime and adventure. Tug-of-war with my rope toy, chasing squeaky balls, kicking around my soccer ball, or splashing in sprinklers and the water hose—those are my favorite ways to spend the day. If I want you to join in, I’ll poke you with a toy until you get the hint! I’m a good eater, I love treats, and I especially enjoy having body contact with my people while I chew on my toys. I’m sweet and submissive, but I’ve got a little sass too—I’ll “talk back” when corrected, which makes people laugh. On walks, I love to stop, sit, and observe the world around me. People think I was trained to do this, but it’s just my natural curiosity. I’d do best in an active family with a big yard where I can run and run. Because I can be a little mouthy, I’d be happiest with older kids who understand how to interact with dogs. I get along well with other dogs, and while I haven’t been tested with cats yet, I’m open to meeting them. When I was very young, I broke my leg. It healed a little crooked, so I walk with a slight limp—but it doesn’t slow me down one bit. I can keep up with the best of them! I sleep soundly in my crate all night, travel well once I’m in the car (though I might resist getting in at first), and I tolerate baths like a champ. I’m currently in Fayetteville, NC, but I can be transported out of state for the right home (transport fees apply). If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion who will keep you smiling every day, I’m your girl.

Story
Thor is a four year old husky and has a sweet playful personality. He loves to run play and be active. He does wonderfully with children and other dogs. Thor is house broken and can comfortably stay home alone for up to eight hours. We walk him twice a day, once day once in the morning and once in the evening, He is fed once daily and enjoys a mix of cut up rotisserie chicken with wet and dry dog food. His favorite treats are pig in the blanket and milk bones. He is in excellent health with no medical issues. All of his vaccines are up-to-date. His medical records are available and he is microchipped. Thor does not tolerate summer heat well, during the hot months we only take him outside briefly to do his business and he comes back inside to enjoy the air conditioner, where he is happiest and most comfortable. Thor is a loving loyal companion who would thrive in a home that understands huskies and can give him the care and love he deserve
