Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Stella deserves a brand new start, and we are hoping to give her one with her next adoption. Her recent adoption showed us that she needs a routine, a schedule, and a caregiver and environment where chaos is lessened. She does well with other dogs, and adjusted to a very temporary foster situation where she was the one and only dog. She is a very smart girl, and is refreshing her command training:  sit, give paw, and down. She likes to vocalize a little bit, but is not one of the more vocal huskies we have had in care. She was crated at her first house, and that is probably a good way for her to transition to a new home. She crated beautifully, slept throught the night with a dim nightlight for comfort, and would love the chance to be "adopted."  Are you ready to take home a loyal yet fun and active companion?   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 2, 2026, 12:36 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Husky lovers, we know you will love meeting this gorgeous girl, princess! She is a rather hefty girl, one who probably needs a lot more exercise than what she has had. She absolutely loves running and cold weather, so combine that with snow and you will have a perfect companion for outdoor activities! Princess has been with livestock, and has done well with horses. She ignored them all together in fact, but smaller animals are a no-go for her. She appears to be fine with children, but because of her energy level, we would suggest that probably children over the age of six or seven would be better for her. She appears to be house trained, and does all right in a crate. She is in a temporary holding situation right now with other dogs and is doing great with them! She does know how to get through a fence by digging under, so must have a very secure method of containment in order to keep her safe. Princess would like to be your special royal companion, one who can go hiking when you are ready, and one who will benefit from some more recall training! (Because of her high prey drive, and her wanting to go after chickens, Princess was signed over to our shelter so that we could find her another place to live.)   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Story
Meet Kota! This sweet and silly pup is looking for a new family to call his! Kota is a very active and funny 7 year old Siberian Husky. He is up to date on his vaccinations and has no known medical issues either. His current owner says that he is very friendly but hasn't had the chance to spend time around other canine friends. Being groomed makes him a bit nervous, and he'll be sure to talk all about it while he's in a pampering session, but he calms down very well with treats! He loves to run around, so a long leash or a big yard where he can run and play would be wonderful. He's a great dog and friend. He loves children too! If interested, please contact Selena at (434) 221-9729 or email austinselena@yahoo.com Lynchburg Humane Society is assisting the owners in marketing this pet to help find a new home. Story
Meet Thor! Thor and his friend Luna are both looking for a new and loving home to call their own! Luna and Thor are always down to cuddle and give kisses. Both walk on a leash very easily after they get out all of their excitement to go out with their favorite people! They are the best of both worlds and can be that high energy husky at play time as well as the couch potato companion when you want to relax. Thor will lay still and allow you brush him all day if you are willing and Luna would not waste a second to cuddle with you on the couch. Luna can be very talkative if she wants something like food or outside time but they are very quiet and don't bark much. They have become very dependent on one another for they do everything together like two peas in a pod! The current owner would love to see them stay together. They have been around a wide range of aged kids and love children once they warm up to them. Their current owner has 3 kids ages 17, 14 and one month old and they will often find them laying around with the kids in their rooms. They have a cat they have lived with as well, but haven't had direct contact without supervision. Typically, they don't pay much mind to the cat overall.
