Shelter FAQs

The Goochland County Animal Shelter is a municipal animal shelter serving Goochland County, Virginia.  We are located in central Virginia, twenty minutes West of Richmond off of Interstate 64.
Animals that have been spayed/neutered can be adopted out of the area. Animals that have not been spayed/neutered can be adopted to residents in Goochland and to those in surrounding counties.

Additional adoption info

All animals are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations before leaving the shelter. We require that an adopter fills out an adoption application.
