Story
...Niko was found on 11/20/2025 at Washington Elementary in Kennewick wearing a bright red collar, like he belonged to someone. But no one ever came for him—and since then, he’s been waiting. At just over a year old, Niko is a 74-pound burst of energy, personality, and chaos in the best way. He’s the kind of dog that hits the yard and immediately takes off—zoomies first, questions later—racing back and forth like the world is his playground. And honestly? Watching him is impossible not to smile at.He’s incredibly food motivated and already knows “sit” and “lay down,” and while he walks pretty well on a leash, he’s strong and still very much a puppy in a big body. He’s a little stubborn, a little wild, and a whole lot of fun. The kind of dog that will absolutely keep you on your toes—but will also make you laugh every single day.And then there’s his look—Niko is stunning. A houndsome mixed breed with piercing brown eyes and a coat that gives him this wild, coyote-like appearance. He looks like he should be intimidating… but he’s not. Not even close. He’s playful, curious, and full of life. He just needs someone who sees that energy for what it is—potential. Someone who will let him run, let him learn, and help him grow into the incredible dog he’s meant to be.We won’t sugarcoat it—Niko can be a bit mouthy and jumpy, and he will need continued training. But these are the kinds of things that come with young, high-energy dogs, and with consistency and effort, he’s going to thrive. He wants to engage, he wants to learn—he just needs someone willing to meet him there. His history with other dogs or cats is unknown.Niko’s adoption fee is $50. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time. For questions or to check his availability, stop by the front desk, give us a call, or send us an email!

Story
Oso was adopted from a family who had all his brother and sisters. He caught our eye with his beautiful polka dots and different colored eyes. He is very energetic and enjoys being outside with his family. He loves playing catch, rolling in the grass and is friendly with kids. He loves to cuddle and play in the snow. He knows how to give a handshake and roll over for a yummy treat! We’re hoping he can go to a loving family or someone who needs a companion. He loves attention & we’re hoping someone can give him all of that.

Story
...Sis was recently picked up by Animal Control and brought into our care. Sis arrived already spayed and is ready to start her next chapter right now!Sis currently weighs about 63 pounds. This beautiful husky girl has the kind of eyes that make you feel like she’s looking straight into your soul—and honestly, she kind of is.Sis is a pretty great dog overall. She walks wonderfully on leash, enjoys being with people, and has a sweet, engaging personality that makes her easy to root for. She does have a bit of anxiety around loud noises, so she will likely do best in a home that can help her feel safe, secure, and supported in those moments. She is also very food motivated, which can be a big plus for training, but it may occasionally mean she gets a little too excited about snacks.Sis already knows some basic commands including sit, lay down, and shake, and she is very eager to engage with people and learn. What we’re seeing so far is a good girl who just needs a little reassurance and consistency. With the right home, Sis is going to shine.Since Sis was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required with any dogs currently living in the home prior to adoption.Sis’s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.Come meet Sis!

Story
Meet Puddles! He is a male Husky mix born in December 2022. Puddles came to us from Tri City Animal Control. He is a typical goofy young dog! Active, adorable and curious, He gets along great with other dogs but has been known to chase a cat so would do best in a cat free home. He’s an active chewer so having lots of appropriate chew toys is important. He is very curious and eager to please-he would greatly benefit from a home that will continue training to make him the best dog possible. He is potty trained and would do great with a doggy door so he can do his business on his own. Puddles will do best in an active home with a secure 6 foot fence and preferably another canine companion. Breed experience is a bonus 😊 If there are kids in the home, preferably over the age of 5. Born February 6, 2021 Awarra is a male Pitbull/Shepherd mix seeking a forever home. He is a parvo survivor! He potty trained with a doggie door in his foster home. He is great with other dogs and has been exposed to cats and kittens. He is 60 pounds and is likely full grown. His foster mom describes him as playful, affectionate and silly. Awarra takes a bit of time to warm up to new people but once he does, he's all tail wags and friendliness! A secure 6 foot fence and home ownership is required as well as a home with adults or with adults and kids over 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Ember is a typical playful puppy. She is learning all the things that life holds. Crate training and potty training, leash walks are works in progress. She has mastered the art of PLAY. She gets along well with other dogs, cats are an unknown, given her young age, she could likely be safely introduced. We are seeking a home that will continue training, include her as part of the family and help her grow into the best version of herself. We will give preference to a home with fully fenced yard. If children are in the home, we ask they be over age 5-exceptions can be made if existing dogs are already in the home.
