Story
Gracie came to us when she was surrendered with her litter of puppies. Her puppies quickly got adopted but Gracie has yet to find her forever home. She is a husky/shepherd mix who loves all people. She is probably about 3 years old and playful with typical husky energy, so will need regular exercise and a secure 6 ft fence. She is an alpha female so will do best as an only-dog home or maybe a home with a young submissive male dog. She is not good with cats or chickens. She is pretty good on leash so would be a wonderful hiking buddy or running partner. She has been spayed and deemed very healthy.

Story
Born, February 26, 2022 Calder is a Husky/Pitbull mix who is as sweet as can be! His foster mom describes him as the happiest and cuddliest pup who loves attention. He’s very well behaved and pretty quiet He is potty trained and gets along well with other dogs. Although he sleeps well in a kennel he’d much prefer snuggling with his people if he’s allowed. He would do best in a home with another canine companion of similar size and a home that is willing to continue training to make him a good canine citizen and grow into the best dog he can be. Calder’s forever home will require a secure 6 foot fence with adults or adults and children over 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Born, February 26, 2022 Styx is a Husky/Pitbull mix who is very sweet, snuggly and playful. He loves to wrestle with his canine friends in his foster home. He is well behaved and quite. Styx is potty trained and kennels well but would welcome an invitation to sleep with his people. There was a cat in his former home and he did fine. Story
Hi I'm Rikki, you might remember me as Ricochet the Husky that was found by deputies back in September 2022. I had been shot in the head and was having a seizure when they found me. I'm all healed up, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for my forever home. Please note that I have a well-controlled seizure disorder as a result of being shot. My birthday is October 26, 2020 - the vet made an educated guess on my age based on my teeth and other things - the rescue picked my birthdate...so I'm a Scorpio if you're into that 🙂. I'm just under 60lbs. I love people and my ice blue eyes will make you want to pet me. My foster mom has done a great job teaching me about how to behave in a house, with other dogs and people. I'd probably be ok as an only dog, but I'd love to have a playmate or maybe you have a good friend with a nice dog I could hang out with sometimes. I currently live with a foster brother and sister, and we have visits with my foster mom’s friend’s dogs and sometimes she brings another foster dog home for a few days. We go on adventures to the park, long and short walks, hikes with dogs that don’t live with me, car rides, work, the store, and coffee shops (that includes tasty treats), and appointments (the ladies at the chiropractor tried to keep me ☺️). I'm happy to curl up at your feet as well. I can be timid around loud sounds (fireworks are terrifying) and raised voices (angry). Treats, words of encouragement and pets help me feel safe when these situations happen. I am crate trained and while I'm not a fan of baths the groomer says I am a good girl. and I lay down for nail trimming. I'll do best in a home with a yard with a 6 foot fence because I do like being outside and sunbathing. If you have respectful kids, I would be happy to meet them. I've been cat tested and would do ok with a dog-savvy kitty. To apply to adopt me, www.mikeyschance.com/adopt-a-dog

Story
Born approximately 1/10/22, Keaton is a young Husky and we believe maybe a Lab or Chesapeake Bay Retreiver mix. He came to us via Tri Cities Animal Shelter in Pasco Washington where he waited several weeks for someone to choose him. The volunteers at the shelter described him as an all-around good boy that enjoyed both walks and yard playtime with other dogs. He’s young, and energetic, enjoys his walks and does quite well on a leash. He knows sit and is treat motivated so learning new things should be a snap for this sweet and happy go lucky boy. Keaton does fine in a kennel, is mostly potty trained but will lift his leg to mark things – this most likely is from shelter life and with a belly band and redirection/training we believe this will stop once he’s settled into a place he knows is his. Keaton is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Since he was picked up as a stray, he surely doesn’t mind an independent walk about so a home with a secure 6ft fence is required. A person or family that will commit to his mental and physical needs through routine training and exercise and a canine companion of similar energy would be a bonus. If there are children in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com/adoption-application Thank you for choosing rescue! Story
Meet Puddles! He is a male Husky mix born in December 2022. Puddles came to us from Tri City Animal Control. He is a typical goofy puppy! Active, adorable and curious. He gets along great with other dogs but has been known to chase a cat so would do best in a cat free home. Like any young pup he’s working on potty training but making great strides. He is a bit of a chewer so we recommend lots of chew toy options in his forever home. He is as vocal as you’d expect/he’s a great conversationalist while drinking coffee early on the morning or really anytime of day. Puddles will do best in an active home with a secure 6 foot fence and preferably another canine companion. Breed experience is a bonus 😊 If there are kids in the home, preferably over the age of 5. Story
Hello, my name is Luna, I was taking in about a 5 weeks ago by a foster family. But I’m looking for my forever home, I like to go outside and play with other animals. I love dogs and cats. I am kennel trained but don’t know the word. I do spend time in there with my adoptive brother Odin (pictured with me) when the humans are at work: I do have accidents in the house, the humans don’t have a dog door or a fenced in yard, the nerve. I’m nervous around new people and animals but when I get used to you I love my belly rubbed and my feet rubbed. I’m a lady and need to be pampered.

Story
This sweet boy was dumped and has no microchip. He needs a loving and active home, preferably one that is familiar with the husky breed. He is currently intact but I'd be willing to work with the adopter on getting him neutered. He's a big lover and needs some love in return that I just don't have the time to give him.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi everyone! I'm Kelsy, and I'm a special gal here at the Blue Mountain Humane Society. When I was brought in, I was very fearful and didn't do well being handled, but I've made so much progress and opened up so much in the time I've spent here! I'm already learning to trust people, and I do well on my daily walks! I have shown some signs of recourse guarding, especially around food, and would need someone patient to help me work on my manners. I also am very fearful when at the vet. The people here have noticed that my fear-based reactivity worsens as soon as I feel pain, such as being poked for a vaccine, but hey, who likes needles anyways? The people here aren't sure how I'd do around other dogs just yet, so if you have other four legged friends, bring them on down to meet me!All I really want is a home where I can kick back, relax, and soak up all the love and patience you've got to offer. If that sounds like a home you can give me, please fill out an adoption application online and come on down to say hi! I'll see you soon!

Story
Hello! My name is Dublin, and I am happy boy here at the Blue Mountain Humane Society awaiting my forever home! I came in as a stray, so the poeple taking care of me here don't know too much about me, except that I am very good natured and energetic! I'm super frinedly and like people, and would definetley need a place where I can run around and play! I don't really know how I would do with other animals, so I would reccomend bringing any dogs at your place down for a proper introduction if you're interested. I can be a bit jumpy and would need to work on my leash manners, but I'm smart and would learn fast! My eyesight might be a little bit bad, as I do run into things from time to time, but I'm not completley sure! (I might just be a clumsy goofball!!) I'm just a sweet boy waiting for you to take me home for some play time, so please fill out an adoption application on the BMHS website if you want to meet me! Can't wait to be your buddy!

Story
Tia is a very calm, sweet girl who needs to be in a home that is very active but without smaller animals. She doesn't always know her own size which can lead to funny issues. She doesn't bark much and has a tentative demeanor here in the shelter that we are sure could change into an outgoing nature if given the proper time and affection.
