2 and a half Mira has been a blessing during a hard time in my life but I am disabled and cant give her the training she needs and my dad works and is very stressed by the messes she makes, she is usually very good with other dogs except for my older chihuahua who is the pack leader. She loves to play and will snuggle up under your blanket. My one request would be to maybe let me visit her every year or two I will miss her so much but I’m doing this so she can be happier and get the one on one she needs

Meet Bear! 🐻🐾Bear is a 3-year-old (almost 4!) Jack Russell/Terrier mix with a lot of personality packed into his compact frame. He came into our care through no fault of his own after his previous owner ran into unexpected issues with their landlord allowing pets. Bear was then placed with another caregiver who felt he would thrive best in a home with younger, active people and playful canine companions — a setting where he can really shine.Bear is house trained and is accustomed to having free run of the house, making him an easy fit for a home environment. True to his terrier roots, he enjoys being outside, but he can be a bit of an escape artist if left unsupervised and has been known to dig his way out of the yard. Because of this, we recommend keeping an eye on him during outdoor time to keep him safe and secure.He can be a little on the nervous side in new situations, so Bear would do best in a home with children 8 years and older who can respect his boundaries. With patience, consistency, and positive interactions, he settles in nicely and shows his sweet, loyal nature.If you’re looking for a smart, active companion who will thrive with engagement, structure, and love, Bear may be the perfect addition to your family. 🐾💛Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 8yrs+All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
Sushi is being fostered in CT. Sushi loves to cuddle and would love to have her own person and family; however she would do best as an only dog so she can get all the love to herself. She travels great in the car and will either sit on your lap for a short trip or in the backseat with a doggy car seat. She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she has to go potty. She eats like a champ and takes her insulin well. She also does great at the vet and loves her vet clinic friends. She sleeps through the night and is very easy going. Sushi is not interested in toys but loves to chew on vet approved bones. She loves to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and she uses dog steps to get on. She can safely jump down as long as the floor is not slippery. I have a dog stroller for Sushi and she happily will sit in it and go for a ride or sleep in it when I am sitting at the computer. She enjoys going for short walks and gets excited when you put her leash on! She also does a very funny trot out in the backyard. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Sherman. An approx. 5-year-old neutered male JRT mix. Sherman is what we call a low rider due to his short legs, which doesn't stop him from jumping onto the couch to snuggle with his foster mom. Sherman has come a long way in the short time he's been with his foster family, but he is still cautious of new people and wary of men. Sherman was most likely not well socialized and needs someone who will show him patience and love as he continues to come out of his shell. He loves women and would most likely do best in a female only home and because he needs a quieter, slower paced environment, a home with children would not be an ideal situation. Sherman does love other dogs and has fun playing with his foster brother and sisters. He runs around the house wagging his tail, trying to get them to play. He really has a silly side that will come out even more as he learns to trust. He has a very JRT personality and at times tries to be bossy with the other dogs so dogs with a more submissive personality would be a better fit. Someone who has JRT breed experience is important as well. Sherman is crate trained and housebroken. He is fearful of walking on a leash, but we are working on making him more comfortable with it. He rides quietly in the car too. Overall, he is a very sweet, goofy little boy that just needs to find someone who will help him become more confident. He walks nicely on a leash and truly enjoys going for car rides, making him a great companion for outings and adventures. Buddy’s happiest place is right by his people’s side. He does not like being confined in a crate and prefers to be free and involved in daily life with his humans. Because of this, Buddy would do best in a home where he can spend plenty of time with his person and not be crated. Buddy can be uncomfortable around most men, so we are seeking a female-only home where he will feel safe and secure.
