Story
2 and a half Mira has been a blessing during a hard time in my life but I am disabled and cant give her the training she needs and my dad works and is very stressed by the messes she makes, she is usually very good with other dogs except for my older chihuahua who is the pack leader. She loves to play and will snuggle up under your blanket. My one request would be to maybe let me visit her every year or two I will miss her so much but I’m doing this so my dad can be happy.

Story
Hi, I’m Skippy! I’m a senior Jack Russell Terrier mix, weighing just 12 pounds but carrying a lifetime of charm. With age comes wisdom, and I’ve already mastered the basics—so now I get to skip straight to the fun. Toys, car rides, and snuggles are my specialties, and I bring plenty of enthusiasm to each. I may be small, but I’m clever, curious, and full of personality. Most of all, I’m a true peopledog, happiest when I’m right by your side. Favorite Things: Skippy is absolutely toyobsessed. He doesn’t just play with them—he invents his own games, hiding toys under blankets and then triumphantly finding them again. He delights in car rides, cozy dog beds, and light blankets that double as props for his playful antics. Training and Manners: Skippy is house trained as long as he’s let out regularly. He walks nicely on a leash, though his excitement can lead to a few barks at other dogs—even on TV. His activity level is just right: playful when it’s time for fun, but content to relax, at night he snoozes peacefully in his dog bed. Health and Care: Skippy is a healthy boy! He is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered. While he doesn’t require professional grooming, regular baths and nail trims will keep him looking and feeling his best. Like any dog, he’ll need monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Other Animals: Skippy enjoys the company of other dogs and greets them with excitement. He hasn’t been tested with cats, and given his enthusiasm, we think a house without cats or animals like bunnies would be best. Children: This cutie is a social butterfly who adores children of all ages. His affectionate and playful personality makes him a wonderful family dog. Ideal Home: Whether it’s an apartment, condo, or house, Skippy thrives where someone is around more often than not. When left alone, he prefers to settle in a secure area of the house, though he’d much rather be with his people. His preference for company is simply a reflection of how much he enjoys being part of the action and sharing life sidebyside. Overall: Skippy is the definition of a peoplelover. He wants to be the center of attention and will happily entertain with his toy games and clever antics. He’s smart, communicative, endlessly affectionate and ready to fill your home with joy, laughter, and love. Is Skippy the loyal companion you’ve been waiting for? Then visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $250. ##2570483##

Story
He has been with his owner since he was a few days old and has always lived with the same owners. He is very cheerful, playful, and always needs attention and lots of affection. He plays with other dogs and children and can spend the whole day playing. He is very intelligent and obedient. Because his owner works very long hours and he is alone in her apartment, he is looking for another family that can give him more attention and take good care of him.

Story
Sushi is being fostered in CT. Sushi loves to cuddle and would love to have her own person and family; however she would do best as an only dog so she can get all the love to herself. She travels great in the car and will either sit on your lap for a short trip or in the backseat with a doggy car seat. She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she has to go potty. She eats like a champ and takes her insulin well. She also does great at the vet and loves her vet clinic friends. She sleeps through the night and is very easy going. Sushi is not interested in toys but loves to chew on vet approved bones. She loves to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and she uses dog steps to get on. She can safely jump down as long as the floor is not slippery. I have a dog stroller for Sushi and she happily will sit in it and go for a ride or sleep in it when I am sitting at the computer. She enjoys going for short walks and gets excited when you put her leash on! She also does a very funny trot out in the backyard. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Sherman. An approx. 5-year-old neutered male JRT mix. Sherman is what we call a low rider due to his short legs, which doesn't stop him from jumping onto the couch to snuggle with his foster mom. Sherman has come a long way in the short time he's been with his foster family, but he is still cautious of new people and wary of men. Sherman was most likely not well socialized and needs someone who will show him patience and love as he continues to come out of his shell. He loves women and would most likely do best in a female only home and because he needs a quieter, slower paced environment, a home with children would not be an ideal situation. Sherman does love other dogs and has fun playing with his foster brother and sisters. He runs around the house wagging his tail, trying to get them to play. He really has a silly side that will come out even more as he learns to trust. He has a very JRT personality and at times tries to be bossy with the other dogs so dogs with a more submissive personality would be a better fit. Someone who has JRT breed experience is important as well. Sherman is crate trained and housebroken. He is fearful of walking on a leash, but we are working on making him more comfortable with it. He rides quietly in the car too. Overall, he is a very sweet, goofy little boy that just needs to find someone who will help him become more confident. If you live in the Central Florida area and think this goofy little low rider would be a good fit in your home, please fill out an application and tell us more about yourself. December 3, 2025, 8:56 pm
