Story
HELLO!!! My name is Scruffy!!  I am a special guy with some special requirements but I am hopeful I can find my family really soon.  Please read my full bio before applying (I worked very hard on it). I came to the rescue in June 2023 after running as a stray in an Indianapolis neighborhood for at least 4 months.  The shelter life was not for me so I was placed in a safe and warm foster home with Tracking in the Shadows.  I am about 3 years old and 18 lbs.  I am nervous and fearful around new people and experiences and will need slow introductions and a quiet home with not a lot of strangers going in and out.  I love to run and play with other dogs.  I love my toys.  I love them so much sometimes I destroy them.  I am also housetrained and I do well in a crate/kennel although I feel more comfortable with extra space to move around.  I am very treat motivated and need to continue working on confidence building with fear free force free classes or a personal trainer.  I like to do the zoomies around the yard.  I will absolutely NEED a SECURE fenced in yard and another confident dog (or dogs) in the home!  These are non negotiable for me.  I also like going on walkies and am pretty good on the leash but do need someone that can help me with my loose leash walking skills. I am ok with cats.  I would probably do ok with older teenage children that'll give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable.  I need a patient home that'll understand it may take months before I feel comfortable enough to even allow touch.  Once I am comfortable though I am very sweet and snuggly.  I promise you I am worth it!   Scruffy is fully vetted and microchipped and his adoption fee has been sponsored by his friends down in Indianapolis.  Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com.  Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. **We do not accept electric/underground fences. Nicholas is about 4 years old now. He is a spunky little guy. He prefers to not be touched. He is scared of people but is learning to trust humans. He keeps a clean kennel and goes outside to go potty. Nick needs a home that is quiet that will allow him to decompress and time to begin to trust. He will require a fenced in yard. He is neutered, up to date on shots, rabies, heartworm negative and on prevention. His adoption fee is $300. ##1290873##

Story
Julep loooooves her humans intensely and is an extreme snuggler. At 6, she spends plenty of her day curled up on the couch (which isn't a problem for us because she doesn't shed much). But she is also plenty energetic, active, and athletic when given the opportunity. Julep currently lives in a home with small children and gets along with them well, except that she can get jumpy when you come through the door, and my kiddos don't love that. She takes anxiety meds to tone down her excitability. I wouldn't give up this dog for anything in the world, except that since moving to a new home last year, I haven't been able to give her the care she needs. Julep does not get along with other dogs and cannot be allowed contact with them. I now live in a home next to a sidewalk where dogs are often walked, and my HOA doesn't allow me to have a style of fence that Julep can't climb. I'm looking for a loving home for our sweet pup where she can get exercise without having access to other dogs.
