Story
Douglas is super playful, friendly, smart, and very high energy. He is kennel trained and learns new commands quickly. He is good with meeting new people including kids, but he gets extremely excited and tends to jump, so babies or toddlers may not be a good fit. He needs a home with a yard so he has space to run. He LOVES to run and is extremely fast, but he's never ran away when he gets out of the fence. He needs to be stimulated--he loves training sessions and showing off how smart he is. We are planning a move and will have to give up our big fenced-in yard, so that is why we are searching for a new home for him.

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This adorable little terrier is Coco!  She was found running around town and picked up by a kind person who took her home.  No one called looking for her and now she is up for adoption.  Coco is a smart girl that loves to play!  She is high energy and loves to go for walks. She is learning that kitties are not to be chased and working on some obedience commands.  She has been very good about house training and does well riding in the car.  We are guessing Coco to be a Jack Russel, rat terrier mix or something similar.  She is not quite 20 pounds but has long legs. Coco is only about a year old and has lots of puppy in her.  She absolutely loves her toys and chewy things.  Coco is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $300.00 September 23, 2023, 6:37 pm

Story
HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email ARL-Adoption@arl-iowa.org.---- Enjoys pets and will hop into your lap if you invite him - Very sweet boy who is looking for a quiet home where he can just sit back and enjoy life with his new family - Likes going on walks and sniffing around - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him; will be happiest in a mature home - Can be shy and unsure around other dogs and is generally more of an introvert (dog intro recommended) - Needs a home with no cats The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 21.7 Age: 7yrs 3mths 0wks

Story
Here comes Brendan Ray, a Terrier and Toy Poodle mix, born 8/24/23.  This little guy is learning how to be a puppy and is dreaming about his furever home!  He will do best in a home with older children.  We’ll share updates as we learn more about his personality!  Brendan Ray will be ready for adoption after 10/20/23. The suggested adoption donation for Brendan Ray is $650. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed of neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
