Betty is a 10.5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. This sweet old lady was sadly abandoned in Louisiana, but thanks to an amazing rescue down there, she made her way up to us—ready to find the forever home she deserves to spend her golden years in comfort. Betty adores people. She’ll happily trot along behind you from room to room just to be near you, and if there’s a lap available, she will find her way onto it. Pets, cuddles, and companionship are her favorite things in the world. Don’t let her age fool you—Betty still gets the zoomies when she’s feeling extra happy! She’ll run around with surprising pep until she tires herself out, then it’s right back to snuggling. She occasionally plays with toys and has a soft spot for stuffed ones. Betty is a small girl and does have a few age-related lumps, all of which are benign. She has no known health conditions, is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, and is an easy, low-maintenance companion. She does well with other dogs—she’ll happily play with pups closer to her size and is politely indifferent to larger dogs. She also does great with cats and kids, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Betty would thrive with anyone looking to give a senior lady a soft place to land, a warm lap to curl up in, and lots of love for the rest of her days. In return, she’ll give you unwavering devotion and the sweetest companionship. Daisy is a sweet, young pup with a heart full of love, but she’s had a rough start. Just under a year old, she was surrendered due to extreme separation anxiety and is going to need a little extra support at first. At the shelter, she has just started treatment for anxiety and will likely need continued care post-adoption.Daisy would thrive in a home where she can slowly learn structure and that being apart from her people is okay. This may include kennel training, extra exercise, and plenty of enrichment activities to help her build confidence and, hopefully, be weaned off her anxiety medication over time.Despite her struggles, Daisy is a loving, sweet girl who is ready to give all the affection she has to offer to the right person who is willing to help her along her journey.Our dog adoption fee is $150 and includes her spay, heartworm testing, up-to-date vaccinations and preventatives, and her microchip. Sugar is just as sweet as her name! She is a Terrier mix, born 9/23/24. Sugar LOVES toys! She's curious and playful. She is going to need a lot of time to warm up to her people - so PATIENCE is a must - BUT her foster mom says after a couple weeks, she's become the cuddliest little sweetie and asks for tummy scratches like they're going out of style! Sugar also loves running and playing with other dogs. She's quick to make dog friends at all of her play dates. Sugar needs a fenced yard to zoom around in. We think it would be helpful for her to to have a confident dog sibling to show her the ropes. Sugar is good at using potty pads, but she is learning to potty outside. If you're interested in meeting Sugar, please contact us or apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Sugar is $475, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for -name- are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. ******FOR REACTIVE/FEARFUL DOGS ONLY Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.
