Story
Hi, my name is Bandit and I was recently surrendered back to Pets Alive as my Mom wasn't able to care for me anymore. I'm an 11 year old sweet old man that would like to find a home as the kennel is big and scary to me. I walk well on leash and I am house trained. **Please Note** Our pet listings update automatically every 4 hours, so they are as current as possible. Our dogs are physically located and fostered in North Carolina until they are adopted. Once they are adopted we can transport them to your location or any of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a a very affordable transporter who comes north every other week. This boy is a Jack Russell mix. He was born 1-4-2023. This boy weighs around 15 pounds and he is extremely social and great with adults and older children and other animals except cats. He likes to chase cats. This boy has been started on crate training and potty training. Willie had horrible skin when he came in. He had a horrible flea allergy. He must remain on good flea prevention such as Bravecto, Nexgard, or similar prevention. We have gotten his skin nearly straightened out. This furbay will go home neutered, current on vaccines, preventives and microchipped. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Lil Kangaroo has a name that suites him to a T!  This little guy is tenacious in facing some hard things in life and we find him to be spunky and courageous  Adding to this courage, he is also a confident, intelligent boy that has endured the hard times when his human family could struggle no longer and keep him. He was reluctantly surrendered to our rescue.  What we have found is a wonderful dog and and we have delighted in see what a truly beloved boy he is.  This dog would fit in anywhere, anytime, anyway.  Lil Kangaroo is a 2 year old, 27 pound Jack Russell mix boy that is living in a foster home with two big foster fur brothers that don’t have anything ahead of Lil Klinger.   He can and does run with the best of them. He’s housetrained, loves car rides, happily accompanies his foster dad on his long walks and the active adventures his human dad loves to go on.  This boy, Kangaroo loves to explore and live life to the fullest with lots of new experiences. He embraces all the new things and enjoys playing with his toys and is ALWAYS ready for playtime.  If you are looking for a couch potatoe then Klinger would qualify only on short term moments.  He is a great and active breed that makes a wonderful family dog that you will spend time with and actively seek the exercise time that he needs.   He would be a wonderful dog for a  young family, young couple or a  young single person that is a runner, an explorer and a dog owner that might even want to do some agility activities together.  Of course Kangaroo is neutered , UTD on all vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm prevention with a clear fecal and wormings done. We admit, we are partial when it comes to Lil Kangaroo. He is one of the cuter and definitely the nicest small dog you could find or consider for your life partner. Don’t let this one get away!  If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let’s start this ball rolling for his new forever committed home and family. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 19, 2024, 11:36 am

Story
We are almost finished introducing you to all the new dogs we have taken in the past couple weeks 😰 Meet Columbo, one of the most skittish of the 10 little ones we took in from the home that ended up with too many dogs due to lack of spay/neuter. The males in the home all wore very tight double layer belly band wraps over their “boy parts” to keep them from continuing to breed and have more litters. A creative solution for sure, though spay/neuter would have been much more effective and humane and they wouldn’t be getting skin infections from being constantly wrapped in pee soaked diapers. The real mystery 🕵️‍♀️ of Columbo is where he got his long legs from… he’s the tallest of the bunch, with most of them having short stubby little doxie dwarf legs 🤷‍♀️. They are all supposedly a mix of doxie, Shih tzu, poodle, and some kind of terrier. So maybe it’s the poodle in there that gave him his stilts. Or a taller Jack Russell. He’s a skittish panicky guy who uses his long athletic legs to fly away from new people and things that scare him, but he’s learning from the friendlier dogs to feel safe and warm up. He’s under 3 years old and 20lbs with the cutest wiry beard. Like the rest of his clan, he will need a calm adult patient home with at least one other doggie friend in the home to help him adjust to life outside of the only home and away from the only people he ever knew. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Columbo in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
