🐾 Meet Tobias! 🐾Male | 2–3 Years | 13 lbs | Believed Corgi MixAdoption Fee: $250Tobias is a sweet, shy little guy who just needs a patient, understanding home to help him blossom. The first thing you’ll notice about him is… he is loud. 😂 He’s all bark and no bite — a goofy, vocal wild child who uses his voice to tell the world how he feels. Underneath all that noise, though, he’s incredibly sweet.Tobias is a bit unsure when meeting new people and may bark or growl at first, but he is very food-motivated and can be won over quickly with treats and kindness. Once he trusts you, his gentle, affectionate side shines. Outside his kennel he is a super sweet boy who just wants to be near his people. He enjoys the company of other dogs and does especially well with confident dogs around his size — he’s used to sharing his space with other pups. He did great meeting small dogs and was a little nervous around a large poodle, but still showed interest in making friends. One adorable thing he does? He loves following Wilma around like her tiny shadow. 💛Tobias may not be a couch potato all the time — he’s more of a spirited little adventurer — but he does love napping on couches and riding in cars. He would do best in a patient home willing to give him the time he needs to settle in and learn that the world is safe. With time and consistency, he will be a wonderful, loyal companion. We are unsure how he is with kids or cats.✨ Medical Info:Tobias is vaccinated, flea & tick treated, tested negative for heartworm and Lyme, and will be microchipped and neutered before adoption. If you’re looking for a quirky, vocal, lovable little guy who just needs a chance — Tobias may be your perfect match! 🐶💕You can apply on our website www.highlandhumanesociety.org OR stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Tuesday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption.Take advantage of our foster-to-adopt program, where you can take any dog 4 mos and older home for a week to make sure it is a good fit before committing to adoption.

Story
Jack has overcome a challenging experience and is now ready to thrive in a new forever home. After recovering from minor injuries sustained during an altercation with a younger housemate, Jack is back to his vibrant self. This charming 10-year-old Jack Russell mix boasts a unique appearance, with short, stubby legs and a long torso, and has a delightful habit of offering handshakes with his stubby legs. Fully vetted and up-to-date on all vaccinations, Jack is also house-trained, crate-trained, and well-behaved during travel and bath time. He has mastered basic commands like sit, shake, and stay. While Jack would flourish in almost any home, unfortunately, he cannot cohabitate with cats. We are confident that there is a perfect family out there eager to welcome this lovable companion into their lives. If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Story
LORELAI GILMORE is a stunning scruffy young dog looking for a home. She is a timid girl, our best guess is a Jack Russell Terrier-type mix, about 11 months old and fully grown at 24 pounds. She's a beautiful girl who literally wears her heart on her hip. Lorelai loves her doggie friends. She's good with older, dog-savvy kids and kitties. She prefers women over men. Lorelai needs a home with a dog-experienced adopter who will take the time needed to earn her trust. She must have a confident, playful dog sibling and is best suited to a home with a physically-fenced yard. She's housebroken, crate trained and walks well on a leash.   Lorelai and her sister Rory were found dumped in the woods earlier this year. Both girls were adopted a few months ago but Lorelai Gilmore was recently returned due to a change in family circumstances. Lorelai prefers women and is best suited to a quiet home where there won't be lots of strangers coming and going. If you'd like to meet Lorelai, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. All our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Kuma (10 months old) is a very cuddly loving dog. He loves affection and is very playful, he will stick by your side wherever you go and is very loyal and a good listener. I work a lot, and I know he deserves a better home. He would do great in a home with other people and animals. He gets along with cats and dogs (of all sizes). He is potty trained, he doesn’t have accidents at my house anymore, but he may need to get used to your house. It shouldn’t be an issue though. I of course will provide you with everything he needs (food, bed, crate, toys, treats, leash, collar, brush, dog soap, etc.). I really want him to go to a loving home like he deserves, if you would like to meet him before you make a decision that is completely okay with me! He is shy to new people at first but is quick to be cuddly.

Story
I recently had a baby and have another child under 2 years old. It has become too much for our household to care for a dog as well. Odie is 3 years old and has been fully potty trained. However he started marking territory in our house a few months ago. I suspect he needs to be potty trained again which is too much for our family to take on having 2 small children and another child. Odie is very loving and energetic. He would be a great companion for someone who can give him the time and attention he needs.
