Story
Gerry and Lance were rescued from a hoarding situation. Both of these pals get along so well that we have decided they must be adopted together. Gerry is a 3 year old fluffy male Pomeranian mix and Lance is a 2 year old Jack Russell mix. Both dogs weigh less than twelve pounds. They were really frightened when they first arrived but volunteers have worked hard to make them feel at home. Gerry and Lance are settling in now and we are finally beginning to see their true personalities. Calm and quiet, these two prefer to take things slow when meeting new people. Once you form a bond with them, Gerry and Lance will be your devoted best friends. These shy little pups would do well in a home with adults only. Both get along well with other dogs that respect their space. They enjoy snuggling together and spending time outside in our play yard. Gerry and Lance are doing well with their housetraining. A home with a fenced in backyard would be ideal to keep them safe when outside. Gerry and Lance are fully vetted and ready to spend the best years of their life with you. Are you ready to give them a home?To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
Bart is a quiet, calm 10.6 Jack Russell/Cattle Dog mix that was surrendered to us along with his companion, Tala. She is a beautiful eight year-old Siberian husky with crystal blue eyes. Their owner recently became homeless and was no longer able to care for them. A tiny little fella, Bart weighs fourteen pounds while Tala towers over him at seventy pounds. These two may be an odd couple but it seems to work well for them. We would be overjoyed if Bart and Tala were adopted together, but will separate them if it means getting each a wonderful home. Friendly and outgoing, Tala has more energy than Bart and enjoys being outdoors where she can run; but she is not overactive. A home with a large fenced in backyard would be ideal to give her the space to exercise. In the home, Tala is calm and very well behaved. Though she gets along well with her little buddy, Bart, Tala is best with larger dogs. Small dogs and cats are not a good fit for her. Bart is more reserved and enjoys a sedate lifestyle puttering around the house. So, you have the best of both worlds; one dog to lounge on the couch with and the other to take on long walks. Both dogs would do well with an adult or family with children over eight. Bart and Tala are housebroken and should easily adapt to your home. As long as they can be with you, they will be content and happy. Bart and Tala are fully vetted and anxious to find their new home.To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
What do you get when you have a happy dog? Smiles and giggles; of course! Noah doesn't seem to mind being in a shelter. He loves to go walking, enjoys stuffed animals, pull toys and snuggling with one of his peeps. He rolled on his back as soon as someone sat next to him. You ought to see the smile when he's getting a belly rub or a back massage! This 3-year old, 28#, JRT mix (that's what he looks like) has an old injury (in his right hip/leg)which was never corrected. It affects his gait ever so slightly. His little white body has brown markings and small brown freckles everywhere! Too cute! Recently Noah was fostered while the kennel renovation took place. This is what his foster mom had to say about him. “ I think he was house trained but will need a refresher for sure. No resource/food guarding. Waited patiently to be fed and ate well. He loves to chase the tennis ball. So much so that I limited it so as not to cause him pain. Speaking of which, his legs don’t really seem to bother him at all!! He jumps on most everything to investigate. As I imagine his mix of breeds dictates, he must sniff everything. He is food/treat motivated, will sit for a treat. He is wonderful in the crate at night as long as it’s covered. He even used it for naps. Noah is overall a great little companion, got along great with my dog and is very trainable!”Noah is waiting to meet you! You'll find him in Blue Ridge, GA. Story
Hello there, I'm Pearson! Coming in at a perfect 17 lbs, I'm the full package canine companion. Playing is so much fun, especially when water is involved, so be prepared for some laughs. Additionally, I'm the ideal mix of active and chill, so equally enjoy curling up on the couch for Netflix marathons and lazy Sundays. I take awhile to warm up, but once I do I want to be near my people. It's okay to be left alone for a few hours, but it's no fun being lonely all day and I'd prefer a family who is home most of the day. As a treat motivated pup, I will be an excellent student and eager to please. My ideal home will have a small female canine sibling. I'm just so sweet and gentle with them. I don't like being bullied by dominant male dogs, so would prefer to socialize with the ladies. Pearson is between 4-5 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He would do best in an adult-only home with a fenced yard (no underground fences). To meet gentle Pearson, submit an application at wetnosesanimalrescue.org.
