Story
Check out this cutie! Summit is a male Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix born September 2020. He is the perfect companion for an adult only home. Summit forms a strong bond with his owner and sometimes can be protective. He might be a bit standoffish in the beginning. We believe this is something from his past. He is a happy little dog when playing with his pals outside. Summit would enjoy the companionship of a well-mannered dog in his new home. If you own a dog, we can arrange a playdate to see if they are a match. He is already housebroken and would enjoy a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play safely. Summit is a great little dog that will make some lucky family a fabulous pet.To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
Bart is a reserved 12 year old Jack Russell/Cattle dog mix. In his 12 years, this wise man has seen a lot. He is his own judge of character. Prefers a quiet and calm life. He now shares our lobby with several other friendly, playful pups and he does well. He hangs around to meet new adopters and guests. Might say hello to some or might just walk away. We know he has a crush on our Executive Director. A home including a male would be good. He does well with others when he can approach on his terms. Another dog in the home would be great. He is also good with cats. Might take Bart a minute to settle in, however, we believe with patience, love, kindness, the trust will come. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
Allow me to introduce Smith! This precious boy is around 6 months old. We believe he is a rat terrier mix. This little guy, along with 2 others were dumped on a back country road and left for dead. An amazing woman posted them in her neighborhood app and Renee immediately called us after she received the notification. We happily said yes, as the freeze was coming. We wanted them out of the cold.Smith has really opened up since he has been in rescue.  He is a silly boy but mostly just a total sweetheart He is friendly with everyone and everything. He will make the great addition to a wonderful family.Smith is neutered, HW-negative, current on vaccines and preventions, microchipped and comes with a special geo tag. If you feel Smith is your next fur child, then please visit our website to fill out an application!www.TiggerTown.com  ##2292938##

Story
Although he is only one year old, Kirin is a calm, gentle, easy-going rat terrier mix who wants nothing more than to be your constant companion. This cuddly 24 lb. lover boy will follow you around like a loyal shadow and eagerly accept your caresses and hugs. Kirin takes treats courteously and delicately, and he is quiet in the house, even when the doorbell rings or the FedEx guy makes a delivery. He meets strangers a little tentatively but completely amiably and will be asking them for pats within a minute. Some other dogs can initially make him anxious, but if they aren't too pushy he will share cautious sniffs and then accept them as a new friend. Like a perfect gentleman, Kirin has reliable house-training and nice house manners, although his dislike of being left alone could tempt him to try to sneakily follow you out the door or to cry/bark initially when left behind. Being very laid-back, he isn't particularly interested in playing with toys or engaging in romp/wrestle/chase games, but he'll sometimes get frisky for a while before settling down to his normal serenity. He do es very much enjoy going on walks and is a nice, loose leash walker. Kirin has recently learned the 'sit' and 'come' commands and quickly figured out the doggie door, and he is just starting to add 'stay' to his repertoire.  His focus and desire to please will undoubtedly help him as he learns new verbal cues.  So far h e is adamantly resisting crate training. He refuses to go into a crate on his own, and must be firmly 'nudged' inside, but once in he doesn't get overly worked up . If a gentle, super-friendly, and adorably affectionate young buddy is what you're looking for, you'll definitely want to consider Kirin! Please check out more photos of him and some videos in his online album at  www.ImageEvent.com/beales/fosters/kirin. Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. April 20, 2025, 12:52 pm
