Story
Jackie is a 14-month-old Jack Russell terrier with a sweet disposition. This high energy young boy loves to play. Perfect sized companion for hikes, runs, or frisbee! Smart as a whip, quick as lightning, and sweet as sugar, Jackie is amazing. May not be suited to be around small farm animals or cats - JRT's have a strong prey/chasing drive. He needs an active home with a secure fence. Jack Russell Terriers need to be active. They are not suited to a sedate environment. They love to play ball. They are a happy dog and friendly with strangers and make great watchdogs. They are highly intelligent and learn very fast. Too little exercise, companionship and mental stimulation leads to boredom and destructive behavior. Jackie is fully vetted and ready to go home - his adoption fee is $50.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  HELP! I FINALLY been given a name and it's Isabella. That's right, not even a name. The rescue that's trying to save me, finally found out that I'm a little girl! I could be house trained and I'm probably good with other animals because I'm so young and friendly. They DO know that I'm sweet as anything and they know I want out of this shelter! Would you PLEASE be interested in foster me or even fostering me to adopt??? Love,Isabella *Due to my size, no small children If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at 865-236-0830. Please fill out a foster application on www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Adoption Fee $200 Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home dogs are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative. ****Puppies and kittens will be fixed when they are 4.5 months old. When they are adopted younger than 4.5 months, they MUST be adopted in East Tennessee.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. February 21, 2024, 3:22 pm

Story
Meet Bailey Baltimore, a young Bo-Jack (Boston Terrier/Jack Russell mix) looking for a home with a strong pack leader who is home more often than not. He had a rough start in life, but he has outstanding potential and deserves to find his special person (Bailey tends to attach himself to one person), someone that can provide continued postive reinforcement training and structure but also patience and unconditional love. Bailey is a spunky guy and would very much enjoy doing activites with his person to burn off his excess energy. He loves spending time exploring outside, so a fenced yard is preferred. It takes Bailey a little time to warm up to new faces, places and sounds. Food and treats are good motivators for him. He can be bouncy when excited, but also loves to snuggle and sleep in the big bed. He's pretty smart and has learned the commands sit, paw, crate, and leave it! The BasicsAge: 3 yrsWeight: 17 lbs Spayed/Neutered: YesMicrochipped: YesVaccines Up-to-Date: YesOn Heartworm Prevention: YesOn Flea Prevention: YesHouse-Trained: YesCrate-Trained: Yes, but he's not being crated in his current foster home and has never chewed anything he wasn't allowed to. Leash Skills: GoodLikes/Dislikes Toys: Likes hard chew toys, no stuffed/tug toys.Other Animals: Lives with 3 other well-socialized dogs in his foster home. He may be intimidated by some dogs, but does well with non-reactive dogs after slow introducation on leash.People/Kids: Adult-only home desired. Car Rides: He's an excellent passenger and sits quietly.Separation: May make some noise at first, but settles down quickly. Leaving music on helps, but does not like to be alone/crated for extended periods of time.Contact/Application Info Questions?
