Story
Diego Jr. is a sweet, curious boy with a playful spark and a heart full of love. He enjoys fetch, toys, and nice walks where he can explore the world at his own pace. Diego has experience living with other dogs and has good interactions with his canine friends. He's crate trained, and would love a home where he can be part of the daily routine. He may be a little shy at first and can be nervous with loud noises or being left alone, but with patience and reassurance, his affectionate and active personality really shines. Diego Jr. has a condition called Masticatory Myositis (Eosinophilic Myositis), which is a condition that affects the muscles used for chewing. In simple terms, his body mistakenly targeted those jaw muscles, causing some muscle loss, which is why his head looks a little more sunken in than other dogs. The good news is that he's being monitored and is on a treatment plan and doing well with medication and routine follow-up care! It’s not contagious and doesn’t affect his loving personality. Diego just needs some extra consistency with his medical care and safe chew enrichment to help keep those jaw muscles active. What he truly needs most is a committed home ready to give him the love and comfort he deserves!

Story
Sputnik is a young male pup with all the fun, bouncy energy you’d expect from a puppy discovering the world for the first time. Everything is new to him, and while he can be a little unsure at first, you can see his bravery shining through as he takes it all in. He wants to experience life, one curious sniff at a time. He’s already showing how smart and eager to learn he is. Sputnik needs a bit of leash training, but he picks things up quickly and tries his best to understand what you’re asking. With a patient, loving human by his side, he’ll blossom into a confident adventure buddy. This little guy has a playful streak too — give him a squeaky toy and he lights right up. And when he’s ready to relax, he’ll flop into a perfect puppy sploot, legs stretched behind him like he’s melting into the floor.Sputnik is looking for someone who can help him grow, cheer him on, and show him that the world is a safe and exciting place. If you’re ready for a sweet, spirited pup who’s eager to learn and even more eager to love, Sputnik might just be your perfect match. Seamus was found abandoned on a road. He is a cuddly, playful boy who gets along great with other dogs. Seamus is pee pad trained but not truly housebroken yet. He's not yet neutered, but either will be prior to adoption, or part of the adoption fee will be refunded after proof of neutering. Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.
