Story
Diego Jr. is a sweet, curious boy with a playful spark and a heart full of love. He enjoys fetch, toys, and nice walks where he can explore the world at his own pace. Diego has experience living with other dogs and has good interactions with his canine friends. He's crate trained, and would love a home where he can be part of the daily routine. He may be a little shy at first and can be nervous with loud noises or being left alone, but with patience and reassurance, his affectionate and active personality really shines. Diego Jr. has a condition called Masticatory Myositis (Eosinophilic Myositis), which is a condition that affects the muscles used for chewing. In simple terms, his body mistakenly targeted those jaw muscles, causing some muscle loss, which is why his head looks a little more sunken in than other dogs. The good news is that he's being monitored and is on a treatment plan and doing well with medication and routine follow-up care! It’s not contagious and doesn’t affect his loving personality. Diego just needs some extra consistency with his medical care and safe chew enrichment to help keep those jaw muscles active. What he truly needs most is a committed home ready to give him the love and comfort he deserves!

Story
Nanna lights up the world with a bright, open-mouthed grin and an infectious, puppy-like enthusiasm for life. A true social butterfly, her happiest moments involve exploring the world nose-first, greeting every new person with gentle affection, and initiating playful games of tug-of-war with her favorite toys. She possesses a natural charisma that draws people in, and she happily extends her friendship to dogs of all shapes and sizes. This curious girl treats every day like an adventure. While she will happily chase after any toy you throw, she prefers to keep the fun going by playing keep-away rather than bringing it back, turning playtime into a joyful, interactive game. Her high-energy charm and affectionate nature make her a fantastic companion for anyone looking to add a spark of playfulness and loyal companionship to their daily routine. He’s about a year old and is in great physical condition. He’s neutered and vaccinated. Larry needs another home. He’s not real fond of other dogs so being an “only child” will be right up his alley! He will be able to have all the love and attention. Larry is still so young that he is going to need a lot of attention and training. He needs a patient owner and someone who is willing to be kind and loving with him. His new owner needs a securely fenced yard. No electronic fencing, and no wrought iron unless it is screened. If you are interested in Larry, you will need to go to RussellRescue.com and fill out the online adoption application. Larry is not a Russell Rescue dog. All inquiries should be directed to Jackie’s owner at ken.kattner@gmail.com Jackie is a spayed female a little over a year old. She is a beautiful healthy girl. She is fully vetted. Jackie loves to go for walks/runs. Actually, she loves any kind of activity. Her new owner needs to be able to keep up with her. When it’s time to settle down she is a snuggle bunny. She is very loving and affectionate. She loves people. Jackie weighs about 45 pounds. She requires a home with no children. Also, no little critters such as gerbils/parakeets and no farm animals such as chickens, lambs, ducks, etc. Jackie would probably enjoy another dog as a playmate, but something male, her size, and young with the same energy level.
