Story
Olive is a very sweet and shy little girl. She does well with other dogs and cats, but gets a little anxious around things like bikes. She prefers to be the one to engage you, and can get a little shy when given too much direct attention (she just scampers away). She's very loyal and very smart (definitely trainable). She knows her name and comes when called, she is house-trained and can sit & shake. I'm posting this hoping to find a good home for her, she would do well with a backyard and plenty of room to run and explore. She would make an excellent hiking companion, and loves to run/ pull you with her harness. I lost my job a while back, and while I love her so much, she needs more room to run around then I am currently able to provide, as we live in an apartment. She needs a gentle, understanding, loving home, and will flourish when given a chance. She is a little quirky girl, but she is so loving. I'm posting so she gets the life she deserves.

Story
Cooper was bought at a pet store in Utah & brought to Texas as a puppy by my daughter I think he was 6 weeks old). He's lived with us for 8 years (May 1st he will be 9 years old). We thought our daughter would eventually take him when she married, but she's decided he was better off in Texas. I am disabled & my husband is already busy helping me, so we'd like to find him a new home. He's mostly house-trained but hasn't been properly trained. He likes to sleep in the same room, if he can, & loves the outdoors. He has anxiety with rain/thunderstorms & also has separation anxiety. Cooper loves all people and is the best dog for making you feel loved when you return home. Because of the shitzu mix, he is active but not as hyper as Jack Russells can be. He enjoys a good nap but will go for a walk and play as long as you can.

Story
Please contact JoEllen (sagdinfo@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/       ** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX. Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process.  Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Carl is a fun, young (2 years old?), little guy. (He weighs 20#) We didn't DNA him, but he makes us wonder if he is part Whippet because of his long legs and how much he loves doing zoomies!  He also has many Jack Russell traits.  He is quite a character.  He loves to run and play, but if you want to have cuddle time, he is happy with that too.  He'll even let you hold him on his back like a baby.  He needs to go to an active family as well as one that is willing to set ground rules for his antics. Carl has been diagnosed with heartworm infection.  Dogs acquire heartworm infections when they are bitten by a mosquito that was infected with heartworm larvae.  He was given a Proheart 12 shot in April to start the "slow kill" method for destroying these worms.  He will not need more heartworm prevention until October at which time we will test him to see if he is negative. Dogs with heartworm infection live happy, high-quality lives as long as they are given appropriate care. Heartworm infection is relatively common in the United States so we are in need of caring adopters like you that are willing to open their home to a dog with heartworm infection. We think that our heartworm dogs have just as much to offer their new adopters as any other dog and they deserve a chance at life. Adopters will receive all the necessary medications needed to complete the heartworm treatment protocol. Carl also did test positive for anaplasmosis which is a bacteria infection caused by a tick bite and he has begun a 30-day course of doxycycline. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. His adoption fee is $150. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories. Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232.  Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional questions may be directed to sagdinfo@gmail.com. ** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX. Story
**Courtesy Post** Valentine lost the person she loved most in the world, her owner died. Valentine is 6-7 years old. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Her owner had been sick for a long time and when they passed away it left Valentine in need of a new home. Valentine was very protective of my sister and will need patience to gain trust again. She is understandably confused and sad. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt her. Valentine needs a securely fenced yard, but she definitely needs to be an indoor dog. She requires a home with no kiddos and no cats. Other dogs are ok as long as they are male dogs. Her adopter must be able to drive to the Georgetown, Texas area to get her. There is a small rehoming fee. If you are interested in giving Valentine a forever home, please contact her owner at dwdulle@gmail.com and they will email you an adoption application.
