Story
Biscuit is approximately 6-7 years old, fixed, and a mixed breed with primarily JRT. We adopted her in 2018 and has a history of abuse with her previous owner. She’s a sweet girl, but has shown aggression towards our toddler recently. She has a history of resource guarding which has improved, but despite working with a trainer she has not improved in her interactions with small kids. Biscuit is a great running partner, loves to play outside, and would do best in a home without other dogs unless properly introduced and socialized, and should not be in a home with small children. We love Biscuit, but cannot risk that her recent growls and nip turn into a bite with small children in the house.

Story
Coal is a tripod due to a badly injured front leg when he was found on the side of the road by a kind stranger. Coal was taken straight to the vet but his leg was badly damaged. A second opinion at a specialist verified his leg had severe nerve damage. Coal was 4 months old at the time. The surgeon wanted to wait until he was 6 months old. Coal was covered in fleas, thin and had a skin infection. 2 months later he had his surgery. Having 3 legs does not slow him down. Coal plays well with other dogs. He is slow to warm up to men especially big men. He has a lot of energy and needs exercise. He needs an experienced dog owner with a good vet history. He is not a dog for a first time dog owner. We are looking for a home with a secured fence, no apartments. Applicants must live in the Austin area multiple visits will be required. No toddlers he is unsure of quick sudden movement. He loves to play ball and hang out with his human. Homes with other dogs require a meet & greet with Coal. Must be willing to crate train. He must never be left outside unsupervised. No swimming pools.

Story
Lily is AKC, 7 years old, and weighs 12 lbs. She’s a real honey and is great with people. She loves to please her owner and is always up for anything. We have 2 other dogs, very small Yorkies - sisters from the same litter. They are both 16 years old and grew up with Lily her whole life but they are becoming more & more delicate with age. But Lily is still Lily and just 7 years old: Always ready to play and just too rambunctious for these other 2 little old ladies in their later years. It’s heartbreaking, but we have to find Lily a new loving home. Her new owners will LOVE and adore this little girl. She’s a real pistol. Loving, intelligent, energetic and fun. Yet like all dogs she loves to cuddle up on a blanket and take a nice long naps. She loves watching TV especially the series, “Survivor” as well as baseball, football - or any game involving a ball. She’s a real sports fan. She’s been extremely well cared for - annual dental cleanings, checkups, vaccines, with an amazing Vet.

Story
Wattson was a stray that ate scraps at my grandma's house in Mexico. Eventually she had a litter behind her house and her pups started to die. I rescued her and her last pup and brought them home. Wattson is now thriving and she loves to run and chase/bark at squirrels and wild bunnies. She will require a large yard to spend energy in because walks are not quite her enough for her. Wattson is good with other dogs and children, but due to her prey drive may not do well with cats. Although she loves to run, Wattson also loves to be around her person. She will tag along just about anywhere and beg for pets. She also potty trained very quickly but when she is afraid (think thunderstorms, or chasing her if she got out) she is prone to accidents. She does well in a crate overnight though. One of Wattson's favorite things is to be carried, she will hang on to you as long as you are willing to let her. She is not keen of car rides though so lots of love is needed when transported.

Story
Carl is a 10 year old little guy with a very playful personality. He acts like a puppy and gets along with everyone. One of his favorite things is playing with other dogs. He also loves curling up beside you. We think that Carl was an outside dog because he was not neutered when we got him. He was not well treated and was extremely thin. We are working on the house training, but he’s a natural at being well behaved!!! No chewing or making a mess. And, can you believe it! He tolerates cats!!! Like all JRTs he needs a nice fenced yard to run around in. You must also have a good vet reference. Carl’s adoption fee is $200. If you are interested please fill out the online adoption application at www.RussellRescue.com Carl’s adopter must be able to drive to the Austin, Texas area to get him. Story
I was told Milo's breed is a Jack Russell although I do not have papers to support that. Milo is about 5 months old, handsome and intelligent. He is high energy and loves to play. He really needs a home where it is safe to run, jump and sniff outdoors. This breed of dog was bred to hunt small prey and once on the scent, he has a one track mind. JR’s will follow a fox into it’s hole and stay there for days without food or water until….? Yeah. I do not recommend him if there are small children because he loves to jump and playfully bite. His teeth are sharp. He is microchipped and vaccinated with one more DHPP due 4/22/23. He has an appointment with Emancipet to be neutered in July; the cost quoted is $89. Have you ever really loved a pet and only wanted what is best for him? That is how I feel about Milo. He belonged to my young grandchildren and it became evident he was too much for them to handle, so I brought him home with me. I live in an apartment which is not an ideal environment

Story
$100 rehoming fee for this pure bred Jack Russell. Meet Ranger, a two year old male, current on his shots and has been neutered. Ranger is a sweet, loving boy that loves to play ball, knows how to sit, stay, and give high fives. He loves to roll up in his blanket in his crate when he sleeps, and is crate trained. Ranger is a sweet baby, but likes to be the alpha dog. This is the reason we are attempting to rehome him. He can get aggressive to other dogs, but only nips. He loves to play with other dogs, if he is the largest pup. This is really a difficult decision for us, as we love him dearly, but we are working too many hours to give him the proper attention he deserves. He will come with his veterinary paperwork, no pure bred papers though. He is also ready for his 2023 vaccinations. We prefer him to be in a single dog household with no children. He is ready to learn new commands and loves his treats. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we hope it finds you well.
