Meet Dexter - Looking for the Right Forever Home!Dexter is a sweet, lovable boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can truly thrive. I rescued him from a shelter in March, and while I don't know what his life was like before then, it's clear he has been through a lot.He is the kind of dog who loves being near his people. He'll happily follow you from room to room just to see what you're doing and enjoys simply sitting beside you. While Dexter isn't comfortable being petted or picked up, he shows his affection by wanting to be close to the people he trusts. Once you've earned his confidence, he'll become your loyal little shadow.As much as I love him, I've made the heartbreaking decision to find him a new home because I have young children who don't fully understand that Dexter doesn't like being touched. With my kids and their friends frequently in the house, I can't provide the calm, predictable environment he needs to feel safe.

Summer is easy going, is around 2 years, 23lb, potty trained, stays free in the house well, can be on a crate, but does not love it. Sleeps all night in her dog bed super well. Absolutely happiest soaking up the sunshine, hanging out, soaking up her surrounding and snuggled up beside her favorite person. This petite sweetheart may be a little shy when you first meet her, but once she trusts you, she's incredibly loving and devoted. Summer dreams of a quiet home where she can enjoy a slower pace of life. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves chasing balls, playing with toys, and spending sunny afternoons sunbathing. At the end of the day, her favorite place is curled up on the couch for snuggles. She's the perfect balance of independent and affectionate—always happy to be near you without demanding constant attention. Currently being fostered in Austin, TX by loving human who adores her. She is very loving and affectionate. She loves people. Jackie weighs about 45 pounds. She requires a home with no children. Also, no little critters such as gerbils/parakeets and no farm animals such as chickens, lambs, ducks, etc. Jackie would probably enjoy another dog as a playmate, but something male, her size, and young with the same energy level. Hopefully, her new owners will not be gone all day. She needs interaction with her people.
