For such a young puppy, she has a wonderfully calm and friendly personality and gets along with everyone—including dogs, children, and cats. She's the kind of puppy who brings a lovely combination of youthful curiosity and an easygoing nature. Olivia is still discovering the world around her, and she has nearly her entire life ahead of her to learn, explore, and grow alongside her forever family. As a Jack Russell Terrier mix, Olivia may share traits commonly associated with the breed, including being intelligent, curious, playful, alert, energetic, and devoted to her people. Her calm personality today is wonderful, though adopters should remember that puppy personalities and activity levels can continue developing as dogs mature. Olivia would benefit from daily age-appropriate exercise, playtime, interactive toys, positive socialization, mental enrichment, and plenty of affection. Her friendly nature gives her a great foundation, and continued positive experiences will help her grow into a confident adult dog. Puppy Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Olivia is still very much a puppy. Her new family should be prepared for all the learning that comes with raising a young dog. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so her adopter should continue working on house training, leash manners, basic commands, recall, appropriate chewing, household boundaries, and positive socialization. Even naturally calm puppies need consistency and structure. Using positive reinforcement, patience, and repetition will help Olivia understand what is expected of her while building a strong bond with her family. Olivia should be allowed to adjust at her own pace. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Olivia's vaccinations are current for her age, and her spay will be completed when she reaches the appropriate age. Because she is still a young puppy, her adopter should continue working with a veterinarian to ensure she receives any remaining age-appropriate puppy vaccinations and boosters and stays on schedule for her future spay. Her ongoing care should include routine veterinary examinations, parasite prevention, dental care, quality puppy nutrition, healthy growth monitoring, nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary. Because Olivia is still growing, exercise should remain age appropriate. Excessive repetitive jumping, forced long-distance running, and other strenuous repetitive activities should be avoided while her body is developing.
