Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Morty, the charming Maltese on the lookout for my forever home. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Squeaky toys are my jam, and I'll happily gather them in my favorite bed for a play session. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll devour treats, fruits, and peanut butter like there's no tomorrow. While I may not be a fan of the kiddos under 12, I'm still working on mastering the art of potty training. I'm a quick learner, though, and with a little patience and consistency, I'll get there in no time. At night, I sleep quietly in my kennel, but I might get a bit chatty when I hear someone stirring in the morning. Now, about those stairs—I'm still getting the hang of them. I prefer homes with minimal stairs to spare my precious knees, but don't worry, I don't mind being carried. And if you lay out a trail of rugs on those slippery floors, I'll be forever grateful, especially in the kitchen where I love to supervise meal prep. In a nutshell, I'm cute, snuggly, and full of personality. I adore cuddling on the couch and striking my best playboy pose when you want to scoop me up. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend like me, let's make it happen! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a   particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Don’t confuse me with Ms Martha Stewart. Although we do share in common the love of being the boss (which is different from being bossy!) I am a happy little girl who loves life, toys and watching TV.  While you may prefer a good crime show, I like the Dog Whisperer, or something that has dogs on it so I can run up to the TV and get a closeup view.  I even like being in the fenced yard where I will run all around and even approach people walking by or something in the woods.  I won’t bark at them, but I do want them to notice me and my cute little self.  So I wag (ya know, the dog version of waving – hee hee). Squeaky toys are the best invention! I will chase it and retrieve it but can’t promise I’ll give it to you.  We can work on sharing skills – ha ha! I do like the other dogs in my foster home but I don’t require other ones. But I do need a fenced yard in my forever home.    I am potty trained and can also use a potty pad inside.  I’ve even had some walks on a leash, although I won’t say I’m an expert.  And you really can’t say I’m a barker.  But I have been known to let out a random bark for no reason other than to remind you I here. Oh and before I forget, please oh please rub my belly.  It’s the best thing since – well, since EVER!  I like it so much I might try to convince you to do it 24/7.  So if you’re on the hunt for a lap dog who is just adorable in every aspect, then I’m your gal! Furever yours? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hey there, lovely humans! I'm Mellie, the delightful 6-pound Maltese on a mission to fill your life with love and joy. I am really hoping to find a furever family that will help me come out of my shell and help me with my anxiety.  Here's the latest scoop on all the wonderful things happening in my world: I've been busy spreading love at my foster home, and I must say, I'm thriving! Bedtime is my favorite, and I've earned the title of "bed bug." Lately, I've started showing that I can be playful and have been engaging in some furry fun with both dogs and cats. Guess what? I've discovered a newfound love for soft foods and treats. Yum! I'm becoming less anxious and not pacing in circles as much as I settle into my foster home. As we all are, I'm a work in progress. Loud noises and overwhelming commotion can make me a bit uneasy, but hey, who doesn't have their quirks? Potty training is a team effort, and I'm giving it my all and will need to practice more in my furever home. Accidents? They happen, but I'm getting the hang of things. I'm all about that furry companionship, so another doggy friend in my furever home is a must for me. A fenced yard is also required for my safety. Barking isn't my thing, but I'll chime in occasionally in the crate or when a stranger is around. Cats? I'm respectful, maybe a little too eager to play, but I take my cues seriously. Timid, loving, and mellow – that's me in a nutshell. My flowing hair is a testament to the beauty growing within and around me. If you're home more often and looking for a laid-back, low-energy companion, I'm your girl. Cuddles, playtime, and companionship – I've got it all to offer. Ready to make me a part of your heart and home? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans.
