You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Tallahassee is a 9.5-pound Maltese senior with a soft spirit, a shy heart, and the sweetest presence you could ever hope for in a companion. She’s around 9–10 years old and has some medical needs, but she is full of love, calm energy, and quiet companionship. She is incredibly gentle and wonderfully quiet — truly a dream dog for anyone with shared walls or a peaceful home. She never barks for attention, food, or visitors. Instead, she prefers to quietly observe the world around her, taking her time to warm up before offering her trust. Once she feels safe, she loves being in the same room as her person, napping nearby, and soaking up the comfort of simply being close.  Because of this, she would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time to keep her company. Tallahassee is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being petted and spending time outside. She has a soft curiosity about the world and enjoys taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She’s doing well on walks and continues to grow more confident with each outing. She has been doing very well with her potty routine when kept on a consistent schedule. Tally does best with regular potty breaks every 3–4 hours and will reliably go outside when given the opportunity. During freezing or very rainy weather, she has also used potty pads on an enclosed porch. She keeps her kennel clean and settles in beautifully when crated. Like many dogs who are still learning house habits, she may occasionally mistake rugs or previously marked areas for potty spots if not kept on a routine, but she continues to make great progress. She now sleeps with her foster mom and loves the comfort and security of being close at night. Indoors, she enjoys cozy spots to rest, while outside she’s happy to explore, people watch, or simply enjoy the fresh air. Tallahassee is wonderful with other dogs and has a very calm, respectful presence. She may feel nervous if another dog rushes up too quickly or in unfamiliar situations, and may try to quietly slip away until she feels safe again. She has made nice progress in the car and is gaining confidence with each ride. She has also learned commands like “come,” “down,” and “go potty.” She has several medical needs, including a heart murmur requiring twice-daily medication, as well as a hernia and significant dental disease. Due to her heart condition, she is not a candidate for anesthesia, so her dental and surgical needs will be managed conservatively. She will need a home committed to her comfort, routine care, and gentle handling. Tallahassee doesn’t have much interest in toys, but she loves soft treats, warm naps, and being near her person. She is the sweetest little companion who will sit with you for hours, offering quiet affection and a peaceful, steady presence. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving senior who wants nothing more than a calm home, a soft bed, and someone to adore—Tallahassee is ready to be your devoted little shadow. Some souls are quiet, but they love the deepest—Tallahassee is one of them Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!         Hi! My name is Stetson, and I’m a sweet, sensitive little guy with a big heart and lots of love to give. I might seem a little shy when we first meet. New people, loud noises, and busy environments can make me nervous, so I like to take a moment to watch and make sure everything feels safe. But once I get comfortable and learn the routine, I truly blossom into the happiest, most loving companion you could ask for. My favorite place in the world? Right on your lap. I’m a total cuddle bug and love being close to my people. I’ll happily curl up with you for snuggles, but I’m also a playful little guy who enjoys toys and having fun with the people I trust. I’m a bit goofy too, which means I can make you laugh while we play together. I’m very eager to please and already know some helpful words like “come,” “outside,” “quiet,” and “go potty.” I’m potty trained and will use both potty pads and go outside like a good boy. I do best in a calm home where things aren’t too loud or chaotic. Little kids and lots of commotion can feel overwhelming to me, but gentle adults or older, considerate kids are much more my speed. Once I feel safe, I’ll love you with my whole heart and want to be by your side as much as possible. Leashes are still pretty confusing for me—I tend to freeze up when I’m on one—so I’ll need a secure fenced yard where I can safely go outside and explore. I can also get a little vocal in my crate at first, but with patience and a consistent routine, I settle down. Even though I can be timid with new things, I’m truly a happy little boy at heart. I love to play, cuddle, and spend time with my people. When I feel safe and loved, my sweet personality shines through. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will adore you, cuddle with you, and be your loyal little shadow, I might just be the perfect match. I promise that once I trust you, I’ll love you with my whole heart. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We’re a bonded brother-sister duo looking for our forever home together — because life is just better as a team. About Us: We’re the ultimate dynamic duo: one of us is the brave explorer who likes to check out the yard and make new friends, and the other is the sweet cuddlebug who prefers belly rubs and cozy naps. Together? We’re perfectly balanced. Our Hobbies Include: - Synchronized tail wagging - Tag-team zoomies around the living room - Supervising snack time (very seriously) - Cuddling up like a furry yin and yang - Giving you double the greeting when you walk through the door Fun Facts: - We share toys (most of the time). - We sleep better when we’re side by side. - We have mastered “the look” that gets us treats 87% of the time. - While one of us rings the dog bell, both of us go outside. - Milo is the barker but once he starts the melody, he is no longer a solo artist, as Bonny chimes in with perfect harmony Our Ideal Match: A loving human (or family) who understands that we’re a package deal. We promise twice the loyalty, twice the laughs, and twice the unconditional love. We’re already best friends — now we’re just looking for our best human. If you’ve got room in your heart and on your couch for two sweet souls who come pre-bonded and pre-entertained, swipe right. We can’t wait to meet you! Adoption fee (total for Milo & Bonny): $790

Story
Hi, my name is Lady Godiva, and I am from Minnesota! Lady Godiva is a sweet elder lady. She is very chill and quiet. She loves going outside and on walks. She allows us to brush her mostly. She likes to be in the room where her people are and happily sleeps on a dog bed in each room. She comes up and asks for pets and sometimes will sleep on your lap but mostly is content to be in her bed. She sleeps through the night and seems to be house trained. We don’t wait to find out but take her out regularly. She goes in the crate but not willingly, you had to place her in it. But she settles right away. She pretty much sleeps the day away but walks around a little with you a few times a day. Lady Godiva is very sweet and great with my young kids.

Story
🐾 Meet Dusty – Your Easygoing, Sweet Companion Dusty is an absolute sweetheart with a calm, gentle personality. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and even cats—he’s already shown he can peacefully share space and even chose to curl up near the cat on his own. He’s a quiet boy who hasn’t barked since arriving in foster care. Instead, he communicates with soft little whines as he learns how to “talk” to his people. He’s incredibly easygoing and just happy to be near you—whether that’s relaxing on the couch, lounging on his bed, or quietly doing his own thing nearby. 💛 Personality & Temperament Very gentle and affectionate Calm, easygoing, and low-key No signs of aggression—none Curious and interested in people, even when a little nervous Loves being part of the “pack” and following along Dusty can be a bit timid at times and may shake when meeting new people, but his curiosity always wins out—he wants to connect and bravely works through his nerves. 🐕 Behavior & Habits Quiet (no barking so far!) Sleeps through the night Not noise-sensitive Does not mark indoors Squats to go potty (no leg lifting) Doing well with a regular potty schedule (still learning to signal) He may have an occasional accident while he’s learning, but he does great when taken outside consistently. 🦴 Favorite Things Bully sticks are his absolute favorite Lounging on the couch or relaxing nearby Being close to his people or animal friends 🏡 Ideal Home Dusty would thrive in a calm, loving home and is a great match for: An older individual or couple looking for an easygoing companion Someone wanting a lower-energy dog who enjoys walks but doesn’t need intense exercise Apartment or smaller-space living He enjoys going for walks, but he doesn’t require a lot of activity to be happy—he’s much more about companionship than constant motion. Dusty would do best with: Calm, respectful dogs A household without large, high-energy dogs that could overwhelm him 💬 Foster Notes: Dusty is incredibly gentle and trusting. He may tense slightly when picked up, but he goes along easily and shows zero signs of aggression. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to feel safe, be loved, and be near his people.

Story
Meet Arran — the perfect mix of playful, cuddly, and curious 💛 Arran is everything you hope for in a small dog: bright, affectionate, energetic but also just as happy to curl up to watch TV when the day winds down. He simply wants to be where the action is! His current people are entering assisted living and sadly need to find him a new family. Can you be that family to continue his happy life, showering him with love and affection? At home, Arran loves to play with his tennis ball and rope toy - tug and chase are two of his favorite games. After a 10 minute play session, he’s happy to snooze and recharge. He loves all visitors, especially the grandchildren who love to play. He happily sleeps in a crate at night but certainly would be thrilled to cuddle in bed with his people, if given the opportunity. If you’re looking for a smart, snuggly sidekick, Arran just might be your guy. Arran is estimated to be 8.5 years old and 14.5 lbs. He was purchased from a breeder (Rene’s Wonderful World of Teddy Bear Puppies) but papers have been misplaced so his genetics can’t be guaranteed. Arran has been well cared for, is up to date on all medical care including vaccinations and receives heartworm/tick prevention monthly. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       DOB: 12/07/2022 Requires another dog in home: Yes, another well-balanced dog is required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 10 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, required Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Are you that kind of special person that's looking for not just any dog who immediately loves you and wants to be with you all the time, but one who makes you work for a relationship instead? Kind of like a cat but perky and house trained?. Corbin is that dog, he is  very afraid of being touched by humans but he definitely loves them.  He's come a long way in his short life and he actually really enjoys being pet and scratched, but on his own terms. He often approaches to be pet when you wake up in the morning being flat on your back and perhaps a little groggy. If your sitting, you're much less scary.  Corbin loves to play with other dogs and truly loves the companionship of other dogs big or small. A role model dog is really important for Corbin as is a fence to keep him safe. Corbin is house trained, and crate trained, and a very good listener.  Corbin struggles to trust people and no doubt it's because of past experiences. He is the sweetest little guy with a huge heart and you can see that in him every day.  He wants to trust and he loves to be loved, his past is just in his way. If you're that special person who knows how to work with a frightened dog, who has endless patience to wait for him, and be on his schedule, Corbin is for you.  Corbin is an overall, very happy dog who loves the feel of the sun on his face when he's sitting outside, with other dogs and LOVES treats.  All he needs now is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a family that will help him be the best he can be! With time he will learn to trust – we are taking baby steps. Will you take those baby steps with me? Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.AllDogMN.org.  All Dog Rescue only adopts to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities. Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Would you like to add one of the sweetest Pecans to your life? Our foster dog Pecan sure hopes so!Pecan is a 3 year old Bichon mix who came to us after being stray for a bit. He was a bit of a matted mess but after a good grooming session, had a great glow-up! We are still working with him on his tear stains but those should also clear up.Pecan's daily goal is to be with you as much as possible. In your lap, under your feet, Pecan doesn't care, as long as you are together! Do you work remotely? Pecan would love to hang out in your office as you have a conference call (he promises to be quiet).Do you have another dog? Great! Pecan loves other dogs and is good at doing what another dog wants to do - be calm, hang out, play, he's down for anything. Do you have a cat? Great! Pecan is good at ignoring them, but he might try to play just in case they want to be friends.Do you have older kids? Cool! Pecan likes kids who have some dog experience and understand that sometimes dogs need space and peace and quiet. Do you have a beard? Cool, just know that Pecan might need a moment to check out and approve your facial hair.Pecan is house and crate trained and friendly to everyone. He loves baths, which is great because he will need regular grooming. Once you see his 'before' photo, you'll understand why we want to make sure he is never reminded of that again!December 7, 2025, 4:09 pm
