Yoo-hoo! I’m Blue, a 2-year-old Seal Point Siamese mix female who came to Paws and Claws from another rescue group. Folks from that group said that I have loads of energy. I can be excitable and may become “reactive” especially when overstimulated. I need clear boundaries when engaging with people to help me feel secure. I may react vocally when restrained, so I will benefit from slow, gentle desensitization and a calm, consistent environment. I can be slow to settle down after becoming anxious and will do best in a low-stress, structured setting. When I arrived at Paws and Claws, I settled in the back of my kennel and was hissing at first, but I soon came forward and accepted petting through the bars. I appreciate gentle attention and tolerate handling with mmm – maybe a bit of tension, but I am safe and manageable. I am not demanding, and I recover quickly from new or stressful events. Meet Mello! Mello is a very talkative, loving boy with a personality as big as his voice! He may take a day or so to warm up, but once he does, he’s all in — following you from room to room as your loyal little shadow. He absolutely adores his people and thrives on companionship. This silly guy believes everything is a toy. If it wasn’t made for cats, that just makes it more interesting! His playful curiosity keeps life entertaining, and he’s always ready to turn everyday objects into his next adventure. Mello is extremely snuggly and has a special talent for slowly crawling up to settle right on your chest… or even your face if you’ll let him! That said, he does appreciate having his own space sometimes and enjoys lounging by the window, happily watching the world go by. He’s been very friendly with babies and has done well around little ones. However, loud or sudden noises can startle him — especially when tiny humans turn into tiny “raptors,” as they sometimes do! Because of this, a calmer home environment would suit him best. Mello would truly thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. He gets lonely and isn’t shy about expressing it — he is a very mouthy boy and will happily chat with you about his feelings.
