Story
Meet Amelia! Amelia is a beautiful, petite, Abyssinian cat, about 2-3 years old. She was found living under someone's porch with her 5 kittens.Amelia came into care last May. She is a "Violet," meaning she is very shy and not your typical house cat. She is great in the litterbox but is not a fan (yet) of being pet, although she has allowed her foster mom to give her medicine orally and vaccinate her with no problems. She just needs time to trust people.Amelia will need a patient person who is able to meet her on her own terms. Someone who will let Amelia just "be" - to be in her new home and explore, and when she is comfortable, to come to her new person to be pet. Amelia 's kitten, Anastasia, and Amelia would be a good pairing if you wanted someone to help Amelia socially. Anastasia is also posted and is a mommy's girl.Amelia will need a quiet, low activity home with no children under the age of 13 years old.Because she is a Violet, her adoption fee is greatly reduced pending an approved application. She is dewormed, spayed, received her rabies vaccine, an FVRCP vaccine, tested negative on a combo test, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Story
Meet Marshmallow! Marshmallow is a handsome 6 year old, Siamese mix with beautiful blue eyes. He is a precious love bug! He loves to get scritches on his head and under his chin. He loves pate canned food. (He no longer eats dry food,)  He has a positive, calm, easy-going attitude despite all he has been through, and would be a great companion animal for the right person.Marshmallow has had a very hard life up until now, He was obviously dumped and wandered a person's property for at least a year pleading for help. He was frightened and wanted so badly to come inside and be part of a family, like he once was. He never left their property for an entire year, apparently trying to convince the couple to let him inside. Marshmallow slept on their porch furniture, followed the people everywhere out in the yard and often tried to get into their home through the garage. He was frightened, but they would not allow him inside. It wasn't until his front paws were painful, swollen, and bleeding for a period of 4 months that they finally contacted us for help.Once in our care, he was immediately taken to the vet and it was found that this sweet boy had a very hard and difficult life. Not only were his front paws painful and bleeding and the worst case of Pillow Foot that our vet had ever seen in her 30 years of practice, but he had a lot of broken teeth. This could've happened by abuse/blunt-force trauma. After a lot of tender, loving care, Marshmallow's paws healed completely. He is doing very well now and is healthy. Our sweet boy, Marshmallow is ready for his own home.Marshmallow is FIV+ .Being FIV+, is no longer a big deal. Many cats go on to lead long, healthy lives and, as you can see, Marshmallow has recovered quickly and extremely well (unheard of) from Pillow foot. , Marshmallow can only eat canned food - no dry food or kibble.Marshmallow is neutered, had his rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His perfect family would be a responsible person experienced with diabetic cats, in a low activity, quiet home with either no children or children over the age of 10.Please consider adding Marshmallow to your family. You won't regret it. He is a sweetheart. Please contact us at GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420May 10, 2024, 5:25 am

Story
Meet Bailey! Bailey is a petite  Absynnian mix with the greenest of green eyes.. She and her 4 kittens (Mojito, Margarita, Daquiri, and Martini) came to us from a GoodSamaritan who rescues. They were found as strays, all together,Bailey was a fabulous mom with strong morals who kept a tight rein on her kittens. She could often be seen picking up her kittens, stopping them from eating Kitten Chow , and bringing them back to the blanket to nurse. Now that her kitten duties are over, she is ready to find her own home. Bailey is quiet and unassuming, loving, but yet independent, and will often sleep at your feet. She enjoys a sunny window and canned food and gets along well with other cats.Bailey has a tlit head from a previous inner ear infection; however, she requires no extra attention. She just walks with her head tilted to one side. Bailey is in love! Bailey is in a torrid love affair and bonded with another foster cat, Dino. They can constantly be seen together snuggling, grooming each other, and sleeping together. They will need to be adopted together. We have an adoption special for bonded pairs currently!Bailey will be spayed soon, has her FVRCP and will have her rabies vaccine, will be combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. No need to pay every year - it's done! Please let us know if you would like a little Bailey with your coffee. GoodMews22@aol.com May 10, 2024, 5:25 am
