That’s when I ended up in a shelter. Cold metal bars, unfamiliar sounds… for a long time, that was my whole world. I lost my mom when I was very young. I don’t even know how I got there. All I know is that, with my small body, I was placed on the euthanasia list— before I ever got to know what a home, a family, or love really felt like. But here’s the surprising part. When I was finally rescued and stepped outside that place, I didn’t hold onto the fear. Instead, I discovered people. And I loved them. I wag my tail when I see you. I know how to ask for affection. I’m gentle with other dogs, taking my time, learning how to play— because honestly, I’m still figuring out how the world works. There’s a lot I don’t know yet. Living in a home. Having a family of my own. House training, walking on a leash, learning how to live together. Everything will be new for me. I was just… there. A short leash. A few fixed steps I could take. And a space I had to protect—because no one else would. That factory wasn’t a playground or a place to rest. It was my entire world. A world where surviving was the only goal. I never learned how to meet people freely. I never learned how to make dog friends. My role was simple: guard my space, stay alive. Because of that life, I never had the chance to learn how to socialize with other dogs. When you grow up having to protect your space to survive, “other dogs” don’t feel like friends to play with. They can feel like something you must guard against. Not because you are aggressive— but because no one ever taught you another way. So if I seem uncomfortable around other dogs, please know this isn’t a flaw in my personality. It’s simply the mark of a life where I was never given the chance to learn. That’s why I’m looking for a home where I can be the only dog. A home where, for the first time, I don’t have to share love— but can receive it fully, completely, for the rest of my life. Sia loves humans and cuddles. He enjoys being close to people and happily soaks up affection whenever it’s offered. He is also excellent with other dogs and shows no food aggression. When he first arrived he was very skinny, so he can still eat quite quickly — a habit from the time when meals were uncertain. As he settles into a stable home and routine, this usually improves. Like many rescue dogs, Sia has never lived inside a home before, so his future family will need to guide him through house training and daily routines. 🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Bruno is a two-year-old male Jindo mix with a friendly and cheerful personality. Weighing approximately 16 kg, he has the typical appearance of a Jindo, with an attractive face and an incredibly handsome appearance. As a puppy, Bruno was rescued in a severely malnourished and emaciated state after suffering from abuse and neglect. His condition was truly heartbreaking. However, with consistent love and care, he has transformed into a strong and healthy dog. Despite his difficult past, Bruno has never lost his cheerful spirit or his love for people. He enjoys human touch and often approaches people, seeking affection. He has little to no wariness of strangers, making him an open and friendly dog who quickly approaches people he has never met before. He generally gets along well with other dogs. However, he tends to play a little rough, particularly with his smaller friends. This behavior likely stems from his lack of proper socialization as a puppy. Due to his painful early life, he never had the chance to learn how to interact properly with other dogs. Bruno is now staying at a training center, where he is improving his social skills through daily interactions with various dogs. However, as he bonds deeply with his adopter and develops a strong sense of attachment, his love for people could manifest as jealousy or a protective instinct and this may lead to conflicts with other dogs. This is not because he has an aggressive nature, but rather because he loves people so much. I didn’t get to explore much back then… but somehow, I never stopped believing that people are kind and the world is exciting.When I see humans, my tail starts wagging before I even realize it. I walk right up to say hello—I just can’t help myself. I love other dogs too, and I make friends easily. Being around others makes me feel happy and safe.
