Story
Meet Yeonyu — A Gentle Jindo Mix Looking for His First Real Home   Name: Yeonyu Age: 2 years (born May 15, 2023) Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Beige Weight: 11.8 kg Height: 47 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Yeonyu was born inside a city shelter after his pregnant mom was admitted. He grew up entirely within the shelter system and became the only puppy from his litter who was never adopted. Just before facing euthanasia, he was rescued on July 27, 2025 — stepping outside the shelter for the very first time in his life. He has now been in foster care for 4 months and learning what life in a home truly feels like.   ‍‍‍ Socialization with People Yeonyu is shy at first but gentle and accepting. • He takes treats from strangers and allows petting even when nervous. • He doesn’t yet initiate affection, but he has learned to greet people calmly on walks and receive gentle pets. • At home, he may retreat to his bed when unsure, but once settled, he accepts touch naturally. • He can be picked up with arms under the belly, but sudden grabs or tight hugs can startle him. Slow, predictable handling works best.   He is not fearful-aggressive — simply cautious and learning at his own pace.   Socialization with Other Dogs • Friendly and polite when meeting new dogs. • He greets other dogs but doesn’t really know how to play yet — typical for dogs raised in shelters. • He is very tolerant: he avoids conflict, ignores barking directed at him, and remains calm even with big dogs. • He often feels more comfortable when another dog is around.   With Cats • During walks, he sees cats but maintains focus on his handler. • If curious, he looks briefly but follows direction without issue.   Energy Level • Moderate energy — enjoys outdoor time but rests quietly afterward. • Indoors, he is very calm and quiet. • Outside, his tail goes up and he becomes noticeably happier and more confident. • In indoor public spaces (home, cafés, restaurants), he becomes tense again but handles it without reactivity.   ‍ Walks & Outdoor Behavior Yeonyu is a wonderful walking companion. • He has extensive walking experience and does not pull on leash. • He prefers sniffing, stopping and going at his own rhythm. • If the handler pauses, he stops and waits calmly. • He frequently checks in by looking back at his person. • He handles busy streets, crowds, tourist areas, and loud music without panic. • When other dogs bark at him, he does not react and may greet them calmly or continue walking.   Other Behaviors • No resource guarding toward people or dogs. • Rarely barks. • Climbs into the car independently but becomes nervous during the ride (trembling, drooling). • No signs of separation anxiety so far, though recently he whined/barked lightly when his foster returned after a long outing — something to continue observing. • Currently potties outdoors twice a day (morning and evening).   Yeonyu Is Looking For… A patient, gentle family willing to guide a young dog who spent his entire early life in a shelter. He thrives with routine, calm environments, and slow introductions. With time, encouragement, and love, Yeonyu will blossom into a loyal, quietly affectionate companion. Story
ALL ABOUT ME   • Name: Sunchip • Age: 3 years old • Gender: Male (Neutered) • Breed: Jindo-Corgi mix • Colour: White • Weight: 8kg / 17.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Hi there! My name is Sunchip, and I’m one of the lucky ones. I was once placed on the euthanasia list at a crowded city pound, simply because there wasn’t enough space for me. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me a second chance at life. Now, with a new lease on life and so much love to give, I’m ready to find my forever family who will cherish me the way I’ve always dreamed of.   MY HEALTH • Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete)  • I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.   MY PERSONALITY When you meet me, you’ll quickly see why I got the name Sunchip—my cute, chip-shaped ears are my signature look! I’m a cheerful, friendly boy who loves nothing more than soaking up human attention and affection. I also enjoy the company of other dogs and make friends easily. I seem to have lived in a home before, because I already have nice house manners and walk politely on leash. With my sweet personality and adorable ears, I’m ready to brighten your life like a little ray of sunshine!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: I’m a super friendly boy who absolutely adores people! Nothing makes me happier than getting attention, pets, and of course, tasty treats. I have a soft spot for kids and do well with gentle hands that know how to show love. You can easily scoop me up for cuddles, and once I feel comfortable, I’ll happily roll over to show you my belly. I’m also very polite around food—I never guard it from people. With my sweet, affectionate nature, I’m ready to be the perfect family companion!   With Dogs: I get along well with other dogs here at the care facility, though I usually prefer to do my own thing and enjoy a little independence. I’m polite around food and don’t guard it from other dogs. I tend to do best with pups my size or smaller, and even if another dog is a bit rude, I’d rather calmly walk away than cause a fuss. It can take me a little time to jump into play, but once I feel comfortable, I’m happy to make new friends at my own pace.   With Cats:  I haven’t had the chance to meet any cats yet, so my reaction is still a bit of a mystery. But with my calm and friendly nature, I believe I could do well in a cat-savvy home with thoughtful, slow introductions and a family who can guide me gently.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I have a nice, balanced energy level. I love spending time outdoors exploring and enjoying fresh air, but I’m just as happy to come inside, snuggle up, and be your cozy little couch potato. With me, you’ll get the best of both worlds—fun adventures and sweet relaxation!   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and usually follow my handler’s lead without much pulling. Sometimes I’ll bark if I want your attention, just to remind you I’m there! I’m still working on my kennel training and might whine a little at first, but I’m learning. I know how to potty both indoors and outdoors, though I do best with a consistent routine. Because I’m clever and curious, I have a tendency to slip through small cracks in doors—so it’s very important I’m always kept in a secure, enclosed environment or double-leashed with both a harness and collar for safety. Staff and volunteers say I’m calm and relaxed indoors, but once I’m outside, I love to stretch my legs and show off how fast I can run—you’ll be amazed at my speed!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that offers a safe, structured, and calmenvironment. • A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. • A family that can shower me with love and attention. • A family who understands my escape tendencies and will be extra watchful when I’m outside. I should always be kept securely leashed or only allowed off-leash in a safely fenced area.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m super cute, sweet, and completely adorable! I just know the right family is out there for me, and I can’t wait to show you how affectionate I can be once I’m with my people. Since I seem to have some experience living in a home before, staff and volunteers are confident I’ll adjust quickly to my new family life. I absolutely love going on walks and even do a little happy hop dance when I see the leash—it’s one of my favorite parts of the day! I get along well with other dogs, though I’m a bit more on the introverted side. I don’t always jump straight into play, but I enjoy observing and am perfectly comfortable sharing space with my dog friends. My future family should be mindful of my clever escape tendencies and take extra care when opening or closing doors, since I may try to dash out. With a little watchfulness and a lot of love, I’ll be the sweetest companion you could ask for!   Sunchip's YouTube Playlist ##2599358##

QUICK FACTS Name: Vivian Age: 2 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo mix Color: White Weight: 14kg / 31lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city pound after being placed on the euthanasia list due to lack of space. Now, I’m ready for a fresh start and hoping to find my forever family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet, gentle girl who loves people and enjoys their company. Volunteers and staff can tell I once had a family—so many of my behaviors show I’ve known a home before. I recently gave birth to six puppies (hard to believe, since I still look like a puppy myself!). I get along well with dogs my size or larger, and I’m smart, curious, and eager to explore the world around me.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m very friendly with people! I love greeting new strangers and happily accept pets. Once I trust you, I’ll even roll over to show my belly, and you can pick me up too. I really enjoy human companionship—so much that I can get a little jealous when other dogs get attention. But it’s only because I love being close to my people! · With Dogs: I like greeting new dogs and playing with them, and I generally get along best with dogs my size or bigger. While I’m friendly, I’m also not afraid to stand my ground if another dog gets too pushy, so slow, supervised introductions will help me build positive relationships. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level—I enjoy my outdoor time, but afterward I’m more than happy to snuggle up and relax indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull a bit at times, but overall I follow my handler’s lead nicely. I’m very quiet and rarely bark, and I know how to rest calmly in my kennel. I’m also potty-trained and prefer to go outdoors.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that understands my rough past and is patient with me throughout and continue to provide me with basic training and socialization. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever. Ideally the only dog in the household or with a confident dog sibling that is around my size or bigger.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a gentle, sweet girl who loves people and enjoys human companionship. Volunteers can tell I used to have a home because many of my behaviors show that I’m familiar with living with a family. I get along well with dogs my size or bigger, and I enjoy meeting new friends, though I do best with slow, supervised introductions since I’m not afraid to stand my ground if another dog is being pushy. I’m a level 2 rescue dog, so I’ll need a few days to feel settled in a new environment. For my safety, I must always wear a martingale collar and be double-leashed to both a harness and collar whenever I’m outside. With patience, structure, and love, I’ll continue to open up and become an even more confident, loyal companion.   Vivian's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2598325##

QUICK FACTS Name: Pretzel Age: 1 Year (Born in August 2024) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Beige Weight: 8kg / 17.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was born to a stray mother and spent my early life tied up on an abandoned vacant lot. When even that place was no longer available for me to stay, I had nowhere to go. Thankfully, a kind rescuer found me just in time and brought me to safety. Despite everything I’ve been through, I remain gentle and resilient, ready to start a new chapter with a loving family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & no known health issues     MY PERSONALITY Hi, I am Pretzel. I’m naturally gentle, sweet, and very affectionate. Even though I spent a lot of time tied up, I took to walks easily from the start and secretly enjoy running around. I don’t have a big appetite or food obsession, and I really love being around people. You’ve never heard me bark yet!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m very friendly and affectionate, not only with people I know but also with strangers. I like to approach people, rub my body against them, and I allow gentle touch easily. You can even put your arms under my belly and lift me up without any problem. I feel comfortable being held. · With Dogs: I’m very social, not just with dogs I already know but also with new dogs I meet for the first time. I like to approach them, say hello, and invite them to play. I enjoy making new dog friends wherever I go. · With Cats: I haven’t been observed around cats yet, so my reaction to them is still unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a normal energy level and enjoy outdoor activities, but I rest quietly once we come back inside. I tend to pull a little on the leash, but overall, I follow people well.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food, whether it’s around people or other dogs. I hardly ever bark. I stay calm when I’m in a kennel. I usually go to the bathroom outside.   MY IDEAL HOME I would thrive in a loving home where I get plenty of attention and gentle care. I enjoy walks, playtime, and being around people, so a family who can spend quality time with me would be perfect. I also do well with other dogs, so having a dog friend would be great too.   SPECIAL NOTES I get along well with other dogs, so I could be a great second dog in a household. My social skills are good, and I interact well with people and other dogs. I also enjoy resting in my kennel.   Pretzel's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2598327##

Story
Meet Hayang (4 yrs, Spayed Female)   Breed: Jindo Mix Color: White / Gray Weight: 16 kg Height: 51 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Hayang was rescued from a neglect situation. Her previous owner, who struggled with alcoholism, was hospitalized and left her unattended. A concerned neighbor brought her to the local shelter, where she was sadly listed for euthanasia until rescue intervened.   ‍ Human Socialization Hayang is incredibly affectionate and loves people — both familiar faces and strangers. She happily approaches, leans in for attention, and allows touch easily.   She used to tremble around men (likely due to past abuse), but now accepts gentle male touch comfortably. She also does very well with children under 13 and can be gently lifted while being held.   Dog Socialization Hayang is social and friendly with both known and unfamiliar dogs. She’s the type who chooses one dog she really likes and plays with them nonstop rather than playing with a big group.   She prefers dogs with a similar body size and especially enjoys companions she can confidently play-wrestle with. She avoids conflict even if another dog challenges her and gets along well with high-energy dogs. If your home already has a playful dog, the two may keep each other entertained all day!   Cats No experience living with cats. Cat-testing can be arranged.   Energy Level Moderate. She enjoys outdoor activity but settles calmly afterward.   ‍ Walks She’s an experienced walker — does not pull and follows her handler well.   Other Behaviors • No resource guarding toward people or other dogs • Originally not food-motivated, but after shelter living she now eagerly asks for treats • No separation anxiety • Rarely barks • Rides well in a car and stays calm in a kennel • Currently potty trained outdoors Apply to Foster or Adopt at www.adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.
