Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Mina Age: January 18, 2024 (About 2 Years Old) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo Mix Color: White Weight: 10kg / 22lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Before I was brought to the city shelter, I was left behind near the back of a convenience store. I didn’t know where to go or who to wait for. But then, I was rescued and given a chance to start over. I’m still learning that I’m safe now, and that good things can happen. I’m hoping to start writing my next chapter with a forever family of my own that will cherish me.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Mina and I’m sweeter than I look and I already look pretty cute! I’m friendly with people, especially women, and I’m usually comfortable even when meeting someone for the first time. I enjoy being petted and spending time close to my humans—it comes naturally to me. I’m a smart girl too! I already know how to sit and lie down, and I’m quick to learn new things. People say I’m even cuter in person and maybe that’s because of my gentle, affectionate nature. If you’re looking for a loving, bright companion who will happily walk by your side and greet the world with curiosity, I might just be your girl.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but if you come with treats, I’ll gather the courage to come closer and take them from you. I just need a bit more time before I’m ready for touch—but once I feel safe, I slowly open up. You can gently pick me up by supporting me under my belly—I’m okay with being held like that. And when I truly feel at ease, I’ll roll over and show you my belly—that’s my way of saying I trust you completely. I do tend to feel more comfortable around women, while men can be a bit intimidating for me at first. With patience and kindness, though, I can learn to trust. · With Dogs: I’ll politely go up and say hello to other dogs, even if we’ve just met, but I’m not really one for playtime—I tend to keep to myself. Most of the time, I’m pretty indifferent to other dogs and prefer doing my own thing. That said, if another dog comes on too strong or tries to provoke me, I might react, so I do best with calm and careful introductions when meeting new dogs. · With Cats: When I see a cat, I can get very excited and may try to chase, so I’d do best in a home without cats.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy getting outside and spending time in the fresh air, and after a good outing, I’m happy to settle down and relax quietly. On walks, I can get a little excited and may pull at times, but I do like to stay connected with my person and follow along. I also love taking in all the smells, so I tend to stop and go as I explore—it’s my favorite way to enjoy the world around me.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m pretty easygoing when it comes to food—I don’t feel the need to guard it, whether I’m around people or other dogs. I’m usually a quiet companion, but I might bark when I see someone new. I settle down nicely in my kennel and stay calm once I’m inside. Car rides can feel a bit scary for me, so I’ll need a little help being carried in. I usually prefer doing my business outside, so I’m most comfortable with outdoor potty routines.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Right now, I’m living in a foster home, so I’m used to home life and doing well with my potty habits. I’ve lived with another dog before, so I understand what it’s like to share space, but I’m also doing just fine on my own. I can adapt to either, as long as I have love and guidance.    MINA'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2708959##

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Wagu Age: June 2, 2025 (About 1 Year Old) Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo Mix                                       Color: White Weight: 17kg / 37.48lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Before I came to the city shelter, I was abandoned, left alone in the yard of a house, not knowing why or what would happen next. But I was found and brought to safety—and that’s when my second chance began. I may not understand my past, but I’m ready for a future filled with love and belonging.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Wagu—a calm, steady kind of companion who finds comfort in quiet routines. Even though I’m still young, people are often surprised by how relaxed and composed I am. I don’t get easily worked up, and I’m happiest when life feels predictable and peaceful. I may take a little time to warm up to new people. I’m not the type to rush in for attention, but once I feel comfortable, I settle in nicely and show my gentle side in my own quiet way. I’m not overly clingy or full of flashy affection, but if you’re someone who appreciates a peaceful presence by your side—a dog who brings calm, not chaos—I think we could be a perfect match. I’ll be right there with you, quietly sharing each day.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy and cautious when we first meet. I’ll take treats from you, but I need a bit more time before I’m ready for touch. Give me a few days and I’ll start to feel comfortable and show you my true self. Once I trust you, everything changes. I’ll let you pet me, and before long, I might even roll over and show you my belly—that’s my way of saying I feel safe with you. You can gently pick me up by supporting me under my belly, and I’ll be okay with that too. · With Dogs: I’ll politely go up to say hello to other dogs, even if we’ve just met, but I’m not really one to jump into play. I prefer to keep things low-key. I tend to feel comfortable around dogs that are similar in size or smaller than me. Even if another dog gets a little pushy, I’d rather walk away than get into trouble. · With Cats: When I see a cat, I get curious and like to watch, but if my person guides me, I’ll follow along nicely.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outside and going for walks, but I’m not overly energetic. After some fresh air and a nice outing, I’m perfectly happy to settle down and rest quietly. I’ve had plenty of experience on walks, so I stay close, don’t pull on the leash, and follow my person really well.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m pretty easygoing when it comes to food—I don’t feel the need to guard it, whether I’m around people or other dogs. I’m generally a quiet companion, though I might bark a little when I see someone new. I settle in calmly in my kennel and rest without any trouble. I’m also comfortable getting in and out of the car on my own. For potty, I mostly prefer going outside and am used to outdoor routines.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I’ve been living in a busy environment with lots of movement and noise, so sometimes I stay a little alert to unfamiliar sounds. But in a home setting, I’m actually very quiet and rarely bark. If you give me a consistent routine, especially for walks, I prefer to take care of my business outside like a well-mannered pup. I do enjoy food quite a bit—okay, maybe more than a bit! That means I can get a little eager around mealtime, especially when other dogs are nearby. But with a calm environment or just one companion, I know how to wait patiently and follow cues like “sit” and “stay.”    WAGU'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2708971##

Story
Miu Age: 4 monthsSex: FemaleSpayed: Not yetBreed: Jindo mixColor: Black/BrownWeight: 4.9 kgHeight (shoulder): 30 cm   Rescue Story:Miu was rescued on March 24 from a municipal shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Prior to her rescue, she spent about two weeks in a temporary foster home.   ‍‍‍ Personality with People:Miu is incredibly affectionate and social She approaches not only familiar people but also strangers with ease, happily leaning in for pets and attention. She loves both men and women, and she is especially gentle and friendly with children under 13—often approaching them and cuddling right away She is comfortable being picked up (with arms placed under her belly) and will even show her belly to people she has just met.   Socialization with Other Dogs:Miu is very friendly with other dogs and enjoys greeting and playing with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. When meeting new dogs, she often shows her belly first, allowing the other dog to feel comfortable and take their time She tends to be submissive, especially with larger dogs, and will avoid conflict even if another dog provokes her. She prefers dogs with a similar energy level, as very high-energy dogs can feel overwhelming for her.   Cats:Her reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but testing can be arranged.   Energy Level & Activity:Miu has a moderate energy level She enjoys outdoor activities but is also calm and relaxed indoors after exercise.   ‍ Leash & Walking:She has not had extensive leash training yet, but in her foster home, she showed good potential and followed her handler well during walks.   Additional Notes:Miu does not guard food from people. However, when eating around other dogs, she may growl to protect her food—likely due to her experience in a group living environment. This behavior is not aggressive and can be managed with proper structure. She shows mild separation anxiety. She tends to stay quiet when alone but may bark when she sees people and wants attention. Similarly, she stays calm in a crate when no one is around but may bark to be let out when she sees people. Miu is currently using both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty successfully   Miu is a loving, social, and well-balanced puppy who will thrive in a home ready to guide her as she grows. With her sweet nature and gentle temperament, she will make a wonderful companion.   Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! Story
Meet Bailey   Name: Bailey Age: 4 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Black / Beige Weight: 15.8 kg Height (shoulder): 45 cm     Rescue Story Bailey was found living on a scrap yard, tied to a short 1-meter leash and surviving on food waste alongside several other dogs. Although the owner initially agreed to surrender them, the dogs were sent to a municipal shelter and placed on the euthanasia list.   Bailey was rescued on December 28, 2023, just in time. After staying in boarding care, she has been living in a foster home since October 25, 2024, where she has been learning what it means to be part of a loving home.   ‍‍‍ With People Bailey is affectionate and enjoys being around people. She approaches both familiar faces and strangers, often leaning in for pets and attention. While she may feel a little unsure at first, she still allows handling and quickly warms up.   She tends to feel more comfortable with women and can be slightly cautious around men. Bailey does well with children under 13 and can be gently picked up once she is comfortable.   She has a sweet and thoughtful personality — she often communicates what she wants using her paws rather than barking. She is patient and well-mannered, even during things she doesn’t enjoy (like baths, nail trims, or brushing teeth).   Bailey may not learn things quickly, but she is persistent and always tries her best. She truly enjoys bonding and connecting with her people.   With Other Dogs Bailey greets other dogs politely, but she hasn’t had many opportunities to learn how to play, so she may seem unsure in those situations. With time and positive experiences, she may continue to build confidence. She can feel uncomfortable around larger dogs or those with high energy levels.   If another dog behaves aggressively, she usually chooses to avoid conflict rather than react.   During walks, she may become excited when seeing small white dogs. While she has never shown aggression, she has occasionally displayed a prey-like posture (lowering her head and moving slowly), so introductions are managed carefully. This is believed to be due to limited socialization rather than aggression.   With Cats & Small Animals Bailey may try to chase cats or birds during walks. With proper leash handling and guidance, she responds well and follows her handler.   Energy Level Moderate energy. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward.   ‍ Walks Bailey is experienced on leash. She may pull slightly at times but generally follows her handler well.   Additional Notes • Not food possessive with people or dogs • Rarely barks • Calm and quiet in a kennel • Can get in and out of the car on her own • Prone to mild motion sickness • Fully outdoor potty trained   Bailey is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can continue to build confidence and feel safe. With her gentle nature and quiet loyalty, she will make a truly devoted companion. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! Story
Janggo Age: 2 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Beige, Black, White Weight: 15 kg Height (shoulder): 50 cm   Rescue Story Janggo was rescued from a wildfire-affected area in 2025. She had been taken by a household to be used as a wild boar hunting dog, but because of her gentle nature, she was deemed unsuitable. Instead, she was tied up and left to guard a field.   ‍‍ Personality with People Janggo is naturally affectionate and enjoys being around people, but due to her past of being tethered and isolated, she can be cautious and a little timid with strangers at first.   If someone nearby has treats, she will approach on her own—sometimes pawing gently to ask for them . When approached for petting, she may briefly step back, but once she feels safe, she lowers her body and comes closer, even lying down to be petted.   In open spaces, she may initially avoid being caught and run before settling. However, once she bonds, she becomes very affectionate—approaching first, rolling onto her back, and asking for belly rubs   It took her about three weeks after rescue to fully trust her caregivers at the center. She can be picked up by supporting under her belly, and once comfortable, she happily shows her belly.   She also knows basic commands such as sit, down, and wait.   With Other Dogs Janggo is very social and friendly with other dogs. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and play, regardless of their size. Even if another dog provokes her, she tends to avoid conflict and shows a gentle temperament.   With Cats She may try to chase moving cats during walks, but shows little interest in cats that are stationary.   Energy Level She has a moderate energy level. After sufficient outdoor activity, she settles down calmly to rest. When she has compatible playmates, she enjoys running and playing, then resting in between . If there are no playmates, she is content to relax on her own.   Leash & Walks Janggo is both curious and a little cautious. On calm, familiar routes—or when following interesting scents—she may pull slightly in the direction she wants to go.   In busier urban environments, she tends to stay close to her handler. She often walks with her ears slightly back, showing she may feel a bit uneasy in crowded areas. Sudden loud noises can startle her at times.   Other Behaviours • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • May bark to ask to come out when other dogs are being let out • May show demand barking before meals • Tends to bark along if other dogs bark at unfamiliar people • Settles in a kennel after a brief period of whining • Experiences motion sickness in the car • Primarily does outdoor potty • Tolerates baths well and is calm during nail trimming • Overall gentle and easy-going temperament   Janggo is a sweet and gentle girl who just needs a little time to build confidence. Once she feels safe, her affectionate and loving personality truly shines Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram!
