Story
**Note: Currenly, Wanee is in Korea, but he will travel to Toronto once he is adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click the link.BackgroundWanee is one of five dogs who were living at a construction site in Hanam, Korea. They seemed like siblings and were always together, taking care of each other. Eventually, they were rescued and stayed at a local shelter for a while. After that, they joined our partner boarding house last summer. Since then, they have been living peacefully with other dogs.Personality and SocializationWanee is a calm, quiet, and loyal boy. He has a gentle, steady presence and prefers to take life at a slower pace. Rather than rushing up to strangers, Wanee likes to observe from a distance first. He takes his time to understand who you are, and once he feels safe, he opens his heart in the sweetest way. When he trusts you, Wanee becomes loyal, loving, and easy to be around. He enjoys quiet moments, soft affection, and simply being near his person. He would do best with someone who has a calm, gentle energy and a peaceful home environment. With other dogs, Wanee gets along very well, especially with those who are calm and respectful like him. He is not comfortable around overly energetic or pushy dogs. He has not yet been tested with cats or young children.BehavioursWanee is a low maintenance companion. He will need time at first to feel comfortable, but once he settles in, he is relaxed and independent. One of his favorite things in the world is going for walks. When he sees his leash, he gently lowers himself, ready to have his harness put on. It is a quiet, sweet moment that shows how much he loves his outdoor time. Walks with his trusted person are truly special to him.He is patient during baths and vet visits, patiently waiting until everything is done. He has not shown any destructive behaviors or signs of separation anxiety. Most of the time, he is happy just resting, observing, and enjoying a peaceful day.Health and DietWhen Wanee was first rescued, he was treated for heartworm and anaplasmosis. He has since completed all treatments and is now healthy and thriving. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He also receives monthly parasite prevention. Wanee eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.Ideal HomeWanee is a gentle and quietly brave soul who will shine in a calm and loving home. He would do best with someone patient and understanding, ideally with experience caring for rescue dogs. Because he has spent his life around other dogs, Wanee would likely be happiest in a home with a calm canine companion. He does not ask for much. Just time, patience, and a kind heart. Once he learns to trust you, he will be a deeply loyal and loving companion, the kind of dog who stays close not just in body, but in heart.**Note: Currenly, Wanee is in Korea, but he will travel to Toronto once he is adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click the link.

Story
Meet Bosuk    Bosuk is a sweet and gentle 7-year-old boy with a warm brown and white coat and a calm, loving personality.   Name: Bosuk Age: 7 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Mixed breed Color: Brown / White Weight: 7.5 kg Height: 32 cm   Rescue Story  In October 2020, Bosuk, his siblings, and their mother were found in a rural home. They were all rescued from the shelter, but sadly, none of them have been adopted and they have all spent years waiting in care.   After a long time, Bosuk finally had the chance to move into a foster home, where he has been for the past 5 months, learning what it means to live in a home environment   Personality with People ‍‍‍ Bosuk is affectionate and friendly, even with new people. He will come up to you, gently rub against you, and happily accept pets   He may feel a little shy about being picked up by strangers at first, but he warms up quickly — usually within 1–2 days   He does well with children under 13 as well, especially once he gets to know them. Once comfortable, he loves showing his belly and enjoying affection   With Other Dogs  Bosuk is not overly outgoing with new dogs, but once he becomes familiar, he can form close friendships   He is a bit more cautious around larger dogs but not fearful. He prefers dogs closer to his size and tends to avoid conflict rather than react.   High-energy dogs can feel overwhelming to him, so he would do best with calm companions.   With Cats  Bosuk has not met cats yet, but he shows good potential to coexist. A cat test can be arranged.   Energy Level  Moderate energy level — he enjoys walks and outdoor time but is calm and relaxed at home afterward.   Walks  Bosuk LOVES walks! Just seeing the leash makes him spin in excitement   He may walk slightly ahead, but he does not pull hard and is easy to manage. He follows his person well and truly enjoys being outside.   Other Notes  No food guarding (with people or dogs) No aggression over food or toys Generally quiet (may bark happily when you come home ) May bark a little for attention (he LOVES being petted ) No separation anxiety Calm in a kennel Mostly outdoor potty   Bosuk is a gentle, loving boy who has waited a long time for his forever home   He doesn’t ask for much — just a family to love, a warm place to rest, and someone to share his quiet, happy moments with Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Dundeun Age: About 3 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Mix Color: Brown Weight: 7.9kg / 17lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY In 2025, I was rescued with severe burns on my back and legs. With proper care and treatment, I’ve come a long way and continue to heal every day. Now I’m safe, full of resilience, and ready to start a bright new chapter with a loving forever family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Dundeun, a small and gentle dog with a big, loving heart. I adore people and feel happiest when I’m close to my humans. I’m calm and well-mannered, although I do have a bit of a voice when I want something. I’m a dog who is sweet, resilient, and incredibly affectionate. I’m ready to leave my past behind and find a forever family who will give me love, care, and a safe place to call home.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I might feel a bit shy when we first meet, but if you offer me a yummy treat, I’ll happily take it and warm up to you quickly. Before long, we’ll be friends and you’ll be able to hold me in your arms and pet me too! I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, but with careful introduction, I’m sure I’ll get along great with them. · With Dogs: I’m a very friendly dog! I don’t just stick to dogs I know — I’ll happily walk up to new dogs, say hello, and even invite them to play. However, if another dog provokes me, I will stand my ground. That’s why it’s important to introduce me to new dogs slowly and carefully at first. With the right introductions, I can make wonderful doggy friends! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy outdoor activities like walks and exploring, and after some fun outside, I’m happy to settle down and rest quietly at home.On walks, I can get a little excited and pull on the leash at times, but I generally follow my person well and like staying close. With a bit of guidance, I can keep improving and become an even better walking buddy!   TRAINING & HABITS I’m very comfortable with people around my food — no guarding at all! I usually eat separately from other dogs, so it’s a bit hard to say for sure, but I don’t tend to rush aggressively toward other dogs’ food. Sometimes I might bark when I want attention, but it’s not excessive. I just like to politely let you know I need a little love! When I’m in a kennel, I stay calm and settle down nicely.I can use both indoor pee pads and go potty outside, but I do prefer going outside if possible.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I went through a difficult past and had burn injuries, but my skin has healed well. I just need a little extra care with moisturizing, especially during dry seasons. Even though I have some areas without fur, it doesn’t affect my daily life at all—I’m still full of love and ready to enjoy life. I have a surprisingly good jump, so I can easily hop over low barriers—something to keep in mind for my safety!     Dundeun's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2689221##
