Story
Meet FuBao, our beautiful "panda pup" whose gentle spirit shines despite the difficult life she once endured. Her unique coloring, with adorable panda-like markings, inspired the team to name her FuBao - a name that reflects the special and precious soul she is. For a long time, FuBao lived chained beside a chicken coop, held by a thick metal chain. She was kept there to help scare away wild boars, forced to spend every season outdoors with little protection from the elements. She survived on spoiled leftover food, knowing only a life of hardship and neglect. After everything she experienced, it is hard to believe the sweet and loving dog she has become. FuBao absolutely adores people and has a wonderful temperament with other dogs. She carries no bitterness from her past - only kindness, affection, and a desire to be loved. Now, FuBao deserves a life filled with gentle walks on a leash, a warm bed, a safe home, and the comfort of falling asleep beside someone who cherishes her. FuBao is ready to leave her painful past behind and begin the next chapter of her life. She is waiting for her forever family - a family who will show her the love, care, and happiness she has always deserved. Story
SamDong is a beautiful white Jindo mix with a gentle heart and a bright, loving personality. This affectionate girl has so much love to give and is ready to find a family who will continue helping her grow into the confident companion she is meant to be. At home, SamDong is cheerful, playful, and incredibly affectionate. She loves being close to her people and often climbs onto the bed just to enjoy cuddles and companionship. She enjoys being petted, spending time with her family, and showing off her intelligence by learning tricks. SamDong is a smart girl who is highly motivated by food and treats, which makes her eager to learn and a wonderful candidate for continued training. Although she loves food, she patiently waits for treats and meals. She is friendly and polite with other dogs, greeting them calmly by sniffing and showing no signs of aggression. She also does well with cats and appears to have little to no interest in them. While SamDong is confident and loving inside the home, the outside world can still feel overwhelming for her. She is sensitive to loud noises such as motorcycles, traffic, and busy crowds. During walks, she may crouch low, circle, pant, or pull on the leash when she feels nervous. However, she continues to make wonderful progress with patience and positive reinforcement. SamDong's foster and trainer believe she may have a negative association with a collar and leash, possibly from past experiences. When wearing a collar, she's shown signs of discomfort and anxiety, especially in places like elevators where she would circle nervously. After transitioning to a harness, her confidence has improved significantly. Her foster has been using a harness for about a month and has noticed a remarkable difference in her comfort and willingness to explore. SamDong enjoys daily walks (2-3 times per day) and is continuing to build her leash confidence. With a supportive family, gentle guidance, and continued training, she has wonderful potential to become an even more confident and relaxed dog. SamDong would thrive with a loving family who understands that confidence takes time to build. She does not need someone to "fix" her - she needs someone who will celebrate her progress, respect her pace, and continue showing her that the world is a safe and wonderful place. A patient adopter who enjoys training, walks, cuddles, and building a deep bond will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal and loving companion. SamDong has so much love to give, and she is ready for the next chapter of her life. Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: Yes Good with other dogs: Yes, friendly and polite with other dogs, greeting them by sniffing and showing no aggression. Good with cats: Yes, appears to have little to no interest in cats. House trained: Mostly outdoor potty trained. Occasionally urinates on a pee pad indoors. Crate trained: Not yet. Crate training has not started, but because she is highly food-motivated, her foster believes she will learn quickly. Can be handled/touched: Yes Energy level: Medium - affectionate and energetic at home. Timid during walks due to outside noises, but moderately playful at dog parks. Barker: No Flight risk: No but extra caution should always be taken in the beginning Food aggressive: No, she loves food and treats but patiently waits and shows no resource guarding. Walks on leash: Yes, walked 2-3 times daily. She is still gaining confidence outdoors and may circle, crouch low, pant, and pull on the leash when frightened by surrounding noises. Continued leash confidence training is recommended. Rides well in car: Yes Destructive: No Needs a home with a yard: Preferred Needs a home with another dog: No, she gets along well with other dogs, but no specific requirement was noted. Story
Dael's story is one of quiet devotion, resilience, and hope. When Dael was found in a crowded city shelter in South Korea, she had just become a mother. Confined to a small wire cage with her three newborn puppies, she spent her days doing everything she could to keep them safe. The gaps in the wire floor were large enough that her tiny puppies could slip through, so Dael gently carried each one back to safety whenever they wandered too close. Despite her difficult surroundings, her only concern was protecting her babies. Seeing her dedication, the rescue team at Big Dog Forest knew this little family deserved a second chance. They rescued Dael and all three of her puppies, giving them the safety and comfort they had never known. Even during those challenging days, Dael's gentle heart shone through. While caring for her puppies, she would happily leave her bed for a moment to greet people, quietly asking for pets and affection. Her trust in humans, despite everything she had been through, is truly remarkable. Today, Dael's puppies have grown, and all but one have found loving homes of their own. As her family has slowly grown smaller, Dael has patiently waited for her own happy ending. She is currently thriving in foster care, where her sweet personality continues to blossom. She has a calm, affectionate nature and enjoys being close to her people without being overly demanding. She is friendly with both men and women, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and may do well with cats based on her calm, respectful demeanor. Because she has had limited experience with young children, a home with older, respectful kids would be the best fit. Dael has a medium energy level, making her equally happy joining you for a leisurely walk or relaxing beside you at home. While she would enjoy a fenced yard to explore, she could also adapt well to apartment living with regular exercise. She doesn't need another dog in the home but would happily share her life with one. After dedicating so much of her life to caring for others, it's finally Dael's turn to be cherished. She has already proven what an incredible mother she is. Now she's simply looking for someone who will love her as deeply as she has always loved those around her. When the rescue team went to find her, she greeted them with the sweetest, gentlest "smile"-they knew right away that they wouldn't need a trap at all! Her friendly personality instantly melted everyone's hearts, and it wasn't long before she was able to be placed into a wonderful foster home. She is naturally timid and needs a little time to adjust to new people, places, and experiences, but once she feels safe, she becomes a loving companion. She is more than ok to be left alone when need, happy to share with any doggy siblings she may end up with, and zero tendency toward destructive behaviours. Story
Thomas's story began in December 2024, when he was just a tiny one-month-old puppy. He and his littermates were found in a city shelter in Korea as winter approached. Knowing the puppies would have little chance of surviving the freezing temperatures, rescuers stepped in and brought them to safety. Since then, Thomas has grown into a happy, healthy young dog who is ready to find the loving family he's always deserved. At approximately 1.5 years old, Thomas is a handsome cream-coloured Jindo mix weighing just 13 pounds. He has a wonderful balance of playful energy and affectionate sweetness. Whether he's happily playing with other dogs or quietly asking for gentle pets, Thomas is happiest when he's spending time with the people he loves. Thomas is incredibly friendly with both women and men, greeting everyone with a soft, gentle nature. While he hasn't had much experience around young children, he has done well with older kids and would likely thrive in a family that can continue to introduce him to new experiences at his own pace. He enjoys the company of other dogs of all sizes and plays respectfully, though he doesn't need a canine companion to be happy. He may also be able to live with cats, as he has shown no reaction to them during initial introductions. Thomas is making wonderful progress with his training. He is learning his house manners, does his business outside, and is becoming comfortable with his crate. He's also learning to walk nicely on leash and enjoys getting out to explore. He rides well in the car, although longer trips may occasionally cause mild car sickness, which often improves with practice. Despite his medium-to-high energy level, Thomas has an easygoing personality. He isn't destructive around the home, only occasionally sacrificing a toy during an enthusiastic play session. He rarely barks, loves physical affection, and has no food aggression. Once he trusts you, he'll gently come over, hoping for scratches and cuddles. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal so Thomas has room to play and burn off energy, but he could also do well in an apartment as long as he receives plenty of daily exercise and mental enrichment. After surviving such a difficult beginning, Thomas is ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life-with a family who will cherish him forever. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion, Thomas is ready to fill your home with joy, laughter, and unconditional love Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: yes, older children recommended as his interactions with kids has been limited Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Possibly, shows no reaction - can further test House trained: In training Crate trained: In training Energy level: medium-high, is quite active Can be handled/touched: Yes, loves physical affection and slowly approaches asking for pets Barker: No Flight risk: no but extra caution should always be taken in the beginning Food aggressive : No Current food: Kirkland Signature Adult Formula Walks on leash: yes, In training Leash reactive to people or dogs: No Rides well in car: yes, Rides well but may have slight car sickness in long rides - should subside with more car practice Destructive: No, may tear up toys from extended play, but doesn't tear at blankets or other materials Needs a home with a yard: Preferred Needs a home with another dog: No Can live in an apartment: Possibly, provided he gets regular exercise Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
