QUICK FACTS  Name: Venue Age: 1 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo mix Color: Black, brown Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed    MY RESCUE STORY  I was rescued from a city pound in Miryang where I was placed on the euthanasia list. Just in time, kind rescuers stepped in and gave me a precious second chance at life. Now I’m safe, hopeful, and ready to begin a brand-new journey with my forever family who will love and cherish me.     MY HEALTH  • All vaccinations up-to-date • Neutered & healthy with no known health issues    MY PERSONALITY  I’m a super sweet boy with a curious heart and perfectly balanced energy. Even when I was being rescued from the euthanasia list at the city pound, I amazed everyone by happily approaching the rescuers and giving them high fives! Despite everything I’ve been through, my long stay at the shelter never dimmed my bright, positive spirit. I love meeting new people with curiosity and joy, enjoy interacting with humans, and get along wonderfully with my dog friends too. My resilience and bright personality truly shine through—I’m ready to share that happiness with my forever family    MY SOCIAL SKILLS  · With People: I love meeting new people and soaking up pets and affection. During my profile photoshoot, I happily snuggled into the staff’s arms, enjoying every bit of attention. Once I trust you, I’ll proudly show my belly and invite more cuddles—and yes, you can easily pick me up too! I’m all about gentle love and cozy moments with my people.  · With Dogs: I get along wonderfully with my dog friends and truly enjoy meeting new pups! I love greeting new dogs and having fun playtime with my friends. I tend to do best with dogs my size or bigger, and I really shine when I have friendly companions to share adventures with.  · With Cats: I have yet met cats, but I can try! (Cat test can be conducted upon request to ensure best fit)   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY  I have a nice, balanced energy level—I love getting out to play and explore outdoors, then happily winding down with cozy snuggles inside. I enjoy going on walks and, while I might pull a little at times out of excitement, I’m generally great at following your lead and strolling along together.    TRAINING & HABITS  I walk nicely on leash and do a great job following my handler’s lead. I’m easygoing around food and don’t guard it from people or dog friends. I may let out a little bark now and then when I’m hoping for some extra attention, but overall I’m a quiet, well-mannered pup. I also know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel, making me a wonderful companion both in and out of the house.    MY IDEAL HOME  I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever    SPECIAL NOTES  Staff and volunteers can’t stop praising my sweet and gentle personality—and of course, my adorable face! From day one, I’ve shown a positive attitude, and each day I continue to grow more confident, friendly, and comfortable in my surroundings. Everyone always comments on how well I’m adjusting and how easily I’ll settle into any home. I truly love interacting with both people and dog friends, and I’m blossoming more and more at the care facility. Any family would be incredibly lucky to welcome me as their loyal, loving companion.   Venue's Youtube Playlist     Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org  For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2636308##

Story
🏠 Currently  in a Vancouver foster home Hi, my name is Hugh 🤍 I’m a male Jindo mix, 8 months old, and I weigh about 10kg (22 lb). I’m still a puppy, and the world is a little unfamiliar to me. I was rescued when I was very young and grew up living with other puppies. During my time at a foster home in Korea, I had some difficult experiences with young children who touched me too much and didn’t know when to stop. Because of that, I’ve learned to be cautious about approaching people first. But that’s not the whole story of who I am. At first, I may take a step back and quietly observe. But if you give me time and let us get to know each other, I’ll allow gentle touch, and eventually, I’ll choose to come closer on my own. Once trust is built, I’ll look at my person with soft eyes, walk over quietly, and lean against them for comfort. I’m very social with other dogs. I get along well with dogs my age and feel calm and secure when I’m around them. With unfamiliar people or new environments, I just need a little more time to adjust. During that time, I ask that you respect my pace and watch over me with patience and consistent love. I’m still only 8 months old. Before my past worries become permanent, with enough time and bonding with my person, my current cautiousness can fade away. I have so much potential to grow into a loving, affectionate, and gentle companion. I’m careful because I was hurt, but that also means I’m truly ready to learn what love is. What I need isn’t special training or advanced skills— just someone who can say, “It’s okay. Take your time.” I’m waiting for someone who will walk beside me through that time, until my heart feels safe enough to fully open. My past may have been painful, but my future can be warm— with you 🤍🐾

Not good with dogs,
Story
Hi, my name is Donny 🤍 I’m a female Jindo mix, I weigh about 18kg (40 lb), and I’m 3 years old. From the time I was very young, I lived tied up in front of a factory. I never got to leave that spot. I was just… there. A short leash. A few fixed steps I could take. And a space I had to protect—because no one else would. That factory wasn’t a playground or a place to rest. It was my entire world. A world where surviving was the only goal. I never learned how to meet people freely. I never learned how to make dog friends. My role was simple: guard my space, stay alive. Because of that life, I never had the chance to learn how to socialize with other dogs. When you grow up having to protect your space to survive, “other dogs” don’t feel like friends to play with. They can feel like something you must guard against. Not because you are aggressive— but because no one ever taught you another way. So if I seem uncomfortable around other dogs, please know this isn’t a flaw in my personality. It’s simply the mark of a life where I was never given the chance to learn. That’s why I’m looking for a home where I can be the only dog. A home where, for the first time, I don’t have to share love— but can receive it fully, completely, for the rest of my life. I spent so long tied up, never chosen, never held. Just once, I want to be someone’s everything. With people, I am incredibly gentle. Soft-hearted, affectionate, and full of sweet charm. I love human attention more than anything. Real home life is new to me. Even though I’m three years old, my heart is still like a puppy’s— playful, curious, and easily surprised by the world. If I’m adopted, I’ll need to learn everything from the beginning: potty training, living inside a home, sharing everyday life with people. That’s why I need a family who won’t rush me, who will wait, who will teach me with patience and love. Someone who will walk at my pace. Slowly. Gently. Respectfully. Please— just look at me once. I truly believe that if I meet my family, I will return the love I missed for so long many times over. I’ll be a loyal, devoted, and deeply loving companion— the kind of dog you can walk beside for a lifetime 🤍

Adopt Chocolat Affectionate • Independent • Resilient   Name: Chocolat Age: 2 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Black / White Weight: 8 kg (17.6 lbs) Height: 38 cm (15 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   In April 2025, Chocolat was rescued after being found abandoned inside a sack on the street along with another dog. The case was reported, but the person responsible was never identified.   After her rescue, Chocolat stayed at the WeAct Center before moving to the AKR Center in October, where she has been preparing for adoption ever since. Despite her traumatic past, she has shown incredible resilience and an affectionate spirit.     ‍ With People   Chocolat is friendly and social with both familiar and unfamiliar people. She enjoys approaching people, rubbing her body against them, and especially loves food—offering treats makes bonding with her very easy.   Due to her past trauma, she initially screamed if anyone reached under her belly, possibly from fear or previous mistreatment. With time and care, she has made great progress and can now be gently picked up without panic, though she still doesn’t enjoy being held.   She is very affectionate and often shows her belly to new people or follows them around asking for attention and pets.     With Other Dogs   Chocolat prefers calm, one-on-one friendships rather than group play. If her favorite dog friend isn’t around, she usually relaxes alone—lying on blankets or sunbathing on the grass.   She is not particular about size but prefers dogs that are gentle and non-pushy. She dislikes rude or dominant dogs and may bark at them to tell them to back off. While she may respond if provoked, she has never been in an actual fight—other dogs typically retreat when she sets boundaries.   She generally has low interest in other dogs and enjoys resting alone or playing independently with her toys.     With Cats   No observed reaction to cats yet. Cat testing can be arranged if needed.     Energy Level   Moderate energy overall. Low energy indoors and moderate energy outdoors. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward.     Walking   Chocolat enjoys walks and gets excited to go out. She may pull slightly on the leash but generally follows her handler well.     Other Notes   • No food guarding toward people • May growl if another dog approaches while she is eating or takes her toys • No separation anxiety • May bark briefly when first placed in a crate; settles well with toys or nose-work activities • Fully outdoor potty trained   Chocolat would do best in a home that respects her independence, understands her boundaries, and appreciates her affectionate yet self-sufficient nature. She is a loyal, loving companion for someone who values a calm and emotionally intelligent dog.   If you’re looking for a dog with depth, resilience, and a gentle soul, Chocolat may be the one for you Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.
