Sadly, his owner recently passed away unexpectedly, leaving him with nowhere to go. Now, this affectionate boy is looking for a family to love him again. With People Joonie is outgoing and affectionate, happily approaching familiar people and strangers alike. He enjoys leaning against people for affection and is comfortable being petted. If he takes a liking to you, he may even roll over for belly rubs! Having lived with a male owner, Joonie tends to bond with men quickly and respond more readily to their cues. He has not met children under 13. Sudden attempts to pick him up can startle him, but he can be lifted when approached slowly and gently. Joonie is a confident boy with a stubborn streak. He may interpret scolding as play, so he would benefit from a patient, confident adopter who can provide clear boundaries and consistent, reward-based training. With Other Dogs When Joonie first arrived, his limited social experience showed: he could persistently ask other dogs to play, even when they wanted space, and react to dogs that were hostile toward him. He has since become much more settled and gets along well with gentle, easygoing dogs, including friendly small dogs. A compatible canine companion and thoughtful introductions will be important. With Cats Joonie watches birds and cats closely on walks and appears to have a prey drive. A cat-free home is recommended. Energy & Walks Joonie has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities, then settles down quietly to rest afterward. He tends to pull at the beginning of walks when excited by his surroundings, but generally walks more calmly once he settles. If there is a direction he wants to go or a scent he wants to investigate, he may plant his feet and insist on taking his time! Continued leash training will help. Once I’ve had a moment to figure things out, I’ll happily approach you, let you pet me, and even settle into your arms. I’m genuinely fond of people, and it doesn’t take much to bring out my friendly personality! If you want to make the introduction even easier, I have a very simple suggestion: bring treats! I absolutely love tasty snacks, and the promise of something delicious is usually enough to convince me to approach just about anyone. My sibling Ppangsil and I were living in terrible conditions, and we were about to be sold to a dog meat farmer. Our lives were at risk, and without someone stepping in, we might never have had the chance to experience the love and happiness every dog deserves. Thankfully, kind rescuers found us just in time and brought us to safety before we could be sold. Because of their compassion, Ppangsil and I were given a second chance at life, and we no longer have to face such a frightening future. Those difficult days are finally behind me, and now I'm ready to begin a brand new chapter filled with love, comfort, and security. All I'm missing is a forever family who will cherish me, protect me, and show me what it truly means to be loved!
