Story
Lilly was rescued from a dog meat farm in Korea and brought to a local shelter. While there, all her puppies got adopted, leaving her as the last Jindo dog at the shelter. When I visited the shelter looking for a friend for my other dog, Ricki, I saw Lilly and knew I had to take her home. Since adopting her in early 2019, she's been a great addition to our family and a wonderful sister to Ricki.

Story
Hi! My name is Jinsook! I'm a 12 year old, female, White Korean Jindo mix and weigh approximately 43lbs. I was surrendered by my owner on 4/26/2023 because my owner was moving and was not able to take me. I am currently living the good life in foster care while I wait for my new family. I am currently living with 3 big dogs (male and female) and get along well with all of them. I do need to be fed separately from other dogs when it's time to eat. Don't let my age fool you; I have some pep in her step and am still quite playful! I enjoy morning walks, with or without my friend Honey, and am good on the leash. I am a sweet, affectionate lady who enjoys being petted. I am house and crate trained. I do not get on the furniture (although I am allowed to do so and am capable of jumping on the couch). I would do best in a home without children or cats. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative! Because I am currently in foster, meet and greets will be scheduled by approved application only! To apply, please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. April 29, 2024, 1:01 pm

Story
Hello there, I'm Little Bear. My days are filled with curiosity, sniffing out new scents and exploring my surroundings. I'm a senior, but my spirit is young. I'm a bit anxious, but I find comfort in the presence of kind humans. I'd love to have someone who's home most of the day. We could share quiet moments, maybe you reading a book and me dozing off by your side. We could explore the world together, one slow walk at a time. I would love a home that would be patient with me as I learn the ropes in my new home. I prefer the company of humans and would be best as an only dog. If you have a calm dog, I would need to meet them first to see if we are a good match. Come meet me any day noon to 6pm at 2400 Lone Star Drive.

Story
Lucy, named because she was found 'on the loose, is a sweet 35 lb. black chow. After being brought in as a stray, Lucy immediately started showing immense love and gratitude to her foster parents. She is 1-2 years old and while she generally has a very calm temperament at home, she loves her play time with her fosters and most importantly, her foster fur sibling. Lucy would do great in a home with other dogs who are interested in having play time.

Lucy is crate and house-trained, but will require some training to get more comfortable walking with a leash. She currently gets very overwhelmed by all the stimulation on walks, and has a hard time staying focused. She would thrive in a house with a backyard as she is very adventurous and loves to explore. Her favorite activity is chasing squirrels and birds, and she could entertain herself for quite some time if she had a backyard of her own.

Whether it is giving you a kiss or hug (which she does often), Lucy looks at you with her big brown eyes and truly makes you feel like the most important person in the world. She may take a little bit of time to warm up to a new person because of what she's been through, but it only takes her a few minutes to get comfortable and be herself. She is so grateful to be taken care of and shown the life she deserves that she will make a fantastic companion in her forever home.

Story
Miss Suki, of North Texas, is seeking a new family. She tells us that she would like an active home as she currently enjoys multiple walks on her average day, currently totaling four miles. She insists the length is not the most important feature to walks, simply the exercise and spending time with her human(s).

She's open to a family of one or many, with adults or older children. She has no prejudice against younger children, simply concerned that she may become overly enthused, but as always training can help with such situations. Miss Suki is also a fan of treats and toys, enjoying a good game of chase.

She has not made a study of 'tricks' or commands, but is open to the idea. Miss Suki has, however, made a study of Pets and Cuddles and greatly enjoys them. Young Miss Suki has also made a study of Leash and Crate skills and is proficient in both, only testing a lead in the presence of bunnies or other prey-looking beings. She may fancy herself a huntress. Observations have also been made that Miss Suki enjoys car rides, taking in the vistas with gusto.
