Meet Sarang! A gentle four-year-old Jindo/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Fort Worth, TX, whose snow-white coat and soulful eyes are only matched by his love for people and peaceful strolls through the neighborhood. At 65 pounds, Sarang is the perfect blend of solid companionship and mellow energy. He’s house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations, ready to step paw-first into a new chapter with a new loving family. This big-hearted boy thrives on routine and structure, responding beautifully to several basic commands like sit, touch, shake, down, and wait. Though he hasn’t had formal obedience classes, his calm and attentive nature makes him a wonderful student of daily life. Sarang’s idea of a good time? A relaxing walk with his favorite human, followed by a satisfying meal and some quality downtime. He’s calm and composed when left alone, making him a great match for families with varied schedules. While he's friendly and playful with people of all ages, children and adults alike, he’s neutral around other animals. He previously lived peacefully with a fellow dog and doesn’t seek out other pets, preferring human companionship most of all. He does have a few quirks that add to his charm. Thunderstorms make him a little uneasy, and bath time isn’t exactly his favorite activity, but who among us doesn’t have a few things we’d rather skip? Health-wise, Sarang is doing well, with only a history of chronic ear infections to be mindful of. This affectionate boy would thrive in a calm home that enjoys quiet walks, relaxed weekends, and heartwarming companionship. A fenced yard where he can safely explore would be a bonus, and a family that appreciates his gentle spirit will be rewarded with unconditional loyalty and love! Story
Kristoff is being fostered in Ocala FL. Kristoff is a very unique dog and such a juxtaposition! He hates car rides, but loves walks. He is the happiest, sweetest, tail-wagging floof, but is a tough as nails street dog at his core. He is a happy go lucky, friendly guy on one hand, but if he gets contained, he is absolutely frantic to break free. He loves to be with the other dogs, but will be reactive and quickly defensive if startled. His face is greying, but his energy and enthusiasm are still puppy-like with no signs of slowing down (except for some occasional signs of doggy dementia.) He does not tolerate his front paws being touched, but does allow the vet tech to trim his nails, though reluctantly. Surprisingly, he really enjoys being brushed, but no noisy trimmers which makes grooming tricky. Kris’s health is good and he is doing well on that front. He has lost a significant amount of weight and leveled off now, so he is much healthier. He thrives on routine and verbal cues, which he learns easily with repetition. Kristoff is full of contradictions and challenges which will require a special experienced adopter, a lot of patience, work and communication. Although he loves to be with a pack, it is probably easier to acclimate him in a home without any other pets, but older children are ok. Kris would prefer a home with his human home much of the time. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
