A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we're hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Jin Ju At 9–10 years old, Jin Ju has already known a lifetime of heartbreak. Believed to be a Korean Jindo, a breed renowned for its sharp intelligence, independence, and deep, unwavering devotion to its person, Jin Ju deserves to spend her golden years surrounded by love instead of in a shelter. She arrived as a stray—emaciated, terrified, and completely alone. When the shelter scanner revealed a microchip, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, certain her family would come running. Instead, her previous owner made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her. For a Jindo, loyalty is legendary. They form incredibly strong bonds with their people, and being abandoned is especially devastating. For weeks, Jin Ju wouldn't let anyone touch her. True to her breed's cautious and highly observant nature, she stayed tucked away in the corner, quietly carrying the invisible weight of losing the only life she had known. But little by little, Jin Ju has begun to heal. As she has learned to trust the shelter staff, her gentle personality has started to shine through. At just 25 pounds, this dainty girl moves with the quiet, graceful elegance of a fox. She's even started doing joyful zoomies in the yard and has discovered that playing can be fun again. Watching her slowly rediscover happiness has been incredibly special. Jin Ju is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue building trust at her own pace. She needs a patient soul—someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed and is willing to let her settle into a new environment on her own timeline. Given the time, kindness, and understanding she deserves, we truly believe she will form an incredible bond with her person. She would do well with another quiet, independent dog who respects her space, but she'd be just as happy as the only dog soaking up all the love. She is not a good fit for a home with cats. She walks beautifully on a leash, is likely potty trained, and has all the makings of a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates the quiet loyalty of a senior dog. All she wants is a soft place to land and someone willing to give her the love she has always deserved. Age: 9-10 Years Gender: FemaleWeight: 25 lbs Breed: Korean Jindo (Best Guess) Spayed/Neutered: Scheduled Potty Trained: Likely Crate Trained: not sure Leash Manners: Excellent Good with Dogs: Yes, calm dogs who respect her space Good with Cats: No Good with Kids: Not tested yet Jin Ju has already survived more heartbreak than any dog should. Now she just needs one person to show her that the rest of her story can have a happy ending. If you're able to foster or adopt and help secure her ride to Wisconsin, please apply today. www.muttlife.org__________Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate).
