Story
Josie is an affectionate, snuggly, smart, and very beautiful dog. She is quiet and not a barker! For some reason she's not afraid of thunder, fireworks or ambulances. She loves chasing balls AND will bring them back. She loves walks, hiking, and lounging around the house. Josie does well on a leash, knows basic commands, does not door dash, and is treat motivated. She can be at doggy daycares and boarding, meet other dogs and kids at parks just fine, and can be left home alone. Josie gets along well with other dogs if they're not in her house. She is house defensive. She won't do well with other pets in the home. Josie has shown nervousness and aggression toward very young children but gets along fine with older kids who understand boundaries. Is not crate trained. If she sees people she knows outside the home, she wants to excitedly jump on them. She has learned not to jump on visitors or us in the house. Josie is ready for a new loving home and will be a fantastic friend for life!

Story
Jacob was the most popular name for baby boys in the U.S. for 14 consecutive years, from 1999 through 2012. Its popularity surge was partly influenced by the Twilight series, with the nickname `Jake` also contributing to its widespread appeal. When we think of the “Jakes” we’ve known, we think of laid-back, fun-loving guys, much like our very own pup named Jake!Jake was surrendered to the shelter when his owner moved and could no longer care for him. He was reported to do well with a teenager in the home as well as other dogs that he encountered. Volunteers love Jake, saying the following:“Jake is an adorable, woofy flufferbutt! I I entered a play yard where he was and he ?greeted me immediately with a happy body. He loves pets and snuggles and would follow me around the yard so that I could pet him! If I stopped he would ask me to continue. He`s a chatty guy with a big personality! He is one fun dude and I really enjoyed spending time with him!” “Jake is an adorable, big old teddy bear of a dog. I find him so cute with his bright eyes, perky ears, and fluffy coat. He is easy to leash, easy to walk, and non-reactive to other dogs. He ambles along slowly, taking in the sights and smells, and seems happy to have time outside. He’s easy to return to his kennel.”Jake shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, tolerant and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home. It may be hard to believe that Jake is 10 years old, given his spunk, but he truly is looking for an active senior’s retirement home! He’d love to go on walks and play, followed by plenty of time to rest with his loved ones. If you’re looking for a great pup to add to your family, come meet Jake!

Story
Butternut is a cautious young gal looking for a home with a family who will give her time and space to settle in. She spent about a month and a half in a foster home- here’s what we learned:- She’s a quiet houseguest but will bark her happiness in anticipation of dinner - She did well with other resident dogs - She is non- destructive and well- behaved when left home alone- She is house trained- She likes to catch treats in the air, enjoys snuffle mats and is curious and playfulHere’s what one of Butternut’s volunteer advocates said:“I worked with Butternut this morning. She has made clear progress. Walks well but a little slowly. She was willing to approach for treats held in my fingers and with some work I was able to establish touch and get some scratches in. Good walk back and easy unleash.”Butternut shares her kennel with another PACC pup and would likely do best with a confident furry friend to help her adjust in her future home. When meeting other dogs in playgroup she’s been social, tolerant and easygoing. Please ask about Butternut today!
