Story
Hi, I’m Stevie Wonder! I’m a 4-year-old, 50-pound pit bull mix with a gorgeous graphite silver coat and a story that shows just how resilient and lovable a pup can be. When I was just a tiny puppy, I was thrown out of a window. My head took the brunt of the impact, and while I never regained all of my cognitive abilities, I’ve grown into a happy, goofy, and affectionate dog who lives life with tail wags and smiles. I’m a special needs dog as I have some hearing and vision issues, and I run in circles much of the time—it’s my way of navigating the world and showing my excitement. I’m not completely deaf or blind, and I’ve learned my own unique ways to stay connected. On walks, I’ll circle back and touch your leg to reassure myself of my boundaries. In familiar areas, I can even walk without a leash because I know how to find my way back to you. I cannot be left alone, as I panic if I’m by myself even for a few minutes. But with another passive dog by my side, I’m perfectly content. My foster buddy Houdini has become my helper—he’ll retrieve me if I wander too far, and he even lets me eat first because he knows I’m special. I thrive in a home where I’ll always have companionship, whether from people or another gentle dog. I’m neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, leash trained, and pen trained. Potty training is still a work in progress, but with patience and consistency, I’ll continue to improve. I do have some food aggression, especially if cats were to get near my bowl, so I’d do best in a cat-free home. But I have no human aggression at all—I adore people and love being close to them. My favorite thing in the world? Water! Splashing, swimming, playing—I’m all in. I’m silly, loyal, and full of personality. If you’re patient, understanding, and ready to embrace my quirks, I’ll reward you with endless love, laughter, and companionship. I’m currently fostered in Sanford, NC, but I can be transported to the right home (transport fees may apply). If you’re 21 or older and ready to welcome a joyful, resilient companion who will keep you smiling every day, I’d love to be your Stevie Wonder.

Story
Hello, I’m Hazel, a 5-year-old American Bulldog mix with a white and tan coat and a big smile. I’m a playful and sweet girl who loves to have fun and cuddle with my people. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m house and crate trained, but I need some help learning to walk better on a leash. I get so excited to go for walks, and I’m very strong which means I can pull hard. I need an owner who can handle me and teach me some manners. I’m good with older children and other dogs, especially mellow ones. We don’t know how I feel about cats, but I can be cat-tested if you want. I have a lot of energy and I like to run around and play with balls. But I also like to relax and nap in my own space. I have a large kennel where I feel comfortable and safe. I don’t like to be outdoors for too long, I prefer to be inside with my people. I’m afraid of being abandoned, so I don’t like to go far from home. I have some digestive issues, so I need a special diet of lamb and rice. I also need to be crated when I’m not supervised, because I can chew on things. I’m a big girl, about 77 pounds, and I can be clumsy sometimes. I would not do well with small kids, because I might knock them over. But if you are used to large dogs, you will love me. I’m a gentle giant who just wants to be loved. I have a lot of potential and I’m ready to show you what a great dog I can be. I’m being fostered in New Kent, VA but I can be transported to other states for the right home. If you think you are the one for me, please fill out an application and let’s meet. Must be at least 21 years old to apply. I can’t wait to see you!

Story
Hey there, I'm Peta! A 2-year-old brindle Bulldog mix with a bit of a rocky start, but I’m ready to find my forever home. I was rescued by a kind man who saved me from a life of chains and neglect. Before rescue, I was not socialized well with other dogs and need to be the only dog in the home. I am not good with cats either. These days, I’m turning into a big lover. I go belly up for rubs any chance I get—honestly, that’s all I want now. I love people and I’m a silly, affectionate girl who’s learning how good life can be. I was raised outside, but I’m getting the hang of being an indoor dog and discovering how cozy it is. I adore toys, especially chew bones, and I’m very food motivated, which makes training easier and more fun. I’m getting better at being in a crate and would do best with older kids who can understand my need for patience and love. I might get a little overstimulated and mouthy sometimes, but I promise, with time and kindness, I’ll show you just how good of a girl I can be. I’d make a wonderful companion animal—I’ve got a lot of love to give and I’m ready to share it. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m currently in Clayton, NC, but I can travel to other states for my perfect match. Please note, there is a fee for transport.

Story
Hi there! I’m Jynx, a 3-year-old mix (maybe pit/boxer?) with soft fawn fur, adorable white socks, and a personality as lovable as my look. If you’re searching for a snuggle buddy and an outdoor adventurer wrapped into one, I might be your perfect match. I love lounging for cuddles as much as I enjoy zooming around the yard and playing tug with ropes and toys. Life hasn’t always been easy, but I adjusted quickly to my cozy new home after being rescued right before Christmas—and what a gift that was! Now, I’m thriving and soaking up all the love and fun that comes my way. I am working on dog relationships as there was a dog I did not get along with well in my previous foster home. For now, we will try to find me a home as the only dog until I can work on being comfortable around other dogs. I’m gentle and curious around cats. I would do fine to meet kids but will not be allowed to live with kids because I can be nervous and lack confidence at times. I’m house-trained, and leash-trained. I don’t like being crated but behave well when unmonitored outside of the crate. I’m also spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to brighten your life with my goofy, loving energy. Since I can be a bit of a barker, I wouldn’t be suited for apartment living. I’m currently in Hampton Roads, VA, but I’d happily make the journey to find my forever home (transport fees apply). If you’re 21 or older and lo

Story
Hi there, I’m Emmie, a 4-year-old, 76-pound, white and black pit bull mix. I’m a laid-back and cuddly girl who loves to be with my people. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m a smart girl who is house and crate trained. I’m looking for a committed and understanding owner who can give me the time and training I need to overcome my insecurities. I’m a sweet and loyal companion who will make you happy and proud. I will do my best as an only pet, with no other dogs or cats, and with no children in the home. I am a laid-back girl who absolutely loves to relax and cuddle but is also always down for an adventure. I am satisfied just being with my people doing whatever the day brings and will adjust my energy level to match yours. While I am laid back, I need someone who is willing to set rules, provide boundaries, and give proper decompression time when first bringing me home. Giving me structure and guidance helps me feel more secure and will create trust with my new family. I’m currently being fostered in Hampton Roads, VA, but I can be transported to nearby states if you’re the right match for me. I’m looking for a loving and stable home where I can have fun and snuggle with my people. If you’re looking for a fun and faithful furry friend, I’m the one for you! Complete an application and my rescue will be in touch. *Must be 21 or older to apply.

Story
Hey there, adventure seekers! I’m Sake, a vibrant American Pit bull with a gorgeous brindle coat that’s as unique as my personality. I’m a 5-year-old boy, weighing in at a fit 52lbs, and I’m all about that active life. I’m neutered and my vaccines are up to date. When it comes to training, I’m your guy – I’ve mastered the leash, crate, and house like a pro. People? I love 'em! I’ve never met a human I didn’t like, and I thrive on making new friends. I’m a bundle of energy and joy, always ready for a run in the great outdoors or a long, exploratory walk. I would do best with teenagers and adults since I’m a big boy who enjoys a rougher style of play. I don’t want to accidently bump over any kiddos. My face is one of my best features, if I do say so myself, and although I’m not the biggest pup on the block, I’ve got a heart that’s larger than life. Now, I do like to be the center of attention, so I’m looking to be your one and only pet. Sharing isn’t really my thing – I mean, who wants to share the spotlight or their favorite toys, right? If you’re in the market for a loyal companion to join you on all your escapades, look no further. I’m being fostered in Sanford, NC, but for the right home, I can be transported. Please note, there is a transport fee. Ready for a lifetime of adventures? Let’s get this party started!
