Story
Hi, I'm Blue, a handsome blue and white pit bull who is looking for my forever home. I'm about 70 pounds, neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also house, crate, and leash trained, but I could use some more practice on the leash. I'm a loyal, playful, and affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and give kisses. I'm very smart and eager to please, and I enjoy learning new tricks and playing with toys. I have a good energy and gusto, so I need a home where I can get exercise and mental stimulation. I'm good with older children who can handle my size and strength, but I'm not a fan of small kids who might pull my ears or tail. I'm also dog selective, which means I don't get along with every dog I meet. I need a proper introduction and a compatible match or to be the only dog in the home. I have not been cat tested, but I can be if you are interested in me. I'm currently being fostered in Hampton, VA, but I can travel to another state for the right home. I'm looking for a responsible and committed owner who can provide me with a loving and secure environment. You must be 21 or older to apply. If you think you are the one for me, please fill out an application and let's meet. I promise to be your best friend and faithful companion for life.

Story
Hi, I’m Bugle! I’m four years old, 23 pounds of pug mix personality, and I’m here to keep life lively. Now, let’s talk about me honestly—I’m not your average, easygoing pup. I’m spirited, mischievous, and bursting with energy. I’ve got a knack for finding creative ways to entertain myself, which sometimes means chewing up blankets, beds, or occasionaly a cable cord. I’m still working on my potty training, and guard my food. I’ll need a patient person who can help me learn better manners. I’m hyper, playful, and dramatic in the funniest ways—you’ll never wonder what I’m thinking because I’ll let you know. I’m not a match for homes with small children, but I do great with other dogs and can be cat tested if needed. My antics might keep you on your toes, but they’ll also keep you laughing. Here’s the thing: beneath all the chaos, I’m sweet. I love other dogs, I enjoy snuggles when I’ve burned off my energy, and I’ve got a scrappy little face that makes people smile even when I’ve just caused a little trouble. I respond well to correction, and with consistency, I’ll thrive. I’m neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and currently hanging out in Hampton, VA (though I can be transported out of state for the right home). If you’re looking for a dog who’s full of personality, who will challenge you, entertain you, and reward you with affection once you’ve earned my trust, I’m your guy. I’m not perfect—but I’m perfectly Bugle.

Story
Hi there! My name is Gunner, and I’m a 45-pound hound mix with a big heart and a love for life’s simple joys. I’m laid-back by nature, but I light up when it’s playtime. Toys are my jam—ropes, frisbees, tug-of-war—you name it! I’m also an expert squeaker hunter (though fair warning, once the squeaker’s out, I lose interest in the toy). I really like kids! I will fill your day with plenty of love and affection. I’ve got so much potential just waiting to shine, and all I need is a home where I can be myself—a happy, carefree dog. I’m a smart boy, too! I walk like a champ on leash, and I even follow off-leash pretty well. Plus, I’m both crate and house-trained, so you don’t have to worry about me learning the ropes. I am not good with other dogs as I don’t like to share my toys, food or water with them. Don’t worry, I’m totally comfortable with people around me while I eat and play. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. I’m currently staying in a foster home in Hampton, Virginia, but I can travel out of state for the right family (a transport fee applies). If you think I’d be a great fit for your home, please complete an adoption application—I can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Hey, I’m Stormy—a three-year-old brindle beauty with a splash of white and a whole lot of energy. People say I look black at first glance, but up close, you’ll see the gorgeous mix of colors that make me one-of-a-kind. I’m 65 pounds of muscle, speed, and curiosity, and if you’ve got a ball to throw, I’ll chase it all day long. I’m fast, agile, and love sniffing out every corner of the yard. Birds? I’ll chase those too, just for fun. I’m potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained, though I’ll admit I’m still working on my manners when other dogs walk by. I’ve been training for a few months now—I passed basic and know several commands—but I’m still a bit of a nervous Nelly. I bark at people who pass by my house, and I’m not a fan of walking in the rain. Sometimes I’m just not in the mood for a walk at all, but I do love sunbathing and rolling around in the bed like it’s my personal playground. I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. I’m not a snuggler or a lap dog—I like my space and independence—but I do love being near my people. I’m good with older kids, though I’m still working on not jumping up when I get excited. I am not good with other dogs. Cats? I haven’t met any yet, but I can be tested if needed. I’m spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and currently living in Winston-Salem, NC. I can travel out of state if you’re the right fit—just note that a transport fee may apply. If you’re looking for a loyal, spirited companion who’ll keep you on your toes and fill your days with sunshine and personality, I’m ready to meet you. I’m not perfect, but I’m working hard—and I’ve got a whole lot of love to give.

Story
Hello there! My name is Tommy. I’m about 8-years-old, weigh 60 lbs. and am an American Bulldog mix with a personality as bright as my gorgeous white coat. Oh, and don’t miss my charming brown left ear—it’s my signature look! Plus, when it’s bath time or I get to splash around in water, you might spot the cutest hidden spots under my coat. I’m a friendly, loyal boy who lives for people and their attention. My story began in Miami-Dade, Florida, where life was tough—skinny, hungry, and facing a looming big storm. But everything changed in 2020 when the heroes from Operation Save a Shelter Dog came to my rescue. They gave me a second chance, and I’ve embraced it wholeheartedly. Now I’m thriving, healthy, and ready to find my forever home! I’m not just handsome—I’m smart and well-mannered too! I know basic commands, walk politely on a leash, and I’m both housebroken and crate trained. Treats are my kryptonite (in the best way), which makes me super easy to train and eager to earn praise for being the good boy that I am. That said, I’ve got my quirks. I’ve had some rough experiences with other animals, which can make me reactive around dogs. I’ve made progress, but I still need slow, patient introductions to build trust. Because of my strong prey drive, I wouldn’t be a fit for a home with cats, small dogs, or other critters. And hey, I like to feel safe when eating, so I need to be fed meals in my crate where I won’t react if I think my food will be taken away. I promise I’m just fine sharing treats, though! I adore older kids who can match my playful and goofy energy—it’s always fun to tumble around and make memories. I’d thrive with an experienced and confident handler who enjoys practicing training with me to help boost my confidence even further. Here’s the great news: I’m fully up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and in excellent health. I’m currently being fostered in Hampton, VA, but don’t worry—if you’re out of state, I can be transported to the perfect home (transport fees apply). You must be 21 or older to apply.

Story
Hi! My name is Tristan. I’m a one-year-old, 122 pound, Dogo Argentino. I was found in Baltimore, Maryland as a stray. I love dogs and am a little too interested in cats. I can be extremely fearful of humans. I have been working with a trainer, and my foster mom has been taking it slowly with me to build trust. Because of this, applicants should be Dogo savvy or have training experience and be willing to continue my training. This will set me up for success. My foster mom says I’m a BIG baby with her and I LOVE to give kisses to my babysitters and the girls at my Vet. My mom has gotten me professional training, and I am a teacher’s pet (see what I did there??) My teacher says I am sooo smart and love to work! I am particularly fearful of men and anything with wheels like scooters, bicycles, etc. I am learning and take trips to stores and parks to work on this. I am well trained and know sit, down, shake (BOTH paws!) I walk at a heel and am learning “drop it” and “place”. I am neutered, heartworm negative, ride well in the car and I do well at boarding too. I would love someone who knows my breed and will continue my training. I am located in Apex, NC but can be transported. Please note, there may be a transport fee. I am a good boy and LOVE my humans.
