THE SWEETEST girl EVER! We rescued this fantastic dog from an overcrowded shelter in Barstow. What a find she is. She is small, weighing only 44 pounds. Mimi is just an extremely well adjusted dog that is perfect in so many environments. She is fostered with several dogs, loves humans, gets the zoomies to let everyone know how happy she is. If you want a lovely dog, that you can take everywhere and will be be perfectly behaved, Mimi is your gal. Not to mention, the prettiest blue eyes. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Story
Meet Jjajangl! He is the sweetest boyl! He is a 4 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade. Jjajang and some of his family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app May 14, 2026, 5:48 pm

I'm Jerry, a sweet and handsome Jindo mix who’s ready for a fresh start. I come from a heartbreaking hoarding situation with 75+ dogs in South Korea, but even after everything I’ve been through, I’m still a sweet and resilient boy. I’m about 40 lbs, which makes me the perfect medium size — sturdy enough for adventures, but still very cuddly. I can be a little sensitive at first, so I’m looking for a patient, calm home where I can keep building my confidence at my own pace. I would do best in a cat-free home. What I really need is someone who believes in me — someone who knows that love, safety, and consistency can change everything. With time and kindness, I promise I’ll grow into the most loyal companion. In order for me to take my freedom flight, I need a committed foster or adopter. Meet Stardust, the sweetest, most gentle and calm little lady in LA! Stardust is a 2 year old jindo mix who came to LA all the way from South Korea. She’s about 35 pounds of pure sweetness - the perfect mid-size gal! She is a quiet and shy girl who is still learning about all the perks of being out of the shelter and in a loving home. She loves to lounge around with her human and is working hard on building confidence outside. Stardust has such a gentle and kind demeanor, we know that once she meets her new PAWrents she will open her heart to them and give them so much love. Stardust had a rough past - she was rescued as a puppy (with her brother Ziggy) from the illegal meat trades in South Korea. She then spent over a year in the Korean shelter, before taking her freedom flight to LA. Because she’s been through so much, Stardust is a very cautious and timid pup who would do best in a patient family who is committed to working through her fear so she can grow into the confident dog we know she can be! A doggy sibling would be a major bonus - Stardust adores other dogs and really opens up when she has a furry friend around.
