Ziggy is a sweet, spunk 1.5 year old pup who is a Jindo mix and weighs about 35 lbs. Rescued from a dog meat farm along with his sister, Stardust, in South Korea while they were puppies; Ziggy was living in unimaginable conditions before our partners stepped in and saved them. Ziggy may be a bit shy at first, but once he trusts you, his playful, goofy side will shine through. Ziggy is great with other dogs and loves to socialize! Ziggy is in need for a committed foster or adopter to help him start his new life. He can be adopted/fostered with his sister Stardust, or on his own. Story
**FOSTER NEEDED** Moonie is a 4-year-old Jindo mix with the heart of a loyal best friend and the soul of a goofball. This sweet boy is all about you—he bonds closely with his person and lives for quality time, butt scratches, and the sound of your voice. Talk to him in a high-pitched tone or playfully poke at him, and you’ll be treated to his signature howls and helicopter tail. Moonie absolutely lives for toys, treats, and walks. Once the excitement passes, he’s actually quite calm and loves nothing more than curling up for a cozy nap. Moonie’s story is nothing short of remarkable. He came all the way from South Korea, where he was rescued from a hoarding situation with 75 other dogs. For years, he lived on a chain, never knowing the simple comfort of a soft bed or a caring hand. When he finally made it to the U.S., he arrived with his “wife,” Olive (fka Midori)—that’s what the shelter called her, because they were always together. Sadly, they were separated when they reached safety, but Moonie is now fostered with his daughter, Anya (fka Bellini), making his journey a true family rescue story. After everything he had already been through, Moonie still faced more challenges. He needed dental surgery and had to have 10 teeth removed so he could live without pain. He was treated for mange, and was expressed that he will likely have chronic dermatitis throughout his life. With patience and love, Moonie has transformed into a healthy, happy boy who knows he is finally safe. Despite it all, Moonie’s heart has stayed gentle. He communicates well, especially when he really needs to go out, and has a calm, affectionate nature that makes everyone who meets him fall in love. Moonie is still building confidence around other dogs, but he thrives with companionship and would do great in a home with another calm dog. He doesn’t always play with other pups, but just having another dog nearby gives him a sense of comfort and security. He does well being left alone at home if has a buddy nearby! If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, slightly dramatic (in the cutest way) companion who will fill your days with howls, wiggles, and heart-melting looks, Moonie is ready to meet you.

Story
Hi, I’m HOPE, and boy do I hope you’ll give me a chance. I’m a 2 year old, 60 lb male jindo mix! If you don’t know much about my breed, you should definitely look us up, we’re pretty awesome dogs, if I do say so myself. I’d love to tell you a bit more about my personality! I got my name because even though I come from neglect and hardship, I have a sunny disposition and know my family is out there, I just have to have hope. I am a very calm, gentle and loving boy. The volunteers at the shelter say I’m one of their favorites because I always greet them with soft kisses and a warm doggy smile. Some people even say I give off a soothing energy and might make for an awesome emotional support dog if given the proper training! I’ve never lived in a home before, but I think I’d be a bit of a couch potato, I love relaxing and observing. Although walks are my favorite! I love sniffing around and seeing the world. I do great with other dogs, too! I have been through a lot in my short life. I spent the first 1.5 years chained up in a filthy junk yard in South Korea. My “owner” finally surrendered me to Samson’s Sanctuary, and I was so excited to get the care I needed! I am now living at Samson’s shelter partner in Korea, waiting patiently for my hero. In order to take my freedom flight, I need a committed foster or adopter! Please help me get to LA, I promise I’ll repay you with all the love I’ve got (and it’s a lot!).

Story
Hi! My name is Otis, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: C’DT23-01 / Otis SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Male / 61.7 lbs / 4 Years BIRTH DATE: Nov 12, 2019 BREED: Jindo mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinated / Neutered / Healthy BEHAVIOR: Otis is sweet and kind. He is a bit timid at first, but warms up right away with the right person. Once he learns about the person's kind intention, he will greet them with a wagging tail. Otis loves to be cuddled! Otis plays well with the dogs he knows well, but may be a bit awkward and timid around the new dogs. Otis is great on a leash! Will be a bit hesitant when a stranger walks by, but with more exposure, he will quickly get used to it. Otis doesn't show any other behavioral issues such as biting, barking, or separation anxiety. SIBLINGS/FAMILY: Unknown BACKGROUND: Rescued from a slaughterhouse in November of 2021. ABOUT JINDOS Jindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature. They make great indoor family dogs, as Jindos are clean and easily housetrained, and are faithful to family members. They are also mid-level active and love being socialized at dog parks, going on hikes, and joining the family on trips. ABOUT OUR DOGS DoVE dogs come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form.

My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: CARE23-033 SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Male/50lbs/5 years old BIRTH DATE: 3/1/2020 BREED: Jindo mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Neutered / Healthy BEHAVIOR: Teddy is a friendly and affectionate dog who enjoys human company. He may initially be cautious around strangers, but quickly warms up to them within a day or two. Teddy also gets along with dogs of all sizes, but he may avoid highly energetic dogs. Teddy has a moderate to low energy level. Teddy is well-behaved and walks calmly on a leash. SIBLINGS/FAMILY: Teddy was rescued with his mate and 6 babies. BACKGROUND: Teddy was rescued in Paju in April 2021 along with his mate and six puppies. At the time of the rescue, the injuries he sustained appeared to have narrowly avoided decapitation and left his neck looking as though it were rotting away. It was later discovered that he had been caught in a noose and had narrowly escaped death. Teddy was unable to bark due to the pain, but was very protective of his 6 puppies and their mother. The entire family was rescued together. ABOUT JINDOS Jindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature.
