Meet handsome Rilo! He's a super nice dog who was in limbo for a long time. His owner couldn't take care of Rilo anymore but couldn't decide to give him up either, so he just sat in boarding. Finally, Rilo is free and can find his forever home. And he's ready to go home with you! He's the sweetest, most adorable guy! Rilo gets along with other dogs and he would do ok in an apartment or a home with a secure yard. He's very soft and just beautiful! Story
What is more heartwarming than a pair of soulful eyes looking to you for comfort? Library is a beautiful, dark-brindle gentleman who finds himself completely overwhelmed by a loud environment, especially while wearing a medical cone. This neutered boy is currently navigating a leg injury and needs a quiet space to focus on his healing routine. He thrives on a gentle approach, taking his time to assess his surroundings while keeping his gray-muzzled face turned toward kind faces. Once he feels secure in a peaceful setting, his shy exterior completely melts away. He loves nothing more than to curl up right by his people, offering quiet companionship and gentle leans as thanks for your care. He is ready to pack up his cone and move into a relaxing environment immediately. Open your heart and bring this resilient boy into your quiet home today.

Story
Hi! This is Ellie. She is one of the sweetest and funniest dogs I have ever met. She doesn’t bark at anything but if you get her worked up she’s not afraid to have a full on conversation with you and give you a piece of her mind (I swear she’s part husky lol). She is such a cuddle bug and so fun to take around. She makes friends wherever she goes and loves everyone she meets. Brags about Ellie - • House trained • Knows commands such as sit and stay (stay isn’t quite flawless lol) • Good off leash • Amazing with other dogs, cats (including kittens) and kiddos. • Has the energy of a couch potato at home but at the park can play like she’s a puppy • Very loving and loves a good cuddleShe’s an absolute gem and would make a wonderful addition to any family. I would absolutely love to find someone who has another dog as she loves friends so much, but if not someone willing to take her to the dog park or Zilker regularly Please contact me to set up a meet and greet if interested

Story
Affectionately called "Dorito Ears," Trap is very smart and knows the common commands. He would also want to let you know that he would love to learn more from you! His favorite things in the world are discovering balls in the yard and his friends. This cuddle bug would like an medium/active energy owner. By this we mean, you either love walks or would fit him into your gardening time in the yard. He would know how to self entertain with balls/toys as you garden, but sometimes would come in check with you to make sure you know he's still your garden pal. Treat motivated and Dog selective, Trap can be friends with his peers with proper introductions. He trusts the humans he knows and will slowly warm up to strangers. Once he gets some of his energy out, Trap is very content just relaxing, check in for some pets, napping, and playing with his toys. He also loves to snuggle. Trap is very house trained and rides well in the car. He is a very smart cookie and loves puzzle games too! He will thrive with an active person who will engage his body and his brain. If you've read this far, here are some unique quirks Trap has. He is afraid of sizzling noise of kitchen cooking, curious about dish washer, and is not a fan of the vacuum sounds. Will gather most of his toys into a place he's identified as his safe space / nap spot / or eating place. Knows the words home, find it, and inside + up/down. Understands Let's go/ walkie. Has a strong sit and lay down command is still being worked on. I'M NOT AT APA! yet, but I’m hoping my turn is coming soon. I’m currently at a partner shelter, and I’ve been placed on their Urgent Placement List - which means I’m one of their highest priority dogs to find a way out. I’ve been told that if someone steps up to foster or adopt me, APA! will bring me into their program and help me get ready for home life, so I'm just waiting to be chosen. All it takes is one person to change everything for me - email dog-foster-placement@austinpetsalive.org to be that person!
