Meet Katja! Katja is a sweet Great Pyrenees who may be a little shy around new people, but once she gets to know you, her playful and happy personality shines through. She loves attention and enjoys being pampered in the grooming room. Katja walks well on a leash and truly enjoys her daily walks, making her a wonderful companion for outdoor adventures. She would thrive in a home where she can build confidence at her own pace and be part of a loving, patient family. A meet and greet at the shelter is required with any other dogs in the home to ensure a smooth and happy transition. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
