Atticus was a stray that ended up at a Kansas shelter. For reasons unknown to us, no owner came for him. We rescued Atticus so we could find his furever home! 2.5 year old Atticus needs a very specific home: ✅A quiet home without a lot of people and visitors coming and going. He takes his guardianship seriously and will bark to alert you of any activity— people and vehicles he sees & hears on your street ✅He takes time to warm up to new people. He tends to warm up quicker to new women over men ✅Adopter should have guardian breed experience Handsome Atticus will be your best, loyal friend. He loves his people with his whole heart and would do anything for them. An affectionate boy that likes being near his people, Atticus will soak up all your snuggles and pets. He is smart, knows some basic commands, and is treat motivated. Atticus is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! A playful pup, Atticus requires a daily walk and delights in being outside and patrolling the backyard. He also takes time out for a good nap. Atticus likes the companionship of other dogs and would appreciate having a female dog in his furever home that matches his playful energy. He does fine with dog friendly cats. Atticus is crate trained and rides great in the car. He needs a strong handler as he walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and then he pulls. Being fostered in Holden, MO Atticus weighs avout 90 lbs, is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Howie is the last of his siblings still available for adoption. Howie is part of the West Plains, MO litter that we rescued in March. They were abandoned outside when their owner passed away. Howie is growing up in rescue. He is really ready for a family of his own! Howie is a very sweet, affectionate and attentive dog. He bonds easily to the people around him. Watch out for his big Pyr paw when he wants attention! Howie loves to play with both people, cats, and other dogs. He is affectionate with the cats and curious and respectful of the parakeet in his foster home. Howie can also play on his own and is crate trained or can be gated off in a room when you’re not home. Howie particularly likes ice cubes, chew toys, and soft toys. At 9 months old, Howie is already a big boy so it's hard to remember that he's still a puppy. He doesn't quite always know what his body is doing; coordination is still developing! A typical Pyrenees, Howie will alert you when he hears deliveries or comings and goings outside. Howie is 100% potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. Howie weighs about 80 lbs. He is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Howie will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to neuter at a later date and must provide vet records at that time. Howie is being fostered in Columbia, MO. Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.
