Story
In February 2023, we rescued Jada and her sister, Kali, from a shelter. They were likely dumped puppies as no owner claimed them. A Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, 1 year old Jada is a fun loving girl who LOVES attention from people. Kid friendly, she gets so excited when the grandkids come to visit her foster home. She would do well with older kids in the home as her size and exuberance might knock littles over. Always up for a play session, Jada loves to wrestle and play and when she's worn out she's good for a nap! She doesn't quite know her size and has been known to fall off the ottoman! A confident girl, Jada is bonded to her sister and they need a home with no cats or other female dogs. Jada is potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. *Being fostered in Jackson, MO Jada weighs 90 lbs, is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements: *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Handsome Adak, pronounced “ay-dack,” was named after an island in Alaska. Adak was a stray at a shelter that no one claimed. A happy boy that loves attention from his people, Adak will come over to you just to be petted. And if you sit or lie down on the floor he will be right next to you. He is a little reserved when first meeting a new person, but once you’re in his pack, he will be your best friend. Adak is a smart boy who knows some basic commands. This may have something to do with being very treat motivated. He is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! An energetic boy, Adak requires 1-2 daily walks; and he enjoys patrolling the backyard at his foster home. Adak also takes time out for a good nap. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs and would be very happy to have a female playmate in his furever home that matches his energy. Adak is crate trained and rides great in the car. He walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and then he pulls some in excitement. We think Adak is a Maremma Sheepdog, a livestock guardian breed similar to a Great Pyrenees. At 1.5 years old, he weighs about 80 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Mandy was part of a neglect case, was confiscated from owner, and transferred to a local shelter to await rescue. Mandy came to us in pretty poor shape. This sweet girl was significantly underweight and had to be shaved at the shelter due to some major matting, which did not help her emaciated figure. Mandy started out very shy and insecure. She had no interest going outside, possibly because she was forced to stay outside by her prior owner. She's now been in her foster home for a few weeks and has gained almost 20 lb, started to regrow some hair and is no longer afraid to go outside. Mandy's personality is very typical of a Great Pyrenees: sweet, gentle and docile. She loves a good cuddle and will very gently and persistently ask for them. She gets along great with other animals, cats, dogs and birds. She will occasionally surf the counters if the humans forget something irresistible up there! Being fostered in Columbia, MO We think Mandy is about 3 years old. She weighs about 70 lbs, is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

In February 2023, we rescued Kali and her sister, Jada, from a shelter. They were likely dumped puppies as no owner came for them. A gorgeous 1 year old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, Kali has a big heart. She is very sweet and absolutely loves everyone she meets. Kali has a calm demeanor and will soak up all the attention you give her. Kali is great with kids and loves when the grandkids visit. She would do best with older children as she still jumps up sometimes and might knock little ones over accidentally. Kali loves to wrestle and play with her sister. Confident girls, Kali and Jada are a bonded pair that need to be the only female dogs in their furever home and are not fans of cats. Kali is very smart, a pretty good listener, and will alert you to sights and sounds. Kali is potty trained and she walks pretty well on a leash. Story
Nova was surrendered by a young couple who admittedly didn’t research the breed. They didn’t have the space or the resources to take care of a giant breed and they wanted her to have a life where she could have what she needed. They trimmed her hair short because it was matted which has now grown back to a beautiful, thick curly coat. Nova LOVES meeting people and enjoys being showered with pets and attention. She’s all about the belly rubs and likes to be close to her people, putting her head on you or sitting on your foot— such a Pyrenees trait! Nova likes to play with other dogs and can also keep herself busy with toys. She’s a calm puppy and hasn’t chewed up anything she shouldn’t chew on— at least not yet. In her young life, Nova has always had other dogs to keep her company so we’re looking for a home for her that has at least one male canine companion. Nova lived with a cat in her former home and cohabitates with cats in her foster home. She is good with kids, is potty trained, and leash trained. And isn’t she just beautiful?! We think (and so does the vet) Nova was kept in a crate for long periods before we rescued her. She had difficultly getting up from lying down and had some muscle loss/weakness in her back legs. She’s being treated with an anti-inflammatory and we already see a lot of improvement in her strength. Just shy of 6 months old, Nova has long legs and huge paws and surpassing 60 lbs already, she’s going to be 100 lbs plus when fully grown. Nova is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to spay at a later date and must provide vet records at that time. Nova is being fostered near Kansas City Adoption Requirements *A secure and visible fence *A home visit *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.
