Story
Handsome Adak, pronounced “ay-dack,” was named after an island in Alaska. Adak was a stray at a shelter that no one claimed. A happy boy that loves attention from his people, Adak will come over to you just to be petted. And if you sit or lie down on the floor he will be right next to you. He is a little reserved when first meeting a new person, but once you’re in his pack, he will be your best friend. Adak is a smart boy who knows some basic commands. This may have something to do with being very treat motivated. He is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! An energetic boy, Adak requires 1-2 daily walks; and he enjoys patrolling the backyard at his foster home. Adak also takes time out for a good nap. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs and would be very happy to have a female playmate in his furever home that matches his energy. He does fine with dog friendly cats. Adak is crate trained and rides great in the car. He walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and then he pulls some in excitement. We think Adak is a Maremma Sheepdog, a livestock guardian breed similar to a Great Pyrenees. At 2.5 years old, he weighs about 90 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Meet Howie, a Pyrfect puppy who is happy, playful and affectionate. He is the last of his siblings still available for adoption. Howie is part of the West Plains, MO litter that was abandoned outside when their owner passed away. In his foster home, Howie has become quite confident, you show him how to do something and he'll get right in trying to learn. He's very good at reading cues from other dogs and cats, playful when they allow and will back off if they don’t want to play. Howie has a good appetite and is just enough food motivated to work for a treat. Watch out for his big Pyr paw! He is going through a teething phase and wants to steal everything to chew but does respond well to correction. Howie is 100% potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. All in all you could not ask for a better puppy! Howie is 9 months old and weighs about 75 lbs. He is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Howie will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to neuter at 1 year old and must provide vet records at that time. Howie is being fostered in Columbia, MO Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
We rescued Sammy from an owner who had too many dogs and according to her county law enforcement needed to rehome some of them. In addition Sammy was in danger of being shot by a neighbor when he roamed. 2.5-3 year old Sammy is a total love bug! He is the sweetest, gentlest boy. He loves to receive attention and get treats. He is very loving and tolerant of the cats in his foster home. Sammy is playful with other dogs and loves balls. On the smaller side for a male, Sammy weighs about 80 lbs. He has a shortened tail, possibly missing about 1/3. The vet thinks it was intentionally removed for some reason before he came to us. Sammy needs to be neutered before he can officially be adopted. Sammy is: ✅good with dogs & cats ✅loves people & kids ✅not a livestock guardian dog ✅up to date on vaccines ✅microchipped ✅heartworm negative Sammy is located in Columbia, MO Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and Arkansas.

Kai came from a litter of eight puppies that we rescued from an owner who had an oops litter and could not find homes for all the pups. Kai is a snuggle bug who wants to be with you. He is so sweet, silly and smart. Kai sits on command and also sits calmly waiting on whatever you are doing. He doesn’t jump up on you while waiting. He will also sit by the door when he wants to go outside. If you make eye contact with Kai, he immediately comes to you for lovings. And if you wave at him, he immediately tail wags. Kai likes kids and does great with other dogs. He’s doing well with potty training and he sleeps in an Xpen at night. 3 month old Kai weighs 26 lbs and is up to date on puppy shots, up to date on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. Story
1.5 year old Dahlia came into rescue when her owner lost her home and in process of moving left Dahlia behind. Thankfully a wonderful couple rescued her and contacted us to help Dahlia. Beautiful Dahlia is a very sweet and happy girl! She can be shy when meeting strangers but is easily won over by treats. Dahlia loves playing “tag,” doing zoomies in the backyard, going on walks, and she also loves sitting on the couch with her people. She adores pets and will tell you to keep petting her all day long. Dahlia lived with cats and other dogs before we rescued her. Dahlia seeks out the companionship of other dogs and would be happiest with a canine friend in her furever home. Dahlia enjoys her chew toys and stuffies, and typical of a Pyrenees, doesn’t care for balls of any sort. She walks well on a leash, is potty trained and kennel trained. Dahlia can be wary of new sights and sounds on her walks, and although she is very brave, some patience goes a long way with new experiences. Although she rarely barks, she will bark to alert you that something’s up. If you are looking for an addition to your family, Dahlia will make a wonderful companion and guardian! A pocket Pyr, Dahlia weighs 55 lbs, is spayed, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Dahlia is being fostered in Oak Grove, MO Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *Another dog in the home *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Ranger was initially rescued by a Good Samaritan in 2024. He was found in the middle of a road just hours old with his umbilical cord still attached! A nursing mother was found for him & after he was old enough to eat gruel, Ranger came into rescue. Ranger was adopted as a puppy by his foster family but in December 2025, his family could no longer keep him so Ranger came back to us. Fun loving Ranger needs a forever home! 2 year old Ranger is a really sweet boy that loves to play. He enjoys the out of doors and will let you know what he sees and hears with his bark! Ranger likes his chill time too and will sleep in bed with you or in his crate. Ranger does well meeting new people, men and women alike and loves to play with other dogs— likes balls & playing fetch, especially with another dog playing too. And rather then shredding toys, he cobbs them like an ear of corn. Oh Ranger you silly boy! Ranger does well with car rides— he sits on his rear like a gentleman. He knows how to sit, shake and lay down. He does pull on a leash some but is getting better. And leave your counters clear or Ranger will swipe any yummies left behind! We have not done Ranger’s DNA, however we think he’s an Anatolian Shepherd mixed with Labrador. A great eater, Ranger has the lean Shepherd physique and weighs 60-65 lbs. Ranger is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Ranger is being fostered in Little Rock, AR Adoption Requirements *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.
