Story
Dom came to the kennel in mid-December after being taken in by a shelter after he was found running loose with another dog, and they were out of room and called GRRAND. He is a 2 year old sweet, gentle giant, he is a mix of Anatolian Shapherd, Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees. He currently weighs almost 90 lbs, but needs to pack on another 10 lbs. We are told "Dom is an expressive, social dog with a confident personality and a lot to say. He enjoys being engaged with other dogs and his people, and thrives when included in daily routines. Dom is curious, enthusiastic, and brings energy into any space he enters. He would do best in a home that enjoys interaction, communication, and an outgoing companion who wants to be part of the action." We think he'd do best in a home where people are around a lot of the time. He falls in love with his people quickly, and will cry when we leave him! He loves to be petted. He loves most other dogs (not dominant male dogs). He plays every day with Solara and Aurora! We are walking him off premise and he does great on leash. He's had no accidents in his kennel run despite the suspicion we have that he spent most of his time outdoors before coming to us. We are still learning about Dom, but we know he's ready to go to a forever home (or foster) and if you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2612679##

Story
Meet Tyg (Tygrys) Tyg is a beautiful, big 7.5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix. He came to GRRAND as a puppy in 2019 and was quickly adopted. Sadly, he was returned due to a divorce in June 2023. He’s spent the last three years at the GRRAND kennel. He is a kennel favorite. Our volunteers adore Tyg, and he they. They dress him up for Holiday photo shoots, like Christmas, St Patrick’s Day, Halloween, etc., and he patiently allows them to put ridiculous costumes on him and snap photos. He gets taken on a field trip at least weekly; he loves a Starbucks’ pup cup and McDonalds double cheeseburger (without the bun!!!)  – Yes, he’s a bit spoiled – but he deserves it. Tyg’s breed is used as a  ‘guardian’ . He has been bred to watch over his flock and property. When you first come to the kennel, he will let you know not to mess with his volunteers (flock) or his property (kennel). But once he gets to know you, he will love and protect you too! Tyg needs a fenced yard to patrol. A dog savvy adopter who is willing to put in the time to let Tyg get to trust them. No dogs or children. 10/15/2026 - ACL/Surgery Update Thanks to amazing support within the GRRAND community we have raised over $5,700. Tyg not only has a torn ACL, but had two tumors that had to be removed, costing over $1000. That surgery is now behind us and our big boy has recovered well. He is currently on an anti-inflammatory and pain medication for his ACL tear, and we will be planning his knee surgery next week, hopefully getting it completed in early November. Tyg will recover and rehab at the kennel. We fully expect him to be running the fence line again by the time Spring comes around - unless of course he's found his forever home! . A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this special pup in his time of need.        ##1734296##
