Loula is a 5 year old, Great Pyrenees mix (we believe she is a Pyradoodle!) at only 50ish lbs who is being surrendered to GRRAND as her family tells us: "We are relocating to a larger city where we will not have the outdoor space or time to care for her properly. She currently has a large yard to play in, and she will not have that when they move." She should go to a home with no small children as her current home has them and we are told: " While we do have children, she likes to herd/follow small children and it does cause her to be stressed and not settle down when multiple kids are running around, and she does not like it when they are around while she is eating."  Loula is crate-trained and sleeps in it at night and needs plenty of activity to keep her busy. She will need a home with a fenced in yard so she can hang out and play. Our GRRAND volunteer who hangs with Loula in the GRRAND play yard tells us: "We were back in our field today with Miss Loula, who has recently had a second grooming and is looking even more beautiful. Loula is a Goldendoodle mix and she is great fun. She has a great sense of humor and likes to run like a gazelle while having a ball thrown for her, but she also loves to sit and be petted. She knows basic commands, including recall upon hearing her name. This girl needs to put some weight on her bones, but she is looking better everyday. It's always a great time with Loula!" Story
Dom came to the kennel in mid-December after being taken in by a shelter after he was found running loose with another dog, and they were out of room and called GRRAND. He is a 2 year old sweet, gentle giant, he is a mix of Anatolian Shapherd, Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees. He currently weighs almost 90 lbs, but needs to pack on another 10 lbs. We are told "Dom is an expressive, social dog with a confident personality and a lot to say. He enjoys being engaged with other dogs and his people, and thrives when included in daily routines. Dom is curious, enthusiastic, and brings energy into any space he enters. He would do best in a home that enjoys interaction, communication, and an outgoing companion who wants to be part of the action." We think he'd do best in a home where people are around a lot of the time. He falls in love with his people quickly, and will cry when we leave him! He loves to be petted. He loves most other dogs (not dominant male dogs). He plays every day with Solara and Aurora! We are walking him off premise and he does great on leash. He's had no accidents in his kennel run despite the suspicion we have that he spent most of his time outdoors before coming to us. Story
Fred is a 10 month old Great Pyrenees pup that was dumped in a ditch with his sibling Ethel, and found by a good Samaritan. She brought them to her house to clean them up, and had them for 3 weeks trying to find their home, with no one claiming them. She realized she could not keep them and called GRRAND for help as her yard is way too small for 2 big pups like them. Fred is going to be a BIG boy when full grown, so you must be a family ready for a polar bear in your house! These 2 have lived outside and are ready to learn what living in a warm and loving home with lots of TLC and a soft bed and food are all about. We are learning about them so are not sure of their potty training habits just yet, but we will update.  The Great Pyrenees love to hang out, roam and patrol their yard, and they do that best in a secure area. They are looking for a secure above ground fenced yard and a family that loves to understand their breed. They have so many similiarities to Goldens, but we suggest you research them to understand how they are different too.  We are still learning about Fred so please check back for more info, or fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to meet them!     ##2542955##
