Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello, I’m Dolma, a sweet yet timid and shy lady. Excuse me, is that a small child over there? Ohhh, I’m just going to scurry over here for a moment. Yes, I know toddlers are a sweet joy to many, I understand, however, not I. I won’t be aggressive around little ones, I’m not a monster, but it’s just something about their tiny bodies when they’re charging at me that gives me the heebie jeebies so I may set a boundary by showcasing some fear. I tend to have this feeling around men as well, so yes, I’m a gals gal as I adore my foster mom. Now, don’t get me wrong, I think I would most likely do fantastic, be a great addition to a large family, but maybe a home with older kids that are sensitive to understanding that I need some practice getting comfortable with them. I’ve met a few and I want to play with them so badly, but I’m still learning to trust. Treats would be a great motivator in this area as I absolutely LOVE food. Speaking of my favorite things, I’ve got some good news, you won’t have to worry about overspending on toys as I’ll play with the simplest things, like yogurt containers. I find it fun chasing them around so take note, don’t just toss out old containers! Lastly, if I promise to be a good girl while you’re away, maybe you could pick up a chew bone as a reward.  Right now, I’m still learning to walk on a leash and I’ll admit I tend to freeze, but with practice I’m sure I could adapt. Since I have had most experience with a fenced yard, I will need one in my forever home. We must also continue working on potty training but being on a consistent schedule will help. I’m great around all types of dogs, I enjoy the friendly ones the most, I do require a doggy companion in my forever home. I don’t generally tend to bark, but since I am a Lhasa Apso and was originally bred to be a royal watchdog, I will bark if I am alarmed to let you know something seems off.  As I mentioned earlier, I am a gals gal, and I will even give my foster mom’s sweater a tug if I’m not getting enough attention. Admittedly, I may not stop until I get some pets and affection! Please know that I am as sweet as I look, docile and I’m looking for someone that wants to love me as much as I already love them! I just know if we give it some time to get to know each other, we will be best friends forever. I can’t wait to meet you! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Sissy to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 3.5-year-old Papillion mix pup. She is Black and white with a with the fluffy coat much like the pure Papillion She weighs about 12 pounds. She is getting spayed next week. She lives in a home with a number of other dogs and does great. She lives with an older woman and she is very loyal to her. We are working with her on a harness and leash. She doesn’t know how to walk on leash at this time. She needs to find her forever home. The person she lived with since she was a puppy has had a change in her living conditions and the neighbor has mentioned harming the dogs. When she told us this, CCPAL stepped up for 3 of the dogs. Sissy is still in foster care at the moment. Her foster mom is working on leash and harness walking and taking her places for strangers to meet her. This group of dogs are all under-socialized but we will work hard to get them used to new things, leash walking, crate training and more. She is a wonderful breed and if you love this breed you will like any one of these pups. These dogs would make great companion dogs and love to be at home with their person. They would already be wonderful for someone who loves the breed and maybe is a person that wants a companion but doesn’t need them to be a dog you can take everywhere. These dogs would be ok around children. We like them to be 10 or older with the smaller dogs. Sissy is in CCPAL Rescue in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Did I catch your eye? Learn more about me by reading my profile below; I just might be your new best friend! Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule.     Age: Approximately 4 years old Weight: 23 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, REQUIRES another dog in his home Cat friendly: unknown/not tested Kid friendly: Yes, best with older kids that will be gentle Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule Crate trained: Yes, does well in the crate when left alone   Are you looking for a squishy teddy bear that's calm, gentle, and sweet? Then Sampson is your guy! He's potty-trained and crate-trained as well so he's quite the catch. Sampson takes the phrase "leisurely pace" very seriously since he's 90% couch potato and 10% furry tortoise. He is in absolutely no hurry to do anything whether it's walking, eating, or going up and down the stairs. Every once in a while he'll pick up the pace but it's still a slow jog at best. His past life was not great so he's still learning how to be a dog. He's starting to try and play with other dogs and is interested in chew toys but he'll need another dog in his home to keep showing him the ropes. Sampson is very cautious and shy around new people and new things so he will usually find a corner to hide in until gets comfortable. He will do best in a home with people that will be gentle and patient with him for the first day or two until he feels more confident. He's definitely worth the wait though and you'll be rewarded with a fluffy shadow that follows you around and gives you a gentle nose bump to get pets. How can you pass that up? (Answer: you can't so fill out an app today!) Adoption Fee: $595  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? If you’d like to arrange a private meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting    https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt   **Note on breed and age determination:  Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.   ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Wellness check Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate) Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo  Heartworm test if over 7 months of age Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites Microchip &#226&#128&#139 ~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care. &#226&#128&#139~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile ~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax added: Credit Card via Zeffy Cash WANT TO HELP SAVE MORE DOGS?   Healing Hearts Rescue is a nonprofit, foster-based rescue  located in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota  that  is 100% funded through adoption fees and donations .  We are excited for you to join us on this mission to save the lives of dogs in need.   We believe every dog deserves to be loved as true members of a family and are committed to fulfilling that dream one dog at a time!
