❤️ Meet Severus ❤️ 5 years old • Black Lab/Collie Mix • 55–60 lbs Hi, I’m Severus! I may be a little nervous at first, which is why I’m getting to spend some quiet time in an adoption room. I’m hoping that having a peaceful place to relax will help my true personality shine through — because once I get comfortable, I am a VERY good boy. I came to MHS after my previous owner made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender me. She had senior cats with medical needs, and after I had an incident with the cats, she felt it was no longer safe for everyone to live together. It was a heartbreaking decision for her, but she knew I deserved a chance to find a home where I could be successful. She loved me enough to make that difficult choice. And she taught me some pretty cool things! 🐾 “Sit” — I know it! 🐾 “Shake” — I’ll gladly give you my paw. 🐾 “Away Away” — I know that means to back away from something. 🐾 “Okay, Eat” — because apparently I have excellent table manners and wait for permission to eat! My favorite things are belly rubs, head scratches, leisurely walks, and simply sitting beside my person. I walk beautifully on a leash and have done well with other dogs here at the shelter. I’m neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, on preventatives, and heartworm negative! I also appear to be housetrained — I head outside and take care of business right away. (Of course, we can never guarantee that in a new home.) I know I need a home without cats, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have SO much love to give. I’m looking for someone who wants a sweet, easygoing companion who is perfectly happy to sit beside them, soak up some attention, and enjoy a nice walk together. Maybe that someone is you. ❤️ I’m patiently waiting for someone to see what a wonderful dog I truly am.

Betsy is a “big, beautiful girl” that is looking for a new home. Betsy kept getting out of her yard. Neighbors returned her, Animal Control picked her up a time or two, and on this last time she was picked up, her owner never came to claim her. After waiting her allotted time, she is now ready for adoption. Betsy has all of her vaccinations, she is heartworm negative, she has a microchip, and she has been spayed. Betsy is a retriever/lab mix that is about four years old. She will be a wonderful addition to any family that is lucky enough to adopt her!

Hi, I'm Harper! 🐾 Okay, first things first… have you SEEN me?! I’m pretty gorgeous, if I do say so myself! The humans here think I might be a Retriever/Shepherd mix, but honestly, your guess is as good as mine! I came to the shelter as a stray after someone called Animal Services because I was hanging out in their backyard. A nice Humane Officer safely brought me to the shelter, and I really hoped my family would come looking for me. Sadly, no one ever showed up. But I'm not letting that get me down! I am an absolute LOVE and I'm ready to find my people. I just know there's a family out there who will see me, fall in love, and give me the happy ending I've been waiting for. I've already been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I did find out I'm heartworm positive. But don't worry, my treatment is already scheduled AND covered by the shelter!
