Story
Bobo has been with us for over a month now, making him one of our longer-term residents—and while we’ve loved getting to know him, shelter life is starting to wear on this sweet boy. He’s ready for a home of his own where he can finally relax and be loved how he deserves! Bobo came to us because he was a little too big and active for his previous senior owner, but don’t let his size fool you—this gentle giant has a soft heart and a willingness to learn that’s truly special. He takes treats so gently, responds beautifully to redirection, and genuinely enjoys training. With a bit of structure and guidance, Bobo is going to absolutely thrive. He’s potty trained, keeps his space nice and clean, and knows cues like “sit” and “down.” He may even be crate trained, as he settles nicely in his kennel and seems to appreciate having a cozy, safe space of his own. Bobo is a strong boy and still working on his leash manners, so he’ll do best with a capable handler who can continue helping him build those skills. He’s been doing great with a harness lead and is learning “wait” with positive reinforcement—he’s already making great progress! Personality-wise, Bobo is the best mix of sweet and silly. He’s been friendly with everyone he’s met, loves making new friends, and his soft eyes paired with his goofy moments make him impossible not to love. Bobo doesn’t have a ton of experience with other animals and can feel overwhelmed in busy dog environments, though he hasn’t shown aggressive behaviors, he would likely do best as the only dog in the home. He’ll benefit from slow, thoughtful introductions and continued positive experiences. We think he may do best with a friendly female dog companion. We are more than happy to provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting! While in our care, Bobo has bravely tried all sorts of new things—car rides, trail walks, even some agility-style play! He may still be figuring it all out, but he’s never afraid to give it a try, and that says so much about his character. Bobo will thrive best with having a positive outlet for his energy. He is the type of dog who appreciates keeping both his mind and body moving! Bobo is truly such a good boy. He’s loyal, loving, and ready to give his whole heart to someone. Now he just needs that someone to give him a chance!

Story
Mowgli is a big blocky-headed goofball with a personality that keeps everyone smiling. Most of the time he’s a pretty quiet guy, but every now and then he blesses us with some dramatic little howly moments that are impossible not to laugh at. Something we’d expect coming from a husky! He’s the kind of dog who just rolls with whatever life throws his way — happy to be included in the adventure no matter where the road leads. With shelter staff, Mowgli is playful, affectionate, and full of fun energy, so we were surprised to learn that he can be a little shy and standoffish with new people at first. Mowgli is the type of dog whose trust is earned through patience, kind introductions, tasty treats, and shared fun moments. Once you’re in his circle though, you’re really in it — and we know he’ll become an incredibly loyal companion. Mowgli came to us as a stray, so his history is largely unknown. Whatever his past may have looked like, he has proven himself to be a very well-mannered boy. He walks nicely on leash despite his excitement to get outside and explore the world. He also appears to be potty trained and may even be crate trained, as he enjoys having his own cozy space to relax in. This smart boy already knows “sit” and “lay down,” and when asked to do something he doesn’t understand, he responds with the funniest little confusion dance and dramatic huff. It’s honestly one of his best quirks! We think Mowgli would really enjoy continued training. When Mowgli first arrived, we expected him to have a more dominant personality with other dogs, but he’s surprised us once again with his friendly and fairly independent demeanor. He tends to do his own thing and coexist well. We are happy to arrange a dog meet-and-greet prior to adoption if needed! Mowgli is truly one of those dogs who keeps unfolding into something even more wonderful the more you get to know him. If you’re looking for a goofy, loyal, well-mannered best friend with a blocky head and an even bigger heart, Mowgli might just be your guy.
