Story
Smokey is a polite gentleman who is looking for an owner who has the time to shower with love. Smokey is happiest when spending time with his people and would prefer a home that he doesn’t have to spend most of his time alone in. Smokey would benefit from crate training for when he does need to spend time alone as he was known to be destructive at times. Crate training could help Smokey feel safe and secure while his people are away! Overall, Smokey is well mannered. Also, he is friends to all! Smokey is potty trained, he walks well on a leash and knows the cues “sit”, “down”, “come”, “leave it”, “drop”, “no”, “shake”. He is a people pleaser and just wants to make you happy! Smokey has gotten along with other dogs and has been friendly towards other dogs in the shelter. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! Smokey had a cat friend in his previous home, and they got along great. Though this is great news, it is important to keep in mind that introductions should be taken slowly! Smokey does not have a shy bone in his body. He has loved everyone he’s met and does great with children. Though he does have a mellow personality he still enjoys being active. He loves playtime with squeaky toys and taking nice walks! Smokey is such a good boy. If you feel that your home would be a good fit for Smokey, we would love for you to meet him!

Story
Alexa was both an indoor and outdoor dog in her previous home. When she was left alone, she was primarily left outside. Alexa is an active and playful young dog who will thrive best with having a positive outlet for her energy. Any adopter should be prepared to provide her with that outlet! Alexa enjoys the great outdoors and is always happy to go on an adventure. We aren`t sure if she has ever been camping but we anticipate it being one of her favorite things! Though Alexa is playful she doesn`t always show much interest in toys. She prefers one on one playtime with her people and enjoys sticks! Overall, Alexa does have good manners. Her one ‘flaw’ was that she could be destructive towards household items. This may have been due to the lack of stimulation in her previous home though. Alexa is potty trained and crate trained. We recommend continuing crate training to help Alexa feel secure when left alone and to keep her honest! Alexa does well on a leash and knows the cues “sit”, “come”, “no”. Alexa was described as being aggressively playful by her previous owners. Though she enjoys playing with other dogs and playing in general, she can be rambunctious at times and may not know how to read social cues from other animals. To her, everything is a game! Alexa will need additional socializing to help her better interact with other dogs and play respectfully. She would do best with a tolerable friend that matches her energy. We highly encourage a dog meet and greet prior to adopting. Alexa will most likely chase or play too rough with cats. To make ensure everyone stays happy and stress free, we do not recommend Alexa going into a home with small animals. Alexa has loved everyone she met and has lived with children. Again, due to her wiggly personality she may be too much energy for some small children. If you are an active person who also enjoys all things the great outdoors has to offer, Alexa may be the right dog for you!

Story
We got Nico in March of 2025 from the Animal Control Center off Elmore. He’s a skiddish and gentle dog, love walks and pets. Gets frightened by sudden movements and loud noises due to his past home. He was doing great until recently he’s shown more anxiety than we can keep up with. Sudden changes lately have made him hyperactive or potty regressed. He’s never been the type to be aggressive or anything, always been sweet and gentle. In the new home I’m just looking for someone who can help him with going potty often and making sure he’s fed properly as he does have a sensitive stomach.

Story
Nala is a sweet yellow lab that loves cuddles. Unfortunately I got a job in Texas that I cannot bring her with me. My ex husband bought Nala when she was 2 months old and has been with me for 2 and a half years. She is potty and kennel trained. I want Nala to go to a loving home. Nala will come with all of her things for free. I just really want her to go to a good home.
