Story
Hi there, I'm Niko! My favorite thing to do is... Spend time with my family. My foster mom gives me lots of snuggles and my foster dad takes me for walks, almost every day. What makes me special is... That even though I'm already 9 years old, I am super playful! I sometimes forget my size and think that I'm an 80 pound lap dog. I want my new owner to know... that I have some anxiety and do much better when I get my walks. I also do better on my walks when it's 1:1. I also have a funny way of greeting people. Foster mom calls it "goosing", whatever that means. I just like to tuck my nose between legs to say hi. I am overall just such a sweet boy and love everyone. When I am feeling playful I like to.. (favorite toys): play with my foster siblings, even though they are much smaller than me. We have a variety of toys. I have to keep my stuffies from the other pups, so they don't tear them up, but I love to snuggle with my stuffies. Where do I sleep? in my kennel or on my doggie bed. I am good with: Dogs and Kids It is unknown if I am good with: Cats By nature I am... Affectionate, Playful, and CuddlySeptember 6, 2025, 9:19 pm

Story
Hi there, future best friend! My name is Harley… well, it used to be Chicken, but Harley sounds pretty cool, right? I answer to both, so you can call me whichever name makes you smile. I’m a 3-year-old Lab mix with a big heart and an even bigger dream: to find my forever family. Life hasn’t been easy, but I’m not giving up hope. I was rescued from the pound in Yuma, and for a while, I thought I had found my happy ending. A wonderful person adopted me about six months ago, and I was so excited to start my new life. But sometimes things don’t work out the way we plan. The other dog in the house didn’t like me very much and started picking fights. I tried to be a good boy, but it just wasn’t safe for either of us. So, here I am again—waiting patiently at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, hoping that the next family who walks through the door will be mine forever. Let me tell you a little about myself. I’m not a high-energy dog, so if you’re looking for a jogging buddy or a hiking partner, that’s not really my style. What I am is the perfect couch companion. If you love curling up with a blanket, watching a good movie, and sharing some popcorn, I’m your guy! Belly rubs? Yes, please! Snuggles? Absolutely! I’m happiest when I’m hanging out with my people and feeling loved. I’ve got great manners, too. I’m house-trained and crate-trained, so no surprises there. I walk nicely on a leash, which means strolls around the neighborhood will be a breeze. I’m also up to date on all my vaccinations, I’m microchipped, and I’ve been neutered—so I’m ready to go home today! I’m good with older kids, and I really love people. I’m not sure how I feel about cats yet, but we can figure that out together. I have a short coat, so I don’t need fancy grooming—just an occasional bath to keep me looking handsome. I know what you might be thinking: “Why should I choose Harley?” Well, here’s my promise to you: I’ll be your loyal friend, your movie buddy, your stress reliever after a long day. I’ll greet you with a wagging tail every time you walk through the door, and I’ll never stop being grateful that you chose me. Right now, I’m staying at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, waiting for someone who sees me not just as a dog, but as family. Could that someone be you? If you’d like to meet me—and I really hope you do—please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ve been dreaming about this moment for so long: the day I hop into your car, ride home with you, and finally know what “forever” feels like. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, easygoing Lab mix who just wants to love and be loved, then I think we’re meant to be. So, what do you say? Let’s start our story together. I’m ready when you are. Love, Harley (a.k.a. Chicken)   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ. If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption. When she arrived, she was in rough shape—neglected, emaciated, and suffering from severe infections on her back paws. Despite missing her back paw pads and having paws that are larger than normal, Darla doesn’t let anything slow her down. She loves to play, run around, and go on walks with her tail wagging the entire time. Darla LOVES being with her fur pack and is incredibly affectionate and sweet. She’s crate trained, house trained, and uses a doggy door like a pro. Darla enjoys chewing on bones, playing ball, and riding in the car—she’s the ultimate co-pilot! This smart girl knows how to sit and listens attentively to commands. Her joyful spirit and wagging tail make it impossible not to smile when you’re around her. Darla is looking for a forever home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love and care. Once you meet her, you won’t be able to resist falling in love with this happy, sweet, and resilient girl. Could you be the one to give Darla the loving home she deserves?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 18, 2025, 9:24 pm
