Kona is the sweetest, most beautiful dog you will ever meet. She's so well trained, and though she's 7 years old, she has the life and happiness of a 3 year old. Kona loves to run! My husband and I always joke that she'll probably die of a heart attack doing what she loves most, chasing balls and bunnies. We've nicknamed her our angel because she gave us companionship and love when we needed her most. Even now, I tear up thinking about rehoming her, because we love her so much, but our lives have transitioned to a season where we don't have the time, resources and energy to care for her the way she deserves. We want her to be able to go on hikes and have adventures like we used to able to give her. She does well just chilling! She's crate trained and happy to stay settled in her own little corner for the better part of the day. Truly, she's one in a thousand. Our loss is your immense gain.

Hi there, I'm Niko! My favorite thing to do is... Spend time with my family. My foster mom gives me lots of snuggles and my foster dad takes me for walks, almost every day. What makes me special is... That even though I'm already 9 years old, I am super playful! I sometimes forget my size and think that I'm an 80 pound lap dog. I want my new owner to know... that I have some anxiety and do much better when I get my walks. I also do better on my walks when it's 1:1. I also have a funny way of greeting people. Foster mom calls it "goosing", whatever that means. I just like to tuck my nose between legs to say hi. I am overall just such a sweet boy and love everyone. When I am feeling playful I like to.. (favorite toys): play with my foster siblings, even though they are much smaller than me. We have a variety of toys. I have to keep my stuffies from the other pups, so they don't tear them up, but I love to snuggle with my stuffies. Where do I sleep? in my kennel or on my doggie bed. I am good with: Dogs and Kids It is unknown if I am good with: Cats By nature I am... Affectionate, Playful, and CuddlySeptember 6, 2025, 9:19 pm

Story
Meet Layla: Your Playful Forever Friend Hello, future family! My name is Layla, and I’m a joyful, spirited pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I’m looking for my forever home, and I think you might be the one I’ve been waiting for. I was first adopted from the Humane Society of Yuma when I was just six months old. Life took me on a journey, and in September I found myself back at the shelter. I waited there for two months, hoping my family would come for me, but no one did. Then, Central Arizona Animal Rescue stepped in to give me another chance at finding the home I truly deserve. Now I’m here, ready to meet you and start the next chapter of my life. My Personality I’m playful, energetic, and full of joy. Running, chasing, and playing with my doggy buddies is my absolute favorite thing to do. I share a yard with other dogs, and I get along wonderfully with them. If you already have a dog, I’d love to be their new best friend. If you don’t, I’ll happily be your one and only! I don’t know much about cats yet, so I can’t promise how I’d do with them. As for kids, I haven’t had the chance to spend time with little ones here. I’d probably be fine, but I might be a little too excitable for very small children. My enthusiasm is part of my charm—I just love life too much to sit still! My Skills I’m spayed, current on all my vaccinations, and microchipped so I’ll never get lost again. I walk well on a leash, though I could use a little more practice to become a true professional. I’m eager to learn, and with your guidance, I’ll be the best walking partner you could ask for. We don’t know for sure if I’m house trained, but I’m smart and willing to learn. With patience, consistency, and love, I’ll quickly figure out the routine in my new home. Why Choose Me &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Adopting me means gaining a loyal companion who will fill your days with laughter, play, and unconditional love. I’ve already proven that I’m resilient, and I’m ready to give my heart to someone who will cherish me forever. I’m not just looking for a house—I’m looking for a family, a place where I belong, and people who will see me for the wonderful dog I am. Imagine me greeting you at the door with happy wiggles after a long day. Picture us running together in the yard, playing fetch, or curling up on the couch after a fun adventure. I’ll be your partner in joy, your comfort in tough times, and your reminder that life is better with a dog by your side. Final Tail Wags I may have had a few twists and turns in my journey, but I believe every step has led me closer to you. My heart is open, my paws are ready, and my spirit is full of hope. I’m Layla, and I’m waiting for the day I get to run into the arms of my forever family. How to Meet Me &#226&#156&#168 I’m staying with Central Arizona Animal Rescue until I find my forever family. If you think we’re meant to be, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. Hi there! My name is Feather. I’m about a year old, and I’m just a girl looking for my forever home. But once you give me that time, you will see—I have so much love to give. I am the kind of girl who is wonderful with other dogs, and I even like people who are patient and kind to me. I’m not so sure about little kids just yet, though. Their fast, sudden movements can spook me. Older kids who understand that I need to take things slow would be perfect. Nobody ever taught me how to walk on a leash, so I am still learning the ropes. But I promise, with your guidance, I will get there. Story
Hi! I’m Sadie, and I’m ready to find my forever home! I’m a 7-month-old Lab mix puppy with a heart full of love and a whole lot of wiggles! Someone turned me into the pound as a stray, so I don’t have a backstory—but I’m ready to start a brand-new chapter with a family who will love me forever. I waited at the pound for almost a month, hoping someone would come for me. Then the amazing folks at Central Arizona Animal Rescue came to my rescue, and now I’m safe and getting lots of love while I wait for my perfect match! I’m a sweet girl who LOVES my new kennel mate. He’s super nice to me and lets me steal the chewy toys right out of his mouth (don’t worry—he follows me around until I drop it so he can get it back ). We have so much fun playing together! I’m spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations, so I’m ready to go home today! We’re not sure how I feel about cats since there aren’t any here, but I’m still young and could definitely learn to be polite with them. Want to meet me? I’d love that! Just email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be waiting with tail wags and puppy kisses! Story
Love, Sadie   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ. If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption.
