Story
Hi there, I'm Niko! My favorite thing to do is... Spend time with my family. My foster mom gives me lots of snuggles and my foster dad takes me for walks, almost every day. What makes me special is... That even though I'm already 9 years old, I am super playful! I sometimes forget my size and think that I'm an 80 pound lap dog. I want my new owner to know... that I have some anxiety and do much better when I get my walks. I also do better on my walks when it's 1:1. I also have a funny way of greeting people. Foster mom calls it "goosing", whatever that means. I just like to tuck my nose between legs to say hi. I am overall just such a sweet boy and love everyone. When I am feeling playful I like to.. (favorite toys): play with my foster siblings, even though they are much smaller than me. We have a variety of toys. I have to keep my stuffies from the other pups, so they don't tear them up, but I love to snuggle with my stuffies. Where do I sleep? in my kennel or on my doggie bed. I am good with: Dogs and Kids It is unknown if I am good with: Cats By nature I am... Affectionate, Playful, and CuddlySeptember 6, 2025, 9:19 pm

When she arrived, she was in rough shape—neglected, emaciated, and suffering from severe infections on her back paws. Despite missing her back paw pads and having paws that are larger than normal, Darla doesn’t let anything slow her down. She loves to play, run around, and go on walks with her tail wagging the entire time. Darla LOVES being with her fur pack and is incredibly affectionate and sweet. She’s crate trained, house trained, and uses a doggy door like a pro. Darla enjoys chewing on bones, playing ball, and riding in the car—she’s the ultimate co-pilot! Story
Meet Layla: Your Playful Forever Friend Hello, future family! My name is Layla, and I’m a joyful, spirited pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I’m looking for my forever home, and I think you might be the one I’ve been waiting for. I was first adopted from the Humane Society of Yuma when I was just six months old. Life took me on a journey, and in September I found myself back at the shelter. I waited there for two months, hoping my family would come for me, but no one did. Then, Central Arizona Animal Rescue stepped in to give me another chance at finding the home I truly deserve. Now I’m here, ready to meet you and start the next chapter of my life. My Personality I’m playful, energetic, and full of joy. Running, chasing, and playing with my doggy buddies is my absolute favorite thing to do. I share a yard with other dogs, and I get along wonderfully with them. If you already have a dog, I’d love to be their new best friend. If you don’t, I’ll happily be your one and only! I don’t know much about cats yet, so I can’t promise how I’d do with them. As for kids, I haven’t had the chance to spend time with little ones here. I’d probably be fine, but I might be a little too excitable for very small children. My enthusiasm is part of my charm—I just love life too much to sit still! My Skills I’m spayed, current on all my vaccinations, and microchipped so I’ll never get lost again. I walk well on a leash, though I could use a little more practice to become a true professional. I’m eager to learn, and with your guidance, I’ll be the best walking partner you could ask for. We don’t know for sure if I’m house trained, but I’m smart and willing to learn. With patience, consistency, and love, I’ll quickly figure out the routine in my new home. Why Choose Me &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Adopting me means gaining a loyal companion who will fill your days with laughter, play, and unconditional love. I’ve already proven that I’m resilient, and I’m ready to give my heart to someone who will cherish me forever. I’m not just looking for a house—I’m looking for a family, a place where I belong, and people who will see me for the wonderful dog I am. Imagine me greeting you at the door with happy wiggles after a long day. Picture us running together in the yard, playing fetch, or curling up on the couch after a fun adventure. I’ll be your partner in joy, your comfort in tough times, and your reminder that life is better with a dog by your side. Final Tail Wags I may have had a few twists and turns in my journey, but I believe every step has led me closer to you. My heart is open, my paws are ready, and my spirit is full of hope. I’m Layla, and I’m waiting for the day I get to run into the arms of my forever family. How to Meet Me &#226&#156&#168 I’m staying with Central Arizona Animal Rescue until I find my forever family. If you think we’re meant to be, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. Story
Hi there! My name is Feather. I’m about a year old, and I’m just a girl looking for my forever home. I am a black lab mix with strikingly soulful eyes that seem to tell a story of resilience and hope. My journey hasn’t been easy. I was found wandering the streets of Yuma all alone. I waited and waited for my first family to come back for me… but they never did. Luckily, the kind folks at Central Arizona Animal Rescue saved me, and now I am here, dreaming that someone like you will give me a chance. I will admit, I’m a little shy when I first meet new people. I’ve had a rough start in life, and it takes me a little time to trust. But once you give me that time, you will see—I have so much love to give. I am the kind of girl who is wonderful with other dogs, and I even like people who are patient and kind to me. I’m not so sure about little kids just yet, though. Their fast, sudden movements can spook me. Older kids who understand that I need to take things slow would be perfect. Nobody ever taught me how to walk on a leash, so I am still learning the ropes. But I promise, with your guidance, I will get there. I just need someone who believes in me and will show me all the wonderful things the world has to offer. I am spayed, up-to-date on all my vaccinations, and I even have a microchip! I’m ready to be your loyal companion, your shadow, your best friend. All I need is a chance. If you think you could be my person, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up a time to meet me. Oh, and if I am not the perfect fit for you, could you share my story? Maybe you can help me find the family I've been waiting for.   I’ll be here, waiting patiently.
