Story
Meet Lizzy! Lizzy’s story begins on a quiet country road during the 2025 holidays, where she was found
alone, cold, hungry, and doing everything she could to survive passing cars and winter nights.
Resourceful and determined, she made it through challenges no pup should ever face. Because
she didn’t trust anyone yet, she had to be safely trapped before help could reach her — a sign
of just how hard life had been.
When she arrived at the humane society, she was covered in mange, bumps, and bruises. But
even then, Lizzy never showed a single hint of aggression. Instead, she met every moment with
quiet bravery. With medical care, gentle hands, and patient hearts around her, she began to
heal — not just physically, but emotionally too. Her fur is growing back beautifully, and her
spirit shines brighter every day.
Lizzy is a fast learner who wants nothing more than to please her people. She already knows sit,
lay down, shake, and wait. She’s even learned to sit calmly when cars pass, a big step for a girl
who used to be so unsure of them. She loves to run and jump simply because it feels good, but
she’s just as happy curled up in her chair or bed, gathering all her toys so they’re close by.
Squeaky toys are her favorite—she delights in making them chirp.
She walks politely in a halter and takes in new surroundings with thoughtful pauses, absorbing
everything to make sure the world around her is safe.
Lizzy adores ear rubs, dreams of being a lap dog, and will tolerate a bath if you ask nicely. She
plays wonderfully with other dogs and has not had the opportunity to meet a cat face to face.
She’s watched them through the window in awe of them.
Spayed, recovering beautifully, and blossoming into the dog she was always meant to be, Lizzy
is ready for a future filled with love, safety, and soft places to land.
